[img]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/02by6c8mpn5qw5b/KICK%20OF%20YOUTH.gif[/img] I am an avid fandragon collector and breeding project fiend, and though I've already obtained several Naruto characters in dragon form, I'm still missing the best character in the series: The Beautiful Blue Beast of Konoha, Rock Lee! I've been trying to scry myself a Rock Lee fandragon for a long time now, but I never managed to come up with the right one. Nothing ever quite looked right. I don't know if it's because of his odd colors or his fairly simplistic design, but he's proven strangely hard to work with. But now, I've finally come up with a design that I want to pursue. There isn't a way to give him plain black eyes anyway, and though there is a piece of Marva's apparel that looks [i]exactly[/i] like his eyes, I just...don't like them as much. Besides. Lee deserves the best. [size=2]And I can always put the Marva eyes on top of the Primal eyes if I really want to. Best of both worlds.[/size] So! This thread is for me to document my progress as I put myself through the hell that is a Primal breeding project. I've done plenty of regular breeding projects in the past, but this is my first time trying to achieve a Primal, and honestly, I'm way more hyped for this than I should be. A few rules I'll be following: [b]1. I'm only aiming for the right [u]colors[/u], not the right [u]breed[/u] or [u]genes[/u][/b] There's no way I'm dealing with Coatl breeding cooldowns on top of a Primal project, and it's already impossible enough to find dragons anywhere near close to the right colors without factoring in rare breeds. So I'm only using [u]common breeds[/u] for breeding pairs, and genes can be anything under the sun. Any dragons I buy for this will be breedchanged if they have to. That does mean, of course, I'll have to buy a Coatl scroll for him, but that's completely worth it to me. [b]2. All main pairs and their failure hatchlings will be [u]exalted[/u] in the end, [u]no exceptions[/u][/b] This may not apply to offspring of narrow-down pairs, but for main pairs, everything must go. [u]This means faceted, multi-gaze, and wrong-gender Primals will all be exalted if they show up.[/u] This is just a rule I always have to adhere to for my fandragons - NO active parents, NO active siblings. It bothers me too much. [b]3. [u]I do not settle!![/u][/b] I will NOT settle for Shamrock/Black/Saffron! I will NOT settle for a female Primal! Even if it takes me three years, this project will NOT end until I get a Shamrock/Obsidian/Saffron male Primal! I'm waaaay too stubborn for any of that nonsense. Until I get exactly what I'm looking for, I'm continuing. [s]I think that's about it for now. Wow! I found that project you were talking about) While I don't know much about Naruto (aside from some dang-banging openings), I think the dragon looks astounding! I'm totally willing to help with my Spiral baby!

(Would you mind if I breedchanged him? I'd like all my pairs to be common breeds if possible. But I can leave him if you'd prefer, Spiral cooldowns are barely longer.)
He is indeed not blue! I'm not entirely sure why the name - I'd think it's either a mistranslation ("aoi" can mean blue or green), or it's referencing a certain technique he can use.

Let’s hope I can actually remember to incubate these darn things every day like I’m supposed to. Didn’t bother renting a Fire nest for them since their range is so awfully large. It’s not likely that they’ll produce anything useful on the first go, let alone a hatchling with the right colors. Figured I’d spare myself the trouble. UPDATE: Snagged this dude off the AH just now. Another tiny update - grabbed another dragon for a narrow-down pair. Not bad at all. For now, I'll be pairing her with the WC boy I picked up yesterday - unfortunately, their primary range narrowly excludes Shamrock, but even if I can't get exactly what I need out of them, they might be able to give me something useful. (BTW, the WC has now been named Xiu; the Tundra is Marion.) I need to stop buying pairs. Not just for this project, but for the eight others I have in progress. I don't have enough lair space for this to be sustainable.
