Over the course of the festival, a story will unfold, detailing this years mystery and revealing new clues. This is a semi-roleplay event, although RP is not strictly necessary to participate! Sign-ups are starting right now, and will close on the 26th. If you would like to be pinged for story updates, but would not like to participate, please let me know! [*]You get two questions per day, that you may ask to any of the available characters. The questions will be answered in-character, meaning that if a character has something to hide, they may just lie to you. Your questions will be answered privately via PM. You may choose to share or not share your response at your own discretion. [*]Every day there will be a puzzle for you to solve- those who solve it correctly will be entered into a randomized drawing at the end of the day, to win the Daily Prize. Either PM your solutions to me or post them to the thread. You will receive 10 points for correctly solving the Daily Puzzle. [*]Every day there will be a participation raffle for anyone who attempts to solve the puzzle, regardless of whether or not they do so correctly. This will be drawn at the same time as the Daily Prize raffle. The winner will receive a Gilded Chest. You cannot win both the Daily Prize and the Participation Prize at the same time. You will receive 5 points for participation. [*]There will also be a daily bonus puzzle- these will be more difficult puzzles that can be solved at any time during the week, and may offer extra clues to the mystery. Correctly solving any of these puzzles will grant you an extra 20 points. [*]Please add the phrase "Let’s Go Indigo" to your registration request so I know you read the rules. [*]There is no limit to the number of Daily or Participation Prizes you are eligible to receive. [*]At any time, you may try to solve the overall mystery. The sooner you guess the culprit correctly, the more points you earn for it. You may change your guess at any time. You will not lose points for guessing incorrectly, UNLESS you had guessed correctly previously. These points can only be allotted once over the course of the game. You will receive 70 points for guessing correctly on Sunday, 60 for guessing correctly on Monday, etc. [*]The points, for purposes of maintaining mystery, will remain hidden until the end of the story. Young and new as they are, many of them tend to come into conflict with one another, over land, food, water, petty things that Gladekeeper has already provided in abundance. When these conflicts arise, a clan might opt to call in a mediator- a neutral party to help resolve problems and disperse tensions without unnecessary bloodshed. One such mediator is Tin Star, whose sole mission is to bring a sense of order to the wild and wonderous green. [center][img]https://i.imgur.com/jirNliP.png[/img][/center] So, I was intentionally vague in my initial post about how this was going to be late, because I didn’t want to be seen as making excuses for myself, and I had assumed that I’d be able to wrap this up and get prizes out by Monday. Obviously, this didn’t happen, so I feel like you all deserve an explanation as to why I wound up ghosting this event. Most of it was just timing, my roommate and I are planning on moving in with the third part of our crew in September, and due to the housing market in our area, we had to start looking early. We wound up actually booking a few showings over the week of the Greenskeeper’s event, which I usually take off from work anyway, so I didn’t forsee it cutting into my management of the event as much as it actually did. At the end of the week, we managed to find the Perfect Place, and put in an application. Following that, we had a month-long back and forth with the realtors in order to finalize some contract details (For example, I have a pet snake, and as anyone who keeps reptiles can tell you, finding an understanding landlord can be a real struggle.), We only finished signing the lease and getting the payments sent a few days ago. The week after Greenskeepers, I went back to work, which normally isn’t a big deal, but I had forgotten something crucial: First week of June is also Disaster Recovery drills- I work in IT, so I’m responsible for making sure that the applications I’m responsible for are all able to be recovered and put back online within 24-48 hours, depending on necessity, and I happen to work with some Pretty Essential applications. DR is a grueling, weeklong, 24-hour work process, on top of regular work hours, on call duties, and for me personally, catching back up on the backlog of work from when I was out, plus the apartment issues detailed above. After all that, I was pretty burnt out. My hope was to get everything posted and sent out on the 23rd, I had the coding, I’d determined winners and prize distributions, I’d had all the items set up. That morning, I went out to get cupcakes for my roommate, since it was her birthday and traditionally I get her a half-dozen or so fancy cupcakes from this bakery we both love, but is extremely out of the way (I left the house at about 9:30am, I didn’t get back until 1pm, I had to order in advance and make plans since also, halfway through this month, I lost my regular bus pass, and the replacement hadn’t arrived yet.). Afternoon was going to be spent finishing this event, just in time for Brightshine. And then, walking home from the bus stop, I found this guy on the sidewalk. Anyway, I didn’t want to edge in on Brightshine either, so I waited until the end to wrap this up. It’s been an exciting month, but I appreciate your patience with me on this matter. Next year, I’m probably going to start work on this a few months earlier, rather than waiting for a theme to match to. The games usually go a LOT smoother that way, and involve a lot fewer late-night cram/editing sessions, giving me more wiggle room for these unexpected IRL events.
