A 4-Gang Fodderlocke
Caesura is a bustling wind city, full of business, travelers, culture and trade. It is a crossroads of merchants and artisans, the first stop for goods coming from the neighboring fire territory, as well as the last stop for wind-made crafts before they are sent abroad. A mesh of architectures, cultures, languages, and dragons present a colorful spectacle. But that’s just the surface. Just a few quick prods in the right districts, back alleys, or taverns can send you careening into a shadowy underbelly of gladiator fight rings, mafia racketeering, black market dragon sales, shade magic, and gang turf wars.
This is where we make our scene: in the forgotten nooks and crannies of the city, 4 gangs are trying to make their start. Who will be the last one standing? Who will strike it rich? Will any of them manage to make any darn sense?
This is a fodderlocke challenge! The concept and original rules come from Squidragon’s challenge thread, with additional rules, events, and inspirations by Alphazi, TheAwesoMew, Nelson, netherguard, and myself. Because I already have far too many rules to post, I will not be copying the basic setup into my thread- only the events and my own additional rules.
Because I like making things way too complicated for myself, I am attempting to essentially run 4 separate fodderlocke challenges at the same time, while also creating events that tie them all together so that they can affect each other’s gangs. Due to this, I have added quite a number of new events, as well as a few extra rules to make things extra spicy. For simplicity’s sake, I am not going to attempt to show pictures of every fodder that walks through here, only the ones that make it into the gangs. I am probably maybe also going to keep any formatting and writing to a minimum. I love to write, but I just don’t have time for it at the moment. And this is about training and exalting a lot of fodder. So, speed takes priority in this case.
Also, as you may be able to tell by the name and theming, the majority of my challenge will be focused around card decks rather than rolling dice. The majority of events, decisions, and effects will be determined by either drawing cards from a deck or flipping a coin. ‘Cause we’re criminals now and casinos and gambling are a thing that criminals like
