Quests & Challenges

I'm a bored gremlin! I've read a bunch of other breed out the ugly challenges and figured I'd try out my own. Here's the rules I made for myself:

1. You will start with a bank of 20kt for this challenge.
   
2. The first dragon must be from your least favorite breed on the site, and be all basic genes. It needs to be ugly; truly a dragon that should have been immediately exalted. It needs to be under 10kt.
   
3. Find it a mate! It needs to be RTB, and under 10kt. Roll a d20 (or less if there aren't enough pages) to determine the page to pick the mate from. Roll a d10 to chose the mate from that page. There's no requirement for triple genes. You get what you get.
   
4. Breed them! Roll a d(however big the hatch is) to determine your heir.
   
5. While waiting for the heir to be ready to breed, train and exalt or sell the others in order to fill back up your bank and pay for the next dragon.
   
6. Your next dragon, and every dragon following that you get for a mate, must only be bought with money in the bank. You must still roll a d20 (or lower) to determine the page, but you will get to pick from there.
   
7. No scry workshop until after the mate is purchased.
   
8. You've completed the challenge when you have a dragon that your picky nature would be willing to put on display in their lair.

So, as I was making this challenge, I realized that my first dragon qualifications actually matches my random progenitor I got when I started! Ugly, my least favorite species, and not gened! I also wanted to be able to have the dragon that started it all without keeping a bunch of ugly in my lair.. It'll also save me some money in my bank which I will keep track of at the bottom of posts. My starting dragon for this is going to be Swamp! Meet Ariella! She's actually pretty cute, and I wouldn't mind if the breed changed to a spiral. However, she's an Iri/Shim, so that's defintiely not going to get passed down. Swamp and Arriella legitimately just hatched my first multigaze dragon. I am full of indescribably emotions right now. By the gods is she hideous though. Grape and the..indescribable.. Marshmallow mated and hatched their nest today! Sadly, it was a one-egger, however, the one bab who hatched was actually really lucky! His colors are reasonable (other than his tert, though it could make a good pop if he had a tert gene), and he actually was able to pick up Daub from Marchmallow! Here's our Gen 3 heir, BerryBoy! No fair! So the only dragon with genes that might reasonably get passed down was another tundra.. ugh. But i actually have some dream dragon ideas that use paint/piebald so who knows! Berryboy and Momoka hatched their nest today, and I'm very proud of them for hatching a bab with two genes! So here's Storm in all her glory as our Gen 4 progeny (she has decent matchy colors!) No one on that page really stood out, or had colors I thought would work with Storm. But alas, here is her mate Scarab. Storm and Scarab hatched their babies a few days ago, but I got busy with hatchery prep and forgot to record their hatch. As I suspected I only had one from that three that actually kept their tertiary. But as luck would have it, I did not get that baby. My only consolation is that I at least got the baby with the pretty colors. Hello All! Aester and Odette had their eggs hatch, and they were about what I'd expect. They all kept paint, and that's it. No more genes added to any of them ;-; However, they did all keep their matchy colors (thanks Aester, whom I am definitely keeping). I probably wont get skink, which is a tad disappointing. But her secondary and tert are relatively similar to Honey's so maybe we'll be okay in color. Odette has already joined my fodderlocke game and I will try to see her reject babies for a high price. If they don't sell they'll also be joining the fodderlocke lol. Honey and Morgue had their babies today! Louis and his mate Raspberry hatched their [s]SINGULAR EGG AHHHH[/s] baby today! [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/66956209][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/669563/66956209_350.png[/img][/url] His name is Cadberry and at least he inherited eye spots, because I wanted to mess with that. The colors are nothing to be desired however. Cadberry is stuck with this stinky snapper girl, Skaul, who also has eye spots. Ghost would be neat to pick up, but honestly I just want a primary gene. The luck of the dice is causing some really wild outcomes here, i'm interested to see how it goes!
Out of curiosity, what are your favorite breeds? Just to know when you might be getting closer to a winner.
