As always, the Windswept Plateau is present to a constant (and usualy mostly plesant) stream of gusts and breezes, but this year's Jamboree there appears to be something that feels just a touch more magical in the air. Maybe the Aergate or Gale Sanctum are working at extra capacity. Maybe the Windsinger had decided to do a quick flyby of home. Maybe there was an influx of Arcane dragons who moved to the reigion recently.
Whatever the reason, the atmosphere seems to be adding an energetic charge to the festivities and there's hardly a grumpy face in sight.
Anxious faces however...

Compote closed his eyes and looked down at his by now well worn scroll with a number of crossed out lines and hasty scribbles in the margins. It was a wonder how the wildclaw could even read any of it at this point.
He knew this year he would be taking over hosting duties for Mistral Meals "without training wheels" as Ursus had put it.
However he WASN'T expecting all seven other dragons to basicaly up and ditch him entirely! Apparentaly this was the one year that everyone decided they really needed an actual Wind born dragon to run the event (though everyone in the clan was pretty sure the kitchen staff just wanted to take a vacation this year).
Well fine...if they were going to just leave him to his own devices, Compote was going to run the event the way he wanted to! Tradition be damned, he bet he could run an even better Mistral Meals! That would show Bloodstone and the others!
Shoving his list into his waistcoat pocket, Compote gave the entrance tent to the Mistral Meals clearing one last look over, before throwing up the sign to indicate they were open for entries!
And snacks. There was definately going to be more than enough to feed the spectators as well.

The Game
Welcome to Mistral Meals! This challenge is for all users out there who enjoy food and cooking, whether they have real life skills in the kitchen or not!
For those of you who have participated in this event in previous years, you'll want to give the rules a read-through this year as we have experienced a re-vamp, the most important of which is that you must sign-up to participate in the cooking challenge portion of the event! I know, this is a pretty sudden change after so many years, but I think I've managed to still preserve the core elements of the event while allowing both myself and contestants more flexibility than in years past!
More specific details will be outlined in the rules below, but Mistral Meals this year will be broken into two main sections:
Note regarding challenge updates: Challenge updates will occur around 5:00FRT, so you have until 4:30FRT to post entries. Unfortunately for the Cooking Challenge I cannot be lenient with late entries due to the tournoment format, but Daily Activity entries will be accepted up until 30 minutes after my update post (based on timestamps) to accomodate anyone in the middle of writing theirs last minute.

More specific details will be outlined in the rules below, but Mistral Meals this year will be broken into two main sections:
- The Cooking Contest will consist of 3 rounds of cooking role-play over the course of the week, and will require contestants to sign up during the week prior to the Mistral Jamboree. Each round will be 2 days long, and will require contestants to address an overall theme and include a specified ingredient. Deciding who moves onto the next round will be determined by RNG, and there are badges and a grand prize up for grabs!
- The Daily Activities will be open to anyone and will count as the entries for tickets for the raffle prizes as well as earning a small daily prize. These will not necessarily be cooking related prompts, but the more you participate the higher your odds of winning a raffle prize!

Cooking Challenge Rules
- You MUST sign up to participate in this portion of the event the week before. SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED!
- Challenge rounds will be 48 hours long. If your do not submit an entry by the 4:30FRT you will be considered a "no-show" and will automaticaly loose that round. You will still win any cosolation prizes, if applicable to the round.
- While you are not limited to using the same dragon for all three challenges, you must still submit one on the signup form to be the "team representative."
- You are only required to use one of the challenge ingredients. Beyond that you are allowed and encouraged to use other ingredients (whether they exist as in-game items or not). Assume that every potential ingredient and/or cooking device is available for your dragons to use (some of the more advanced gadgetry has been nabbed from Lightning).
- Entries are encouraged to be written as role-play, but I'll also accept recipe format, just so long as it is written in-character/associated with one of your dragons and addresses the theme of the round.
- Technically there is no word length minimum or maximum. Write whatever is most comfortable for you, so long as the two requirements (challenge theme and ingredient) are included.
- The first round will consist of 36 contestants and 18 winners. The second round will have 9 winners. The final round will have 3 winners. "No-Shows" will be factored into the results first before the RNG is applied.
- Try not to ping me unless you need to get my attention for a question or any other concern. I don't mind if you do, but I will be working my way through the thread a post at a time to make sure I don't miss anything. You can also feel free to PM me if you need to reach out for anything.
Daily Activity Rules
- Only one entry per user (including Cooking Challenge contestants), per day. Feel free to interact with my dragons or other contestants if you want to keep the RP fun going, but you only get one shot at a daily prize and raffle ticket.
- You must use at least one of your dragons in your turn, though you don’t have to use the same one all week.
- Entries are encouraged to be written as role-play, but I'll also drawings or other forms of media so long as it addresses the daily prompt.
- Technically there is no word length minimum or maximum. Write whatever is most comfortable for you, so long as the daily prompt is addressed.
- PLEASE BE PATIENT! While I will not be writing custom rp responses this year, I do still have to log entries and send participation prizes on top of a 9-5 M-F job. This new format should help with me potentialy falling too far behind, but I still won't be able to send out prizes immediately. As always I will get to everyone in order, and if a new challenge is posted and you haven't received a participation prize for your previous entry, don't worry and go ahead and reply to the new one! Prizes will be handed out in order no matter what challenge is currently active.
- Try not to ping me unless you need to get my attention for a question or any other concern. I don't mind if you do, but I will be working my way through the thread a post at a time to hand out prizes and this will be easier to keep track of more pressing issues. You can also feel free to PM me if you need to reach out for anything.
