I absolutely adore seeing other people these basic to beautiful challenges - I love seeing what kinds of crazy results people get. And now that I have a bit of lair space to work with, I've decided I want to do one of my own! So welcome to CupcakeNova's Basic Blah to Rare Beauty Challenge! I'm sure most people have seen these kinds of things before, but just in case, these are the specific rules that I've decided to follow: [LIST=1] [*]Start with a plentiful dragon with all basic genes [*]Find an opposite-gender mate who is a common breed with all 3 common genes [*]Breed them together [*]The hatchling that inherits the most upgrades becomes the new heir. If none of the hatchlings get an upgrade, I pick whichever I like the best. If multiple hatchlings tie for the number of upgrades, I may continue the challenge with both [*]All remaining hatchlings, if any, will be available for adoption if folks are interested, otherwise they'll be leveled and exalted once they're adults [*]Once the heir(s) is chosen and is RTB, a mate will be purchased from the AH with genes/breed one rarity higher than the heir [*]Keep repeating these steps until you have a Coatl or Wildclaw with 3 gem genes [/LIST] [s]These rules are based on another Basic to Rare Challenge that I have been following, but at the moment I can't remember which one it is. Chartruse/Blackberry/Navy. (I know, the names are terrible, I promise to have better names going forward :P) The lovely couple is already on a nest, with 4 eggs, so we'll see if we have a clear heir right from the get-go! Our first hatchlings are here! And we have a very clear heir right out the gate! Meet Circle! Clearly she claims the crown. (She also seems to have inherited the best colours, double nice!) And now for her siblings! The colour range on these guys is certainly going to be interesting! Circle and Rhombus will be ready to breed in 20 days, see y'all then!

A day late with posting the hatchlings, but here they are! First up, our new Heir, who inherited two upgrades! Sadly neither was a breed change, but he picked up dad's primary gene, leopard, and his secondary, noxtide! Meet Mars! It's Breeding day! Poprocks and Mars twegged me, so here's hoping one of the two snaggs an upgrade!
