Here’s some basics to start you off, if theres anything we haven’t covered here, feel free to ask Ninji or myself!
1.) If you ever decide to change flights, you only get one for free, then it costs an eyesocket of gems, so really get to know things before deciding.
2.) On your dragon you can attach familiars, theres a box for it, and a button at the bottom that says change. These are not permanent and they give you daily gold and occasionally treasure chests! They will keep the progress bar, regardless if you take them off, so you can cycle through them all on one dragon.
3.) Be careful in the market. If you decide to get gems, check the gem marketplace first. Some people like to sell things at a gem price higher than what the gem market offers. We don’t wanna see you fresh up and comings getting cheated D:
4.)
Free daily stuff other than familiars is the trading post junk pile, and “gather items”. Scavenging gets you a chance at a dragon egg, and digging gets you a chance at some treasure chests. Some items at swipps swap can be obtained all over the place, so you’ll need to decide what you wanna level as you go. Swipp is a randomly generated exchange of items for another item that is not typically obtained in the game, also located in the trading post.
5.) often used abbreviations:
AH – auction house, where things are sold by players
CR – Crossroads (aka, trading dragons)
G1 – a dragon with no parents. The first two dragons you get at the start are your progens, and they cannot be traded to anyone.
TG- triple gened- aka, no basic genes
Xxy, xyx, xyy – These refer to matching colors in a dragon. So an xxy is a dragon with the first two colors being the same, and some third color.
t or g – treasure or gems. Often times people will sell or buy gems and show a ratio (ex. 1:540, one gem for 540 treasure.)
RTB - ready to breed
[LF] looking for
[W] wanted [H] have to offer
[ S ] / [ B ] selling/buying
[A] auctioning
ID - every dragon has a unique ID number and sometimes people are searching for a specific one
Noodles- nickname for spiral dragons
SD - skydancer
6.) When breeding dragons, breeds and genes have different rarity. Two dragons of the same breed can only have a max of 4 eggs, and two different breeds can have a max of 5. There are other guides that get into detail about rarity of stuff.
7.) You can use the scrying workshop to see what your babies of two dragons will look like, if they're too genetically close to breed, or design your dream dragon. Theres also a place to enter a dragon ID in predict morphology, then hit load dragon, so you can see what a dragon you have would look like with different genes. Or change it into an adult, to see what it will look like when it ages up after 5 days. Dont get your heart set on certain breeds though if you plan on changing their breed. Imperials were a gift to the kickstarter group, so getting a breed change scroll is pretty much impossible. The breed changes for wildclaws and nocturns are not available in the shop at all, so they are very expensive, and some genes are only available if you pay for them in gems or buy them for more from a player (its usually cheaper to buy the gems from a player and get them from the gem marketplace)
8.) Your icon is based on a dragon in your lair, click the picture to see what options you have then select one of your dragons! This can be changed at any time. Just click the down arrow next to your name at the top and hit change avatar.
9.) Sometimes the scrying workshop isnt always a huge help in figuring out what the possibilities of your offspring colors are. I use
THIS site to help
10.) People have a really hard time saving money, and not spending it on the beautiful dragons. They're everywhere D: My technique is every time i get 10k i put it into my vault, which you can access from your hoard.
