Something... was going on in the Southern Icefields. Rumors of hybrid creatures, familiars that didn't quite look... familiar... abounded. Was there some type of experimenting going on in the coldest region of Sornieth?
Have you seen any?

[item=Creeping Tendril] + [item=Mirage Puffer] = Mirage Violet
Mirage Violets are surprisingly vicious, striking out at its victim if accidentally brushed. Some dragon scientists think this may be a result of its shy nature, which makes it uncomfortable around strangers, but others theorize that the Violets are just rude and by nature.
If bitten by a Mirage Violet, dragons will see double - or triple - or quadruple as a result of the venom and may sometimes experience hallucinations that the Mirage Violets are dancing and singing.
A rare variation of the violet has stripes, but most are a deep purple.

[item=Frosted Pocketmouse] X [item=Ashmane Chimera] = Ashdusted Mouse
The Ashdusted Mouse is a rather surprisingly threatening creature, unlike it's ancestor - the Frosted Pocketmouse. It grows up to 4m tall and has large canines for attacking. The creature, though herbivorous, is certainly aggressive. Rumours say the familiar was from a failed experiment from the Beastclans due to not only its behaviour towards dragons but also from its resemblance to the Ashmane Chimera which is suspected to be of Beastclan origin.
The creature is quickly populating and attacking lairs, though dragons are able to chase it out. What is alarming, however, is that they are starting to form packs. Packs can take down several dragons before being chased off, so several troops of gaolers and pest exterminators are working on capturing and culling the dangerous supply of them.
Despite all this, they are relatively easy to train once trust is gained (Hint: it requires a lot of food). They make brilliant guard-mice and are rather affectionate to other familiars and hatchlings. The cobra curled at the end of the tail is non-venomous. It instead has a sort of healing venom which scientists conclude is used to heal its host mouse.
Appearance (It isn't the most accurate/good thing but it's quick):

Though they can thrive in a variety of climates, frosted pocketmice are known for their tenacity during harsh winters.

Ashmane Chimera

This particular variety of chimera only appears in areas of the Starfall Isles where Beastclans are active, leaving some to wonder if the Clans have a hand in their creation.
