TOPIC | Looking for Long Term RP Partners-Closed
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
As the title says, I'm strictly looking for role playing partners/players who are willing to commit to a long term role play, and are even willing to pick the story back up after a generous amount of time i.e two or three weeks. So please give this some thought before you jump right in, this is also why I'm being quite vague for the story line so as not to hook people in purely based on the story line, and ask yourself if you're willing to commit to this, thank you.

Moving on...

I've got a basic outline for the rules of what this future role play will be, and here they are:

a.) There will be humanoid beings (if a partner wants one) available as well as dragons
b.) Multiple storylines (if this becomes longer than expected) that (hopefully) intersect
c.) The stories have a cause-and-effect wave upon each other Ex: Steal the cursed Gem from a evil lord or lady, and as an effect the court will be less willing to believe your story
d.) Think of Dragon Age: Origins where your decisions will have a ripple effect with the entire story

I haven't decided where the story will take place but I am open for suggestions, so please ping me if you have a comment, suggestion, or are willing to join.

Sounds very interesting.

I have been Rping for years. Playing humans, transformers, dragons, elfs, angels, werewolfs, naga's, centaurs, necromancers, warlocks and I am bound to forget a few.

Most of the rps I have been in where those with multiple story lines. More interesting that way. Some rps I have been in went months between posts depending on how real life kepts the others busy.

There might be a few spelling errors though as english is not my native language. Only way to learn is to practice

If you're still looking for a RP partners, I'm open to it. I've only recently started doing 1x1's, but I have done long term RPs before. I'm 100% with however long it takes to reply. That is actually preferred, as I'm renovating my home and then moving during the next few months. I'll still be available just about every night and most days, so don't get too worried about that. (I also go through brief phases where I just feel no will to write ever and it's really refreshing to hear that you're willing to have lapses in replies. =D)

I'm a huge fan of high fantasy and regular fantasy stories, so a humanoid/dragon RP would be cool. I play Skyrim and DA/DA:I, so I'm familiar with those cause and effect type scenarios.

Do you have a specific plot in mind or were you hoping to kind of make one? Like I said, I'm a big fantasy fan so anything will probably sound good. I like LotR-type scenarios, though, where the characters go on exciting journeys and meet all sorts on their travels. Very fun. =)

I'm a pretty flexible person, so if you would like me to change anything, I totally can. If you want my tone to be more or less serious, that also works. I just wanna RP. lol

To Vipor: I don't think it's a problem if you prefer male characters over female characters, so don't feel the need to play a female character if you're not sure. :)

That sounds interesting. When you have the time and if you would be willing to, please post the basic information about them in this forum post. You don't have to go in depth about anything unless you would like to.

To Mypilot: That's good to hear, and I'll keep that in mind as well. I sometimes go through blank phases where I just do not know what to write too. I have a semi-plot in the making, especially when I'm writing this reply, but I honestly hope that it's going to have... depth to it. It's hard to describe but, basically I would like layers, if that makes any sense, to the story. In the previous role plays that I've participated in they've been fun but possessed flat or predictable story lines that I really, really, wanted to throw a wrench into to see what would happen but they usually lost traction by the time I wanted to do that sadly.

Generally, I'm a serious writer, meaning that I do look for depth in my characters and their interactions with the world around them, but that doesn't mean I'm not hesitate to throw a bit of satire and comedy in once and a while! :D

To Dunkarooba: That's good to hear! Thanks for being interested in joining!

To All: If you prefer, we can discuss and create a skeleton plot line and then expand upon when we're actually role playing. Honestly, I have a very loose idea of what I want the plot line to be and when I think it over, I don't think it's a very strong one, so if you have any ideas please feel free to share.

If you have any other suggestions, comments, concerns, or maybe just want to share your characters, feel free to flood this forum with words! :D

I'll start off with character introductions since I've already used them for a previous RP, that has sadly died out despite my attempts to bring it back to life. Name: Vayle Hair Color: Silver Eye Color: Midnight Blue Skin Color: Ivory Race: Elf Age: 14 Gender: Female Occupation: Assassin Appearance: A young girl about 5'2, Vayle can be picked out from the crowd with her waist length silver hair and piercing midnight blue eyes that are nearly expressionless. A few tattoos decorate her body but are hidden from plain sight, as well as a few scars from her training as an assassin. She's generally glad in a modified black trench coat, black slacks, a white shirt, a plain black leather belt, and a sapphire that's been carved in the shape of a dragon's fang. Her trench coat is her signature apparel and is modified by specific cuts: the tail of the coat is disconnected from the coat and hangs off of her waist by her belt and can be removed from the belt anytime she wants leg freedom. The rims of the tail are decorated with white runes that appear to be magically inscribed into the black fabric. Personality: Aloof, is the one word that could accurately describe Vayle in just one word. As an assassin, she's been drilled to be distant from those around her since life can change in just a single second. However, if a situation arises where she cannot be her usual guarded self, others have noted that she can slip on masks as easily as a snake can shed its skin. Occasionally, Vayle will make sarcastic remarks but that's generally reserved when she's not on an assignment, unless it calls for it, or with her friends. It should be noted that because of her personal experiences, Vayle is much more mature than others her age and is very awkward around others who are her age since she's never experienced a 'normal' childhood. Unless, of course, the activity itself is of a devious nature. Thus, Vayle avoids children with every fiber of her being and if she's forced into a situation where she can't escape, the result is a very agitated assassin who makes her distaste known by brooding in the corner and avoid talking to the children. Skills: As an assassin, Vayle is well versed in observational skills, critical analyzing skills, acting skills, improvisational skills, and combat. History: Not much is known about the elf's past, except that she was raised to be an assassin by her parents through brutal methods of conditioning. Extra: As an assassin, Vayle is trained in hand-to-hand combat, close quarters combat with daggers and a sword, long ranged combat with a bow, poisons, and she's gained the "skill" of patching herself up after an injury. Name: August Race: Male Fae Dragon Element: Arcane-turned-Shadow Personality: Like his attire suggests, August is a smooth-talker who also has the habit of gambling. Quick thinking and sarcastic, the fae is the comedic relief for Vayle after a hard contract that didn't work out according to plan. Unknown to all except the assassin and her group of dragons, August likes to 'experiment' with people and see what makes them 'tick'- find what motivates them through questions or comments that are aimed to get a reaction no matter what. Using his ill-gained information, August will often manipulate his 'victims' for his own personal amusement but will perform his 'services' when the others ask him to either for a contract or just to get some petty revenge. History: August's story intertwined with Vayle's when he came upon the elf ending one of her contracts and striking up a conversation with the dangerous elf. It is a wonder to many, and considered a legend to some, how and why their friendship started. Extra: August loves to make exaggerated stories of Vayle's 'adventures' but to keep the elf safe, he's changed her name, her contact's identities, and her character's personality in the stories- instead he's made the character have a personality more like himself. He's also a lover of the trinkets she'll loot from her contacts and sweets. Name: Natasha Race: Female Mirror Dragon Element: Shadow Personality: Most who meet Natasha describe her as a charming dragon with a unique style of fashion but for those who know Natasha well enough are aware that the mirror is also a devious trickster who will resort to petty and serious tricks against those who cross her. History: Natasha was the first dragon Vayle ever encountered as a child and was a life-long friend of the family who would often assist them with assassinations or taking care of Vayle when both parents where busy. Thus, Vayle and Natasha share a special bond forged by blood, sweat, betrayal, and trust. Extra: Natasha's favorite treasure is jewelry that is laced with rubies or garnets- anything red pleases her. She also loves the smell of roses and will cheekily have Vayle's baths trapped with a bucket filled with rose petals above which flips the petals into the elf's bath when she steps into the bath. After the first time, Vayle accepted it as one of those habits that Natasha has- as well as being a kleptomaniac.

Please note that if any of you would like to use a custom made dragon that's not from the Flight Rising website, then feel free. I simply used August and Natasha for a mixture of convenience and character exploration.

@Detroness
A group of my charries. A few more wanted to join in.
Unless needed I will not bring them all in at the same time.
And I have played females before, they just come less natural and always end as tomboys.

Very basic.
Damien, dark elf thief/occasional assasin.
Avarage looks overall, adult.
His main weapon is a bow, but he is good enough with knives if he has to. Very antisocial personality, but very patience when needed. Can stake out a spot for days for the perfect moment to sneak in and steal items. On rare occasions he will take on assasinations, but those are very rare cases. In his eyes a thief is without skill if he is spotted or is forced to kill someone.

Lucian, human dragon rider/guard.
Shorter than avarage, young adult.
Most of the time very light hearted, but when his friends/dragon/bosses/charge/coworkers are threatend he can flip to a concentrated fighting mode. Only paying attention to who he has to kill or atleast hinder to protect the others. But if he can help it, he is silly and cheerfull. Mostly skilled with swords.

Shade
Black dragon, firebreathing
Mostly skilled in using his fire, claws, wings and weight to fight.
Arrogant would be a compliment. He fully believes he is better than everything else. Not very social because of this. Yet he can endure Lucian...most of the time. The best reason why he is more calm around Lucian is because he doesn't see himself as a slave to the human. The human is his possesion and the tasks they are send to are just to keep him from being to bored.

Morius
High elf advisor
He loves to involve himself near the highest ranking. Offering advice whenever he can, yet he will never truely step up to take over ruling the land/city. After all the one seen ruling tends to be the one targeted for asasination.
The only weapons he has is a razorsharp wit and a good ear for info that can be used in blackmailing.

Ma'kel
Human guard
Slightly taller than avarage.
Stoick in behavior and skilled in swordfighting. Capable leader and only devouted to his work.

Well the best thing might be to start with is pick/design a major city where most of it takes place. Before we all start all over the land and take 10 pages just to get to the same location.

Some rank system. Who rules the city. As a king/queen/major/ parlement.

Is there just one army to take care of everything or is there an army against outside threats, normal guard as cops and a royal guard for the elite of the city, or do they have private bodyguards? (It is nice to know who to blackmail or if they have a ingrain hatered for a certian group)
Are all equal or which race is demed to be the best.

Racial tension?

Guilds?

Why yes I am a pain in the butt.

Multiple religions with added tensions? Or one legal religion and the rest banned and preformed in hidden nooks and crannies.

Is there a main thing we are working towarts/against? Like gather X amount of relics for Y gods to recreate a seal to seal out a terrible evil. If so, is this terrible evil known to most or considert an old wives tale (Aka relics mostly in temples or in some elite's pantry)

Does the leading class even want out guys to do this or will we be classed as criminals more often than not?

And I take it if group A is willing to help us with something, group B will be against us just because group A likes us unless we do a certian task wich means group C will hate us. Multiplied with complications 100.

Ooooh, I thought this was a 1x1 RP. ^.^ Small groups also work well, so this should be fun!

I don't have any humanoid OC's (I usually create them on the spot), but I do have some ideas for dragon character's. I'll post their character dealios later since I've got plans for today.

Well, if you don't have any solid plot ideas then I'm just gonna throw some out there and see which one's swing best with you guys. (Be warned, though, my writing tends to get more loose when I'm story planning. Lol)

The first thing that came to mind was a "save the world" type scenario. I was thinking something along the lines of a cursed land or something wherein a select area/zone is left on the brink of destruction. The curse could be anything, really, like aging them faster, or trapping them within an invisible wall, or stopping the births of children, or etc, etc, etc. Our heros have to travel throughout the lands surrounding this one cut off area in order to find a way to fix this curse. Maybe it's through appeasing some frankly rude witch/magi or whatever, or maybe it's through finding some strange inanimate object. Who knows.

The second could focus more on a villain. So perhaps there are separate kingdoms/cities/holds and each kind of has it's own specialization in trade and the like, but as with all things the politics is kind of only held together by the mutual shared want to not die horribly in war. Maybe one kingdom/king is like "Yeah well I do what I want" and decides he wants more trade rights/routes and goes on this big ol' rampage to get what he wants cause he's a big man-baby.

The third idea can revolve around the group instead, not even bringing in the conflict until everyone is settled. Like, we're all brought together for a reason (call it destiny, fate, a circle of intelligent people who decide our characters belong together, whatever) and they have to first learn how to work together/navigate through their new life. Meanwhile, or perhaps even while trying to master their new lives, they run into the conflict. Who knows what that could be. Maybe a friend turning sour or disease, or war, or anything stated in the previous ideas.

The fourth idea is less conflicty. Sort of. It starts out with our characters having unstellar aspirations and tasks. Maybe they all work together to collect bounties on monsters/undesirable people and that's kind of enough for them. They could do this for awhile, hopscotching around the country, until they're faced with a brute they can't defeat so easily. This idea can be more about the journey and character development. (Not that the others are unable to get that.)

This is all just crud I pulled out of the top of my head. Maybe you guys have got plenty more suggests, or even one's that build off mine. I'm game for whatever. =D
