Hi! This is my second roleplay, and my first time starting one, so any help is appreciated. I'm working to get some lore down for one of the dragons in my clan, and if that's what you're trying to do too, great! Or if not, that's great too! Everybody join! :D Just a heads up, there will be some blood, but otherwise there can be pretty much any genre. Be nice, no god-modding, and keep responses more than just one or two sentences. It'd be nice if you responded at least once a day, but I know life can get in the way, so it's no problem if you miss a few days. ________________________________________________________________________________ Current Players (will be updated as more people join/leave) @Leopardmask - Character on pg. 1 @Tadi - Character on pg. 4, 9, [s]33[/s] [s]47[/s] [s]91[/s] 110, & 141 @Orgetzu - Character on pg. 2 @Emordnilap - Character on pg. 1, 29, & [s]64[/s] @DragonDraws - Character on pg. 28, [s]58[/s], 82, & [s]116[/s] 132 @Abernackles - Character on pg. 121 @Derparoo - Character on pg. 201 Pages that are struck through are where a character has been introduced, but they have since been cycled out of the rp. Personality: Social, talkative, and friendly, but with a legendary temper. Luckily, it takes a lot to get him to that point, but when he does... let's just say you shouldn't be near him.
Other: Nothing, really.

The coatl huddled inside a large cluster of bamboo. A large amount of fresh blood covered his feathers, adding another layer to the dried blood underneath. He was surprised that he had managed to lose the scouts, but for now he was just relieved to still be alive. He winced at his wing. Probably broken...

He had to get out of here. He couldn't go back to his clan, not after that, and the scouts were sure to find him if he continued to stay here. Pushing himself upwards, Flechte peeked his head out of the bamboo, scanning the area around him. Night was falling, and the Reedcleft Ascent was home to many creatures that could down full-grown dragon, especially smaller ones like himself. And feral creatures and his clan weren't the only dangers out here.

There were other dragons, too.

They regard other dragons with a measured, baffled indifference, as if they're unable to see the point of being near them, and only truly seem comfortable - if one can consider bloodlust comfortable - when focused on tracking and killing their prey. They're very clear that fighting is the only thing that they're good at, and this coupled with their generally one-track-mind attitude leads to a largely solitary existence. Other (optional): They have a longer profile on their bio.

((@Toriel Hey, thanks for joining! :D ))

Flechte pulled his head back into the bamboo.

Well, it's now or never. Might as well be now.

He tiptoed his way out of the stalks, his body and head low, eyes continuously flitting over every detail around him. His right wing was drooping, the lower bone at an odd angle. Weaving his way through the clusters of bamboo, he made his way north. Blood kept spilling and pooling at his feet with each step, leaving a crimson trail behind him. Hopefully it'll dry soon, or else they'll be able to find me soon. I should find a river...

He strayed from his path, deciding to go to the brook that he used to play in as a hatchling. No dragons should be there now, they'd all be far away looking for him.

As he walked, however, he thought he felt something. It felt as though he was being watched...

@Emordnilap ((You're welcome!)) Chara was sitting in a high-up cave, pacing. They couldn't bring themselves to stay still, and their claws scraped into the stone over and over again as they thought. If they stayed in the cave until dawn, the fog would make them wet and miserable. The thought of staying, the thought of waiting another day, was even more repugnant. They had to leave now, and cross the border before the sun rose. The clean-cut facts, the planning, took Chara’s mind off the fact that their mouth tasted like blood and that the undersides of their claws were dirty with Tundra fur. They could still hear the screaming, the rasp of bone on bone. They'd known, with terrible certainty, that they were going to kill him. Up north was Plague territory, where near-feral dragons and Mirror packs lived in disorder. Red-eyed villains - demons - lived there, said to have gone mad with disease. It was where someone like them belonged. In the end, Chara didn’t really care where they ended up — it didn’t really matter. They just wanted to get away. The salty warmth of blood touched their tongue, then filled their mouth. A second later Chara heard the soft rasp of grass being crushed underfoot. They raced to the entrance of the cave-ridge and looked down. It was a Coatl, just one, swaying almost drunkenly as he made his way to the brook. Their wing hung uselessly by their side, and a trail of blood marked their meandering route through the grass. Chara found themselves straining to hear any commotion in the distance, though it was useless: from their perch, they would see any pursuers before they heard them, if they did at all. They walked out of the cliff, adjusted their bracers, and jumped down. The mud was still marked with their footprints from when they'd washed their paws in the stream. They bared their fangs at the newcomer (no sound as the skin tore, blood rushing into their mouth as they pulled) and bent their head to drink.

He doesn't initiate conversation much, or talk much in general, but occasionally someone can get more than a couple sentences out of him. He's a bit of an older dragon, so he isn't as agile as he used to be. Other: I'd like to apply one of my favorite quotes, from a favorite show: "I do not seek conflict - but I shall not avoid it." In other words, Al won't get into unnecessary fights but if one happens he can still kick butt.

((@Toriel @Leopardmask Oops, sorry, I had written this before I got your ping. Welcome!))

Flechte jumped, startled at the newcomer's sudden appearance, regretting the movement instantly as pain tore down his wing. Warily, he stepped a few feet away, keeping an eye on the other coatl. They smelled faintly of blood, older than the blood on his own feathers, warning him that this dragon was no stranger to violence.

He slipped into the water, it's coolness flowing over him and rinsing away the blood. It felt nice, having the water cleanse him of any evidence of what he'd done. If only it would take away the memories...

The river pulled at his injured wing, and he nearly cried out, but instead he bit his tongue. Flechte pulled himself out of the water, both because most of the blood had been washed away and because he wanted it to stop pulling his wing. The entire time he had kept the other dragon in his peripherals as they drank from the stream, and now that he was done with his 'bath' he decided that he might as well ask who they were. After taking a small gulp, he began quietly humming a series of notes in Coatl,

Who are you?

@Emordnilap

When the other Coatl approaches, Chara is tempted to splash them, or growl, or both. Instead they finish their drink and keep a eye on them as they wade deeper into the water, closing their eyes in evident pleasure as the stream sweeps around them both.

Chara preens themselves, staying near the bank, eyes half-closed, and only open their eyes when they hear splashing. Water drips off the other dragon's feathers in steady rivulets. Without the red, the smell of the air is cleaner, and Chara finds themselves relaxing incrementally despite themselves.

The Coatl pipes out a two-note hum, then looks at them, green eyes bright in the light of the moon.

"What?" Chara says. Then, in clear Standard Draconic; "I wasn't born here. I can't understand you."

Flechte furrows his brows at the coatl's response. He begins to hum again, but stops himself, forcing a cough. Then he begins to speak in Draconic.

"Sorry, it's a bit of a habit, besides I don't think I've met a fellow coatl who doesn't speak Coatl. My question was: Who are you?"

He waited with his head tiled slightly, still slightly wary. How much do they know?

@Emordnilap

Who are you? That's a stupid question that doesn't even sound like a question. With anyone they knew before, this would be the opportunity for a stupid pun, or a deliberate battle of wordplay. But this sounds like a formality. Chara narrows their eyes.

"I'm just passing through. I'm not planning on telling anyone that you came through here, if that's what you wanted to know. What kind of question is that?"
