Xander groaned and fell back against a tree, slowly letting himself slide down to a sitting position. He looked at his bag and shook his head. Only one pokeball actually holding a pokemon. And it was a starter! With a sigh he reached in and called out his totodile, the blue critter tilting its head at him in curiosity.
He smiled and gave his partner a little pat, earning a happy response and a cuddle from pokemon. "Yeah, you did good. It's not your fault all we keep seeing are grass types. Once we get outta here I promise we'll finally win one and add to our team, k?" He picked up the pokemon so they could be eye level as he finished.
"Totodile!" came the happy response and it eased Xander's sour mood.
"Then lets go!" He jumped to his feet and set down his totodile, letting him walk beside himas he started back on the trail. "Guess I should name you too huh? Had you for three days..." He pondered a name and spaced out as he walked.

Ender walked the road with her snivy and the new addition, riolu."What should I call you snivy?"Ender said and thought hard about the name of her first pokemon."How about Duchess?"Ender said finally.The snivy now named Duchess, nodded quickly and was glad about being named.
"Now what about you Riolu?"Riolu pointed to his cobalt fur.Ender was confused about what he was trying to say."Oh you want your name to be Cobalt right?"Ender said.Cobalt nodded, and just like Duchess, he was excited to be named.

Ender was walking with Duchess and Cobalt when she noticed a boy and a Totodile walking towards her.Duchess ran up ahead but Cobalt being the sensible one stayed behind with Ender.Ender sighed and walked with Cobalt to Duchess.(Who was trying to play with the Totodile.)

Riptide jumped as a Snivey suddenly came at him, quickly ducking behind Xander and nearly making the boy trip. "Hey now, whoa!" He stumbled glaring down at his feet and noticing the grass type. He looked up as he heard a voice talking to him. "The snivey's yours than, Ender. Cute name for her. I'm Xander, and this scardey totodile is Riptide." The pokemon looked up and pouted at being called scared, making Xander chuckle.
