Seize of the Falcon

Capture! While returning to the rebel base with valuable information on the plans of the GALACTIC EMPIRE, rebel leader HAN SOLO has been captured by BOUNTY HUNTERS wishing to collect on the price placed on the smuggler's head by the infamous crime lord JABBA THE HUTT.

Meanwhile, a SPY hidden deep within the Rebellion's ranks has relayed the details of the smuggler's capture back to the evil GALACTIC EMPIRE.

Now it is a race against time to see who will get to the haggard smuggler first, and with the price on Solo's head, there is no knowing who else could be on the hunt...

Rules:

1. Common RP courtesy rules apply. (No Power Playing, God Moding, etc.)

A note on the Force: Because the Force lends itself to Power Playing/God Modding, there are a few specific rules on it:

*Reading Other People's Thoughts and Feelings: As long as you only take from what's posted in the RP and not what's said on the OOC board, go for it: fair game.

*On Force Pushes, Throwing Things With the Force, etc.: Things like this are treated like any other attack; that is, you can tell us your character did it and even what they intended to happen, but leave exactly what happens to the victimized character.

*On Force Chokes, Pulls, Grabs, etc.: Because these can't be "dodged," per say, these have to be handled a little differently. If you want to perform a choke, hold, grab, etc. on someone's character, just pop on over to the OOC Board and clear it with that character's author first.

2. Canon characters and OC's are both totally fine. After all, the majority of the films' casts were extras!

3. If you're going to choose a canon character, just make sure they're alive first, and check to see approximately what rank they'd be during 2 ABY (see below for resource).

4. You're welcome to play as many characters as you feel you can handle.

5. Typos happen, but please double-check your posts for spelling and grammar errors before you post them.

6. To that end, no chatspeak.

7. I'm not a stickler on post length: just make sure you give us enough to go on. Actions and words are key, but thoughts and feelings are half the fun!

8. Please keep the RP in the PG-PG13 range. Bad things can happen, but there's no need for gratuitous detail.

9. Please be decent to each other OOC.

10. Have fun; it's a Star Wars RP!

Any information you could ever need can be found on the Wookieepedia. You'll want to look in the Legends tab.

*Currently, this RP is Selectively Open. We are still in need of one character: Han Solo. If you're interested in joining as him, you can hop on over to our OOC Board and give the first post a read through.

Character Descriptions

Imperials

Name: Maximilian Veers

Age: 50

Species: Human

Affiliation: Galactic Empire

Occupation: Major General - Death Squadron

Height: 1.93m [About 6'3"]

Personality: Stoic, ruthless vs. Rebellion, deeply loyal

Physical Description: Fit & stocky light-haired human male

Additional Note: Wookie Page!

Name: Firmus Piett

Age: 41

Species: Human

Affilliation: Galactic Empire

Occupation: Captain of the SSD Executor

Height: 1.65m [About 5'5"]

Personality: Clever, cunning and incredibly loyal to the Empire, this imperial captain and the smuggler actually have a small bit of history. Their first meeting, predictably, did not go well, and Piett is not interested in letting Solo get away, again.

Physical Description: Short and frankly, scrawny. Piett has grey-blue eyes and short brown hair, which is always kept extremely neat. The captain, of course, wears the standard Imperial Navy Officers' uniform, including the optional short, black gloves.

Additional Note: Wookie Page!

Name: Mirkala Kisko

Age: 13 (young sithy!)

Species: Miraluka

Affiliation: Galactic Empire

Occupation: Inquisitor

Height: 1.27m [About 4'2"] (she tiny)

Personality: She is very quiet, and anti-social. She's also a little shy, and prone to getting upset, and has an overprotective nature over any kind of toy, for some reason. Mirkala is also pretty smart than she lets on.

Physical Description: Link!

Additional Note: Since she is a Miraluka, being a Sith greatly disorientates her Force Sight(a skill to see using the Force), and gives her hallucinations, and so on, she usually doesn't fight others, and acts as if she isn't Sith, but if it calls for it, she will.

Additional Note: Wookiee Page on the Miraluka

Additional Note: Wookie Page on Imperial Inquisitors

Name: Tamlin Ash

Age: 30

Species: Human

Affiliation: Galactic Empire

Occupation: Storm Trooper Captain

Height: 1.78m [About 5'10"]

Personality: Generally cool and collected, Captain Ash is just about the epitome of the average joe. He did his work, knows his studies and is really just trying to do the right thing, and he's made sure he knows how to get it done. Obviously well trained and good at following orders, Ash isn't opposed to improvising either because he's seen the other side pull some things that definitely weren't in the manual. And they worked.

The Rebellion, as far as he's concerned, is a bad idea being executed by idealistic people in a galaxy that is far too real for any of their ideas to work. Now, if only they weren't so good at blasting his men to bits...

Physical Description: Tall, but stocky, Ash has a dusty-blonde hair with green eyes set above a small nose on a very square face. Under normal circumstances you'd see him in the typical armor required by his job, but for this mission, the captain will be heading out in a blue coat over an off white shirt with a pair of black pants and black boots on bottom.

Name: Faris Rigby

Age: 33

Species: Human

Affiliation: Galactic Empire

Occupation: Stormtrooper

Height: 1.80m [About 5'11"]

Personality: Rigby is a clever individual with a good helping of street smarts. Growing up on Corellia, rife with turbulence during the Clone Wars and beyond, Rigby learned out of necessity how to get by in a rough environment. This caused two things. One: it made him very good with a knife and taught him always to keep one on him. Two: it made him patient enough to wait for the right moment to use it. Rigby learned a long time ago not to push a situation farther than you need to and not to play a hand to soon.

Rigby was a draftee, but he is nevertheless loyal to the Empire. The Rebellion, in his eyes, is just looking for trouble. They're pushing way too hard and way too fast to do anything but make a mess, and frankly, he's seen enough mess for one lifetime.

Physical Description: Tall and fit, as are most troopers, beneath the mop of black hair that he keeps just under the length restriction, Rigby has a long, rectangular face with features to match and just a wrinkle or two more than you'd expect. He's also collected a scar or two. Most of them are not terribly serious. In fact, the only one that really sticks out is the one running along the right side of his jaw. He's pretty proud of that one, but he won't tell anyone how he got it (He likes to watch them guess.).

While on duty, Rigby can be found, naturally, in his armor - at least usually, but for this occasion, he has donned a pair of black boots and blue pants with a white shirt and a simple, black leather jacket on top.

Additional Note: Rigby speaks Bothese fluently, a skill he picked up in school and for some reason never forgot. He doesn't really use it often (Why, in his line of work, would he?), but it never filtered out of his brain after he graduated. Oddly, it does come in handy every now and again, seemingly at random. Mostly it just gets used to mutter about new recruits in a language they won't understand.

Name: Olagzeli (Darth Sion)

Age: 42

Species: Twi'lek

Affiliation: Galactic Empire

Occupation: Inquisitor

Height: 1.68m [About 5'6"]

Personality:

Physical Description: Link!

Additional Note: Olagzeli has a double-sided light saber much like Darth Maul.

Name: Ropal “SpecTrum” Harido

Age: 31

Species: Rodian

Affiliation: Ostensibly Rebel Alliance (Actually Galactic Empire)

Occupation: Lieutenant - SpecForce Infiltrator (Imperial Infiltration Agent)

Height: 1.7m [About 5’ 7”]

Personality: When not in the midst of a mission, Ropal is of a reserved and distant disposition to those he engages with, typically other Infiltrators in his regiment. However, for any matter involving the Galactic Empire, he is every bit as cunning and ruthless as the rumors say. Renowned among rebels for his unyielding determination, there are no lengths to which he would not go to wreak havoc upon the Empire. He applies in equal measures his sharp intellect and instinctual Rodian ferocity to accomplish this. His hatred for the Empire is as unbounded as his persistence to annihilate it. Of course, this perception of him extends only to those few with whom he works directly. All others know him solely through stories of his exploits, tales wrought with terror and awe of “SpecTrum the shadow.”

(This description of his personality is a facade, a persona that he assumes for the sake of his ulterior motives as an entrenched double agent. For all intents and purposes, this will be an accurate portrayal of him, though his thoughts might reflect otherwise.)

Physical Description: Ropal’s lean form and teal reptilian skin are almost entirely concealed by the custom-made shadowsuit that covers all but his seemingly star-speckled eyes (Modeled after Onaconda Farr). When he is not donning his infiltration attire, however, he is fairly unremarkable physically in comparison to other Rodians, and as a result is not one to attract unusual attention.

Additional Note: Originally a prodigious hunter from Rodia with a knack for stealth and strategy, Ropal wanted more than to participate in the tribal wars between Rodian clans or in life as a bounty hunter. He sought to distinguish himself by working for the Galactic Empire, and quickly established himself in their Infiltration Division. He has since been involved in his most ambitious mission yet, infiltrating the rebel SpecForces and eventually gaining access to intelligence from Alliance High Command itself. Securing the capture of Han Solo by imperial forces through exposing his last-known whereabouts would be among Ropal's most prominent successes as a double agent. Conversely, by working directly with the SpecOps team responsible for rescuing Solo, Ropal would be credited with his safe return and would be in a better position to glean further information from the Rebel Alliance.

Nobody knows exactly how the moniker “SpecTrum” came to be, but the leading theory among Imperial troops who have been on the receiving end of his work is that it is a reflection of his resourcefulness, and the plethora of weapons that he can wield with fatal precision. Fellow SpecForce operatives are of the belief that it alludes to his ability to see the infrared light spectrum during the week of Infiltrator training in which recruits were operating in complete darkness. Regardless of the nature of its conception, it is a name that Ropal has wholeheartedly adopted, to the exclusion of his birth name, which is a constant reminder of his contradicting lives.

Rebels

Name: Nadra Kor

Age: 24

Species: Mon Calamari

Affiliation: Rebel Alliance

Occupation: Intelligence Agent

Height: 1.40m [About 4'7"]

Personality: Nadra has been told many a time she fits every stereotype of a naive Rebel,
but she knows her devout devotion to the Rebellion stems from her past. Her parents were killed when the Empire invaded and occupied Mon Cala, her home planet. She views her work as bringing justice to the Empire for their deaths. Outside of work, she's outspoken and friendly, on good terms with many in the Alliance. The Empire? Not so much.

Physical Description: Nadra is a Mon Calamari from the northern poles of the planet, which led to her grayish-white coloration, flecked with black spots. Even for a Mon Calamari, she is fairly short, but makes up for it with her stocky build. Typically, she wears unassuming brown and grey civilian wear, along with a synthflesh prosthetic hand thanks to an encounter with a garrison some years back.

Additional Note: Wookiee page on Mon Calamari!

Name: Jacelyn Ash

Age: 26

Species: Human

Affiliation: Rebel Alliance

Occupation: Special Operations (SpecOps)

Height: 1.68m [About 5'6"]

Personality: Spunky is perhaps the best word to describe this rebel. Driven may be the second best. Generally cheery and outgoing when she's not on the job, in a firefight, this SpecOps agent falls nearly silent, intensely focused on the moment-to-moment. As a rule, Jacelyn likes to keep her eyes on all of the options so she can pick the best one, and she is always keeping an eye out for options outside of the ones presented, which has lead to a knack both for finding the safest route across a battlefield and finding a quick way out of a bad situation. She can also be a bit of a fast-talker, if she's given the chance, which may or may not come in handy on this mission.

Physical Description: Lithe and agile, Jacelyn is an athletic type. She tends to keep her auburn hair tied up in a high ponytail when it's not braided under a helmet. Jacelyn too inherited the green eyes and small nose that run in her family; her face, however, is heart-shaped, and much softer. In an effort to blend in with the worn-out crowd of the mining colony, Jacelyin is wearing a rough-looking moss-green cloak over a dingy tan tunic and a pair of brown pants and boots.

Additional Note: Jacelyn and Tamlin are siblings. She knows he's Imperial, and for obvious reasons he doesn't know she's joined the Rebellion. She doesn't think or talk about that situation much because she doesn't want anyone thinking she's conflicted. She made her choice; he made his, and that's where she leaves it.

Name: Richard Traaln

Age: 26

Species: Human

Affiliation: Rebel Alliance

Occupation: Rebel Medic and Saboteur

Height: 1.83m [About 6'0"]

Personality: Quiet, kind, loyal to rebellion and its cause and willing to take risks to aid the mission.

Physical Description: Has short brown hair, wears the standard rebel soldier fatigues with medical supplies and explosives. He has an average muscle build, blue eyes and short, almost 5 o'clock shadow facial hair.

Additional Note: Joined the Rebellion early in the war to free the galaxy, hates most imperials but once used Scout Trooper armor to deceive imperial soldiers on Tatooine.

Bounty Hunters and Rogues

Name: Zraid (Zer-AH-d)

Age: 27

Species: Rattataki-Human Hybrid

Affiliation: Herself

Occupation: Bounty Hunter

Height: 1.73m [About 5' 8"]

Personality: Zraid is a violent soul. She's crass, rude, and loves to pick fights with anyone--and I do mean anyone. She's undyingly socially awkward, almost to the point of it being comical, as she's not used to being around people who want to simply talk. Excitable and actually kind of cheeky, Zraid loves toying with her opponents and enjoys riling them up. She's cautiously confident, but sometimes gets swept up in the rush and thrill of a fight. Zraid is a fantastic strategizer, but is even better at improvising. She's not afraid to speak her mind, and is often very blunt about her opinions. She's painfully vengeful, and loves to watch enemies squirm under her boot. One might say she's a tad sadistic, and... honestly, you wouldn't be wrong.

Physical Description: Link! Being half human, Zraid has a patch of hair on her head--which her father did not approve of and voiced this many times over to his daughter, but she promptly ignored him over the years--and has the traditional tattoos that Rattataki are given at a young age, to identify what Clan they're from. Hers is somewhat different from her father's, as he married a human, and they decided to alter the design a tad. Her skin is a chalk white, and her eyes are a hard, stony blue. Zraid is actually quite solid, despite her thin looking frame, and is built more for agility. Though, don't be fooled--she can pack quite the punch.

Additional Notes: Zraid grew up on some backwater planet with her overbearing and spiteful father, she became hateful thanks to his influences. She left the mountainous planet at age nineteen, and never looked back. She never really knew her mother, as the woman disappeared or died when Zraid was roughly six years old. She finds it odd that her parents would go through all the trouble to have a child, just to mistreat her and practically abandon her. She holds a strong grudge against her parents, and often wishes she was pure Rattataki or pure human, but she doesn't really complain about it that much. - Zraid has an Anooba as a pet and guard dog, named Kugra. He's vicious to anyone but his mistress, and loves scratches behind his left ear. He wears a black spiked collar, and his fur is the average blue-gray with darker stripes. His eyes are a frightening amber-gold.

Name: Vurkol Kuk (Prefers to go by Kuk)

Age: 20

Species: Kaleesh

Affiliation: Credits and Respect

Occupation: Bounty Hunter

Height: 1.78m [About 5'10"]

Personality: Kuk is driven by several factors that stem from each other -- gain recognition, glory, and credits -- and her personality reflects her drive to gain those things. Kuk is focused. She doesn't mess around when it comes to her reputation or her credits. In short, she is unconditionally dedicated in her career, and that drive manifests itself throughout her personality. Her work ethic is often almost disturbing to those she works with, as she seems to pour her entire being into her jobs. That dedication to the job carries causes Kuk to be willing to risk just about anything to pull off a job.

The best way to describe her demeanor is brooding, and with a glance at her it seems obvious that the gears in her head are constantly churning. Every action, large or small, Kuk is carefully considering its impacts on her goals. She precisely calculates the best course of action in her mind before even moving. Kuk comes off cold and harsh to everyone she comes across, her constant thinking causes her to only speak when she needs to, and for everything she says to come across short. Her nature as a woman of few words often makes her seem rude.

Physical Description: Body Shape (Above but a little more feminine, though still pretty muscular.). Head

In comparison to the provided headshot, Kuk has a face that is much closer to the normal human size, and only has two small tusks on either side of her chin without the two larger ones shown in the picture. Beneath the mask, she has thin lips and a wide nose that turns upwards a bit more than a human's. She also has large, gold eyes with catlike slits and a shaved head. Her mask encases the front, back, and sides of her head, has three red clawmarks painted over each eye and ends in a rectangular shape with four toothlike protrusions from the bottom. Her chest is protected by dark grey plates with a neckpiece that meets the bottom of her mask. Her legs are protected halfway down by plates and her feet are wrapped in canvas for protection. Her left ear has a gold hoop running through it about two thirds of the way up and a nick at the end.

Additional Note: Kuk was born on her species' homeplanet of Kalee and grew up surrounded by Kaleesh warlords struggling to alleviate the stubborn remnants of poverty still clinging to Kalee from the Huk Wars. As was the custom of her people, she learned to hunt from an early age. After her father was killed in a skirmish with an opposing tribe, Kuk's nagging mother quickly succumbed to illness and died due to a lack of treatment. At her mother's side as she faded, the 17 year-old Kuk vowed that she would not succumb to poverty on her savage home as her mother had, and traveled offworld, hoping to use her skill as a hunter to gain wealth and power.

Name: Danic'axella

Age: 16

Species: Twi'lek

Affiliation: Personal Freedom - Force sensitive, and currently on the run from the slave market looking to be excepted by a group that would keep her out of the slave market.

Occupation: Force wielder and has some experience in theft and espionage. Currently on the run.

Height: 2.00m [About 6'6"]

Personality: Kind and friendly, slightly terrified.

Physical Description: Danic'axella has lavender skin with violet freckles and blue eyes. Her lekku are changed so she cannot communicate with them. Removing the chains could cause her permanent damage.

Additional Notes: Danic'axella is currently on the run not just from slavers, but also from the Empire. When she ran away from her master, she stole a Lambda Class Shuttle to get away in. The fact that they lost a shuttle to a 16 year-old is something they'd rather keep quiet. Danic'axella currently has very little Force training and would like to train under a master.

Name: Rachel Laestone

Age: 28

Affiliation: Rogue

Occupation: Bounty Hunter

Height: 1.83m [About 6'0"]

Personality: Wild, uncontrollable. She is not very trusting. If you cross her, you have an enemy for life. Once she does trust you she is just a little rough but generally friendly. During the time she doesn't trust you she is rough, leary, possibly unpredictable. Very smart.

Physical Description: She has long auburn hair. Her eyes are bright blue. She is slim and trim.

The Story So Far

Rebel leader Han Solo has been captured by a team of bounty hunters lead by Zraid, a dangerous woman looking to collect the massive bounty placed on the smuggler's head by infamous crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

The Galactic Empire, tipped off to the capture by a spy hidden deep within the Rebellion's ranks, tracked the smuggler's last known location to a frigid set of asteroids serving as a mining outpost in the outer rim: the same outpost where, unbeknownst to them, Zraid and her team came to relax after their victory.

In order to collect more information on the smuggler's whereabouts, General Veers has has taken Stormtrooper Captain Tamlin Ash and the rest of his squad down to the central asteroid's surface. At the suggestion of Captain Piett, the team has gone down in civilian garb so as to better blend in. At the General's suggestion, they are being accompanied by Mirkala, the Executor's resident inquisitor.

An underground cave system protects the outpost's residents from the ice and wind that plague the asteroid's surface. Upon their arrival to the complex, the squad split into five pairs. Two men were assigned to stay put and stake out the central hub; two more took the south-eastern tunnel, and another pair headed down the westernmost tunnel. The last two, troopers Rigby and Pax, took the northern tunnel and were accompanied, at their captain's recommendation, by Mirkala.

Captain Ash himself elected to stay with the general, and after a brief trip to the barter shop to purchase a respirator with which to keep his face from being recognized, Veers took his partner and headed into the nearest bar: the same bar in which Zraid and her team sat celebrating their greatest catch.

Before the Imperial pair could make it into the bar, however, the huntress received word from a member of her team that there were troops in the area, leaving the bounty hunter alert and on her guard.

Ironically, it was this state of sobriety that drew the general's attention, and Veers quickly singled her out at the bar and struck up a conversation. Though highly suspicious, for the sake of keeping her own cover, Zraid played along and continued the conversation.

As this was taking place, the north tunnel team stumbled upon the outpost's dormitories and a Bothan miner. As Trooper Rigby tried fruitlessly to engage the miner in conversation, the trio was joined by Olagzeli, another Imperial Inquisitor and Mirkala's assigned bodyguard, made late by a technical malfunction in her alarm clock. Unfortunately, in her haste to explain what happened, their newest member threw out the word "imperial" just a touch too loudly. This had two effects: one being to cause the Bothan miner to perk up and mutter something insulting in Bothese, and the other (much more importantly) to notify the Rebellion of their presence on the asteroid.

Unbeknownst to the imperial team, Alliance Intelligence Agent Nadra Kor stood in the same room with the same purpose: finding information on Solo. Kor swiftly notified her superiors of the imperial presence, and a Special Operations team was soon deployed to come to her aid.

Back in the bar, tensions rose slowly as Veers and the bounty hunter continued to converse, Captain Ash watching (and occasionally contributing) from the sidelines. Without the knowledge of either, Veers managed to slip a packet of IT-O grade truth powder into Zraid's Quanya, hoping to get her to talk. When at last she downed the drink, tensions began to mount at a much quicker pace, and Veers silently signaled the captain to radio in for backup, suspecting a violent reaction from the imposing woman.

Knowing she'd been drugged but refusing to give up her most fantastic catch, Zraid, with a cover-shattering cry of "Bite me Imperial Scum!" Smashed her now-empty glass across the general's face, loosing her waiting anooba, on the nearby captain and setting her team into action.

Hearing the captain's message, Pax called across the room to his partner, telling him it was time to go. Rigby (who had deduced from his outburst that the miner spoke only Bothese) was deep in conversation with the alien. At the behest of his partner, however, the trooper broke off the conversation with the entirely unhelpful Bothan and took off with Pax at full speed back up the tunnel to their captain's aid.

As the bar erupted into a full on brawl, (sending at least one patron fleeing and liberating several others to commit the acts of battery they'd been longing to all evening), the general took revenge for the shattered glass and slugged the increasingly-muddled bounty hunter in the jaw, unexpectedly eager for a good fight. Zraid was quick to retaliate with a haphazard swing of her knife, but the general, more alert now than ever, was quick to dodge. Taking advantage of the bounty hunter's deteriorating mental function, Veers lunged in an attempt to pin the bounty hunter to the bar.

Behind him, Kuk, one of Zraid's hired hands, was quite literally flying to her employer's rescue. Having launched herself into a headlong dive, the Kaleesh aimed to head-butt the imperial aggressor, and with her traditional bone mask she could do some real damage.

Tikal, another of the captain's men, made a leap of his own in a desperate attempt to intercept the Kaleesh before his general caught a case of broken ribs. Unfortunately, standard Imperial Training did not cover how to accurately launch anything much bigger than a blaster bolt at one's opponent, and the only thing Tikal managed to hit was the floor, which he did with a resounding thud and a quiet, humiliated groan.

This left Kuk to continue on course and crash squarely into the general's back, sending him too to the floor and leading him to abandon his target altogether in favor of aiming a swift kick at this new attacker's face.

Meanwhile, reinforcements had finally arrived for Agent Kor, with a SpecOps mission group stepping off the elevator just in time to see Tikal and Kuk launch themselves into the air. Communication between the team and the Intelligence Agent continued, low and frequent, for some time until Jacelyn Ash, the head of the mission group, managed to spot a Twi'lek woman, Danic'axella, fleeing the scene and asked her just what in blazes was going on in that bar.

Danic'axella, being a runaway slave on the lookout for any chance to get off of this Force-forsaken asteroid, gave the rebel as much information as she could, confirming that the imperials were, in fact, inside and very much involved.

Jacelyn immediately sent word back to Nadra, who left it up to her to decide whether or not to engage, with her only instruction being not to blow their cover if she did.

Back in the bar, Kuk took Veers' foot squarely to the face, and while the bone mask of her people distributed the energy some, the Kaleesh still ended up with a broken nose. Not one to be deterred, however, Kuk latched a hand onto the rising general's ankle and promptly yanked him back onto the floor. She wasted no time in trying to end this fight, and moved to pin him to the floor with one foot for just long enough to train a blaster rifle at the back of his head.

Captain Ash, heretofore occupied by Zraid's anooba, saw the general go down twice before he could make his way through the brawl to his commanding officer's aid. Seeing that she still had a knife, and confident that the general could handle himself, the captain made Zraid his target, dashing over and catching her by the wrists before she had the chance to plunge that knife into anyone's back.

Luckily for Veers, the captain's movement drew Kuk's attention just long enough for him to roll out of her blaster's sights and to take a swing at her calf with a piece of Zraid's shattered Quanya glass that he'd found on the floor.

At this point, things took a dramatic turn for the worse for the imperials. Pax, Rigby and Mirkala finally arrived back in the central hub and skittered to a halt before the mouth of the chaos-engulfed cantina. However, unbeknownst to anyone but Veers, Lord Vader, though his ever-faithful general, had hired an assassin to take his master's newest apprentice out of the picture using whatever methods necessary.

This bounty hunter, using his recent recruitment to the Rebellion as his cover, sat at the back of the bar, awaiting his target's arrival. When, with the rest of her team, she skidded onto the scene, Ryll Dusat wasted no time in doing his job. The assassin sent four blaster bolts straight for the Inquisitor's head, but those bolts never reached their target.

In a moment of wild panic as she sensed the rapidly-approaching danger, Mirkala reached out with the Force for the nearest object and pulled it into the space between her and the incoming plasma. Unfortunately, Pax was the nearest object, and before anyone realized what was happening, the trooper caught all four bolts in the chest.

Mirkala, proud of her quick reflexes, dropped the dead trooper to the floor, sending a nasty grin and a whispered declaration of her own prestige back to her almost-assasin, and Dusat, satisfied that the loss of this trooper would be enough to prove her a liability and get her "out of the way," made quick work of clearing out before he became her next victim.

Utterly appalled, Ash ordered Rigby to call in for a shuttle and get the Inquisitor back to the Executor. The trooper begrudgingly complied, and upon receiving their request, Captain Piett ordered a shuttle be sent out immediately.

As Rigby stepped away to call for that ship, the rebel team finally coalesced, with Kor able to make her way over to the SpecOps team at last. The rebel team went about discussing the situation until Danic'axella offered a plan. Recommending against heading into the fight within, the young Twi'lek offered herself as a prisoner to be used as leverage against the Empire.

Jacelyn was quick to refute this plan, strongly against handing anyone over to the Empire, but she was interrupted by a chilling cry from inside the cantina.

The bounty hunter's anooba had taken full advantage of Ash's distraction over the loss of his man, and before he had time to even acknowledge Zraid's garbled warning, the captain released her wrists and crumpled to the floor, feeling his leg-bone crack under the crushing force of Kugra's jaw. Ash had just enough presence of mind on his way down to aim his elbow for the anooba's waiting face.

Recognizing her brother's voice, Jacelyn quickly reversed her plans to head into the fray, knowing there would be no way to keep their cover if he caught sight of her.

In the meantime, things between Kuk and the general were no less intense. Veers managed to cut a deep gash in the Kaleesh's calf with his glass shard, but the injury only seemed to steel the huntress' resolve. Angry with herself for being so careless, Kuk put all of that rage into a well-aimed punch for the fallen general's stomach, which Veers had neither the time nor the ability to dodge.

From his position under a nearby table, Trooper Tikal, who had not moved since his sudden and shameful collision with the cantina's floor, watched the battle between the Kaleesh and his general intently. Seeing Veers in need of help, the young trooper hopped to his feet and went with the first plan to come to mind. Coming up behind the bounty hunter, Tikal ripped his blaster pistol from its holster and swung the grip, like a club, at the back of his opponent's head.

The faint shudder of the Executor coming out of hyperspace jolted General Veers out of the sole moment of quiet he’d had in what must have been two cycles at this point. Reluctantly, he set down his now-cold cup of caf on a nearby table and stood up, surveying his assigned quarters with a hint of disdain. It was so hard to keep things tidy in a room small enough to be a supply closet—for a General, no less—, even without the stacks of briefings and design plans he’d spent hours poring over.

No matter. With any luck, he’d soon be disembarking the Executor anyway. Veers gave himself a once-over in the mirror and straightened his grey-green uniform before brusquely exiting his room in search of the bridge. The hallways, as usual, were filled with activity; midshipmen and troopers alike called this Destroyer home. The General’s heavy footsteps and towering bulk, if not his rank itself, sent all hurrying to get out of his way. Veers smiled inwardly. Lord Vader had clearly done a good job of instilling respect in his officers.

Veers rounded a final corner and entered the bridge, waving a hand to the lieutenant in charge of bridge security. He approached the short, lithe man who must have been Captain Piett, who hadn’t yet seemed to notice the General. Maybe the Captain had received new orders regarding this—this Rebel leader, it would seem, who the Empire had been attempting to pursue. Thus far unsuccessfully.

“Captain Piett,” Veers said, veritably looming over the smaller officer. “Have there been any developments? I felt your ship exit hyperspace a moment ago.”

Captain Piett swept his eyes over the latest report on his data pad again, running a hand over his already tired eyes. Han Solo was missing. Rebel speculation was capture by bounty hunter. Piett thought they probably weren't far off. He and his bridge crew had been running at top gear all morning looking for any information they could find on who precisely had stolen the smuggler. Unfortunately the astronomical price on Solo's head meant that there was an equally large amount of information to sift through.

Piett allowed his thoughts to wander for a moment. He wondered if they truly wanted Solo back, or merely the information they were suspecting he carried. He'd already met Han Solo. Smarmy, fast-talking, self-serving - he wasn't your typical bleeding-heart rebel. Their last encounter had left a decidedly bad taste in his mouth, and yet their informant reported a rescue mission already in the works. Maybe reputation was of no concern to the man who helped Skywalker blow up the Death Star, he thought bitterly.

Not that it was of any consequence at the moment. The Rebellion's reasoning was not his concern. Vader had ordered the smuggler's immediate capture, and it was his job to make it happen.

"Captain Piett,"

The captain rose and turned around at the call only to come face to face with someone's rank badge. A quick look up revealed why.

"Have there been any developments? I felt your ship exit hyperspace a moment ago."

"I'm afraid there's nothing conclusive yet, sir. We've just dropped into the smuggler's last known location. We're taking a scan of the area now."

Veers had hardly expected stellar news, but the lack of progress was clearly starting to wear on his patience. He sighed, crossing his arms over his chest, and looked back out the bridge's expansive windows. He could make out nothing save for a single star--orange dwarf, if size was anything to go on--and several asteroids large enough to inhabit. Large enough and remote enough to certainly be inhabited, Veers reasoned. What an investigation this would make--dealing with more sentients too far from the Core worlds to be up to any good ranked exceptionally low on the list of the General's favorite activities. Right below space travel, to be precise.

"Debris alone will likely scramble our bioscanners, Captain, if whatever unsavory creatures call this place home haven't already managed to do so," he remarked, turning away from the window and peering over Piett at the datapad's screen. "Sending in ground forces under the guise of Imperial martial law could act as a cover, though such an act would hardly go unnoticed."

He paused, considering. "Though if you have a less flashy solution to our questioning of potential suspects, I am more than open to suggestions." Veers pinched the bridge of his nose. "Lord Vader will hardly be pleased if we simply scare the smuggler off."

Mirkala's footsteps could be heard against the hard floor, as she approached them. "Veers." Her voice, whispered, sounding like a small child. Her words dripped with venom each time she spoke.

"I heard you two talking... A smuggler eh? I knew someone wasn't telling me something while I trained." She seemed a slight bit, unnerved that she hadn't been told.

"I'm not happy about that." She hissed, as she walked up to them, a midget, compared to the both of them, especially Veers. She pulled her hood up, hiding herself.

It took the General a moment to find the source of the voice. Once he did, it took a fair amount of willpower to maintain a neutral, if slightly disgruntled, expression--the newcomer had caught him by surprise. A child? On the Executor no less, Vader's flagship. The Imperial Fleet's pride and joy, it might as well be.

Turning back to Piett, Veers ground out, "Were you aware of this guest, Captain? This ship is certainly no place for a child." Not waiting for an answer, he focused his attention on the strange hooded girl. How could she have bypassed bridge security? The man ID'ing bridge-bound officers looked just as frazzled as Veers felt.

"How did you get up here, girl?" he asked. "And what is your name?"

The last thing he needed was another distraction or complication in this already arduous mission. Though... the child had mentioned being sent by another. And trained? Veers clasped his hands behind his back impatiently, glancing to Piett a second time.

"Ahem, if you are wondering who I am, I am Mirkala, a Sith Apprentice being trained by your Emperor, than you very much." She spat, he words cold, and filled with poison. She was not a very, happy person, rather pessimistic, and clearly, easily rude. She shot a cold glare at Veers, despite him being quite taller than her.

"Now, care to call me a child once more, and you won't see any light ever again, dang it." She had a belt, with two reverse grip lightsabers that could easily be turned into one double bladed lightsaber, and clearly shouldn't be messed with, especially since messing with her could cause trouble with Palpatine, which, probably wasn't wanted.

At the mention of the "unsavory creatures" likely inhabiting the surrounding asteroids the Captain glanced out the window himself, a small sneer tugging at the corner of his mouth. He was quite well acquainted with the sort of undesirable company that was down on those rocks. Interaction was even lower on his list of desires than the General's, but he kept that to himself, for the moment. As he listened to the general's concerns, he gave a glance to his lieutenant commander in the crew pit who looked up just in time to give the affirmative nod. Their scanners were all but useless in this mess.

'Blast.'

Veers, unfortunately, continued to be right, and he knew it. "No, sir. I imagine not…." He let the options drift through his mind for a moment. He did have one idea.

He opened his mouth to share it just in time for Mirkala to drop in. The Captain turned to her and listened to the short rant, internally both frustrated and somewhat on-edge. Wasn't Lord Vader enough? Now they had two Force-adepts on the ship. The fact that this one was little more than a child did nothing but make matters all the more confounding.

Veers next few words showed he was equally irked. Again he opened his mouth to respond, but the general didn't give him time, and things continued to get out of hand as the girl replied. Sweet stars, this was too much.

Clearing his throat quietly by way of excuse, Piett turned to the general, taking a step forward to put himself ever so slightly between the two. "Mirkala is our resident inquisitor, sir, and yes, was made aware of her presence on my ship. We've been assured that the young woman's age has little bearing on her skills… and, if I may quickly, sir, we could send the troops down in plain clothes… It's a slower process, perhaps, but you may find a bit of discretion to be more… fruitful, shall we say?"
