At times the station has lain idle and abandoned for years, only to be reactivated by a new group of outlaws seeking a fresh start. The space station's original elegant design has given way to haphazard expansion by scrabbling factions of every species. Population: 7.8 million
Orbital Distance: 3.27 AU
Orbital Period: 4.6 Earth Years
Total Length: 44.7 Km
Local: Sol, Asteroid Belt

In the Year of 2307, Humans have just tapped into space exploration. Aliens had already settled amongst Sol as humans explore the Galaxy. So far tensions are high between humans and other races. Earth has become a dying planet, overpopulation, as well as a corrupt government, have turned the cities into crime-filled slums. This among the sudden burst of technical expansion made other races as well as the Galactic Council question humanity.

First contact with alien life was the year 2032 Johannesburg. A UFO the size of the city parked and hovered over the city for over 20 years. Humanity now had to be caretakers of the alien species they nicknamed Prawns, this knowledge of alien life outside Sol set in motion research to find more evidence of life.

Testing warm waters in 2050 was the year Humans really started to get excited, test the limits. Alien life not only had been discovered but planted themselves on earth. This was the age of knowledge, research starts, and preparation for when the time came to contact other races.

The Golden age was around 2120, this was the peak of curiosity of humanity as well as a glory full time. Engineering marvels such as the White City, a monument to humanity, and its evolution. As is stood to govern the planet and all alien exploration. Under, cities are built with sky-high towers that stretch continents over, reaching for the ever closer sky. These cities were built with the height of technology, billboards stretching stories tall, and neon lights gave the cities the nicknames Neo Tokyo. Hover vehicles rule the air as crowds flooded the streets to experience trade and cuisine.

Downfall in 2140. The difference between the white city and the Neo Tokyo was starting to shine through. In a quick time, the cities became flooded as humans overran the earth, and overpopulation became a serious threat.

Corruption and Crime became the norm in 2200. The rampant growth of humans, as well as alien life, became too much to bear. Crime, prostitution, drugs, and overcrowding. While The White City with its government and military had become corrupt and obsessed, taking power over the planet as well as explore the Galaxy, declaring their place in it.

A New Hope shun in 2230, as a scientist by the call name Dr.V built what he called The Gate. This lead to an opening of a floodgate for human interstellar colonization. Now humans had the opportunity to explore the galaxy. Galactic alliances, as well as the Galactic Council, started paying attention and grew warier of humanity both as explorers and as a threat.

@Crytus The labyrinthine steel streets of the Omega space station were crowded with a multi species throng of people all bustling about below a buzzing neon canopy. People of every race and species bumped elbows and shoulders here. Miners, pirates, bounty hunters, thieves, traders, space truckers, prostitutes, droids, synths, aliens and androids all walked these streets though few called Omega station home. A human wearing a brown and black armored space suit of a variety favored by asteroid miners and deep space exploration teams ducked out of a busy street and down a narrow back alley. When he was out of sight of the people on the street Red stopped and after a quick glance around crouched down behind an abandoned air car with his back to the alley wall. Reaching awkwardly over his shoulder he pulled off his backpack. The simple green canvas pack had UNSC patches on some of it's many pockets and nothing in it that couldn't survive exposure to hard vacuum. With a hiss of oxygen Red took his helmet off revealing a face lined with the symmetrical scars of surgery and lit by the glow of his eyes. In the darkness of the alley the yellow gold glowing light of his irises was very bright, like the eyes of a droid. The light of his eyes shone down as he reached into his open backpack to pull out some food. With little enthusiasm he opened the packaging on his ration bar and started eating. While Red ate he 'opened his ears' to the local radio chatter around him. Activating his cerebral cybernetic suite he was able to detect all the electronic communications going on nearby. Omega was a loud and busy place, computers uploading and downloading everywhere, mobile communications devices in every pocket, cameras on nearly every corner, radios clipped to belts, droids and robots at every glance, all these things were his spies. From them all Red attained a steady stream of data noise that made a vivid picture downloaded straight to his brain. He listened closely, hearing phone calls, security reports, air traffic control, seeing everything. It wasn't long before he heard a change in the signals approaching. Like a wave rolling by, a broadband alert sounded, lighting every screen he could see. He snarled at the immense loudness of it, reading it's message in one one thousandth of a second: 'WANTED! HUMAN/MALE/CYBORG! 5 MILLION UNIT REWARD! WANTED ALIVE! DETAILS TO FOLLOW...' He didn't wait for the details. Cursing whoever had the balls to put out a public bounty on him he shutdown his listening equipment and shut out the noise. "Time to go." He packed up quickly and after putting his helmet back on to once more hide his face, he slung his backpack over his shoulder and made his way out of the alley. Once he'd reached the street he shouldered his way back out into crowded throngs of people. He was heading toward the docks, if he couldn't hire his way onto a ship at short notice he'd have to steal one. What a wonderful day this was shaping up to be. Less than half an hour later he'd reached one of the less busy neighborhoods on the station. Near the space docks but away from the main thoroughfare the halls and streets here were more ramshackle. Idle construction sites, tiny shops and seedy pubs were about all this section of the station had to offer. As he walked down one of the garbage strewn paths he spotted a pair of station security guards patrolling down at the more active end of the block. Their hovering squad car was nearby, shining a spotlight into a shop. Feeling no need to make a scene, he casually turned into the nearest shop, which appeared to be selling snakes. Without stopping to peruse the wares he passed through the tiny place and out it's back door, stepping into another narrow alley. This alley was quieter and kept him out of sight of the security patrol. Making up for dwindling time now that he was mainly out of view he jogged quickly to where the alley opened onto another street. He peered out of the alley at a surprisingly crowded road. Taking a moment he pulled back into the temporary safety of the darkened alley. For a few seconds he stared at nothing, checking his internal map which displayed itself in bright clear lines drawn across his field of vision. After making sure he was still going the right way he refocused on reality and left the alley. He crossed the street past an idling construction mech, taking a quick scan of the SPID-R class excavator as he went. As he disappeared into the opposite alley he didn't see a figure dislodge itself from the crowd and start to follow. The Turian mercenary's specialized bounty scanning equipment had pinged and highlighted the human in the space suit as he crossed the street. A data readout display showed all the relevant info in a quick scroll of alien text across the merc's visor. Quickly moving to follow his new target the merc radioed his team to plan a convergence. Just a handful of minutes later as Red rounded a corner he was suddenly tackled against a wall by a heavily armored Turian. The stations rusty steel plate wall bucked with the impact, showering them both with sparks. The Turian swing a shock baton at his human target in an attempt to stun him. Ducking under the blow from the mercenary's shock stick, Red threw a punch with his right hand. His fist hit the Turian in center of the chest like and industrial pile driver. The merc's heavy combat armor cracked in half from the force of the blow and fell away in shattered pieces. The Turian staggered away from him clutching his chest and falling to the ground. Taking his chance Red turned to run but saw the Turian merc's friends coming. Two Krogan merc's were approaching nonchalantly from one end of alley, and a Batarian and a Zabrak were coming from the other. They all had their guns trained on him. Instead of raising his hands in surrender, Red dropped to the ground, falling unconscious to the deck. With a laugh one of the Krogan hauled the fallen Turian to his feet chiding his team mate about getting his expensive armor crunched up by a sissy that faints in the presence of real fighters. The Batarian smirked at the fallen human "Humans are weak." The Zabrak who had perhaps a bit more sense than his teammates spoke up "Check that it's alive, we're wasting our time here if you just scared it to death." The Batarian walked over to the prone man and reached down to take it's helmet off. Suddenly with a crash and the thunder of an air horn the SPID-R mech appeared from street behind them. The heavy construction mech bludgeoned its way into the narrow alley toward the group of surprised mercenaries. Sparks flew as steel scraped steel, squealing mettle and buckling bulkheads sounded the machines advance. Shrapnel flew from the station walls as the excavators arm swung around and reached toward them, tearing low hanging cables free in a shower of lighting as it came. The mercs fled the advancing machine, forgetting their bounty entirely. The machine gingerly stepped over the unconscious human before taking up the chase again. The rampaging construction mech followed the mercs, blasting it's air horn again and again. The routed mercs ran out of the alley and into the street. The mech crashed out of the alley only seconds behind them, raining bent steel plates and shattered neon into the concourse. The people in the crowded street panicked and scattered ahead of the danger. The SPID-R mech charged after the sprinting band of mercs like a rhino, knocking a droid controlled garbage truck over with one errant swing of it's shovel. Over the chaos the alarms sounded, signalling that station security was coming. In no time flat a hover squad car was on the scene, following above the out of control mech, the squad car's pilot shouting at machines absent driver to stop. All the mercs could do was run and shoot at machine over their shoulders. Their shots had no effect on the heavy mech and they nearly hit the squad car several times. Finally they found an escape rout, diving down a narrow ramp toward rapid transit station they managed to evade being crushed or run over by the huge excavator. Without hesitation the mech tried to follow the mercs down the ramp. There it failed, slipping and falling, crashing down onto entrance of the ramp. Fully blocking the rampway with its bulk the mech struggled to get up for a moment before it then shuts down. Powering down it fell limp. Crowds gathered as security converged on the location from blocks around on foot and in squad cars. With guns at the ready, they opened the mechs driver cab door shouting "Freeze!" Only to find the control cab empty. Several blocks away from the commotion back in the alley, Red got up, shoving debris off of himself while shaking his head a little. That aught to be a good distraction for security for the time being. Unfortunately everyone in a 10 block radius will have heard the noise. Better scram. Going back the way he came to detour around the mess he'd made Red was back in the crowd and already mapping an alternate rout to the docks.

@Tyre “Change of plan, Dualis check that disturbance, might be of interest. I will move away from the main street. Jin stays there until one of us calls for you. I have some visuals but they are unclear.” All that was returned by the new order was a grunt from the Eliksni and a buzz from the Droid. “Take, yes? Return soon.” The large alien, held up two chips, each valued around 3 credits, enough to buy the bar around. Credits the galactic currency, worked anywhere, and without having to exchange. So inflated and so high in value that only one could buy food for a week. Without question the two women took their gifted pay and walked into the bar from once they came. “See yah later darling” came as the last sight of them, disappearing into the pub like club. Caring for the two’s wellbeing The Fallen bounty hunter waited until the two were safely inside before starting the long walk down the street. The chaos that had been created further down didn't reach up to where she stood, but this was the main street there was always something. A vehicle crash, mercs doing their work, drunken brawls. The further down she came, closer to the rampant work machine the more she had to force her way forward. Despite her weight, strength and size didn't help to worm her way through the massive crowd. In the end, the panicked crowd became too much to fight against as she was swept backward and out to the side street. Stopping just by a closed fast food joint, the red sign above the shop written in white ‘The White Dragon’. Forcing her way around the corner to the door that leads into the kitchen behind. Pulling out a lock cracker, she carefully placed it around the magnetic lock, and just under a minute she had snuck herself into the joint. Cramming her form into the tiny store was no easy task, though she didn't plan on staying long. Restaurants were the perfect place to sneak in an easy entry to the back allies. Finding the second door that lead into the storage and ultimately out the back alley, and away from the massive crowd. Out, rolling her shoulders. Finally elbow room. “Mercenaries were seen by our cameras, close to your position. A little warning the next alley over is the cause of the disturbance. “Change of plan, Dualis check that disturbance, might be of interest.

Just head down and you will meet them.”
Just like the first message the sniper was meet with nothing but a grunt. Before she followed the advice of her teammate she took a second to stretch out and look around. The dimly lit delivery area full of garbage bags and unopened packages both on a shelf and under the table goods.

With station security largely distracted by the SPID-R mech mess it took no time at all for Red to reach the stations docking ring. The docking ring was a tall wide hall that ran in an uninterrupted ring all the way around the lower circumference of the station. Here ships docked to load and unload cargo and people as well as refit and refuel.

Stepping through a fare gate into the docking ring Red merged with the thinner but still substantial crowds blending in seamlessly among the many space suited humans and aliens.

Red walked along the docking ring to anti spinward, assessing ships, crews, departure times, routs, and destinations as he went.

He didn't get far before he stopped in his tracks, his blood running cold. Ahead out of a newly docked Naval shuttle craft emerged a pair of men dressed in dark UNSC uniforms. Their uniforms sported patches declaring them as from the Office of Naval Intelligence. ONI spooks. Probably section 3, and definitely looking for him.

"Damn they're fast..." he muttered breathlessly. Casually as to draw no attention from the ONI agents who had not yet spotted him Red turned back the way he'd come. Heading the other way along the ring he had to fight the urge to run. His heart raced dangerously as he tried to stay calm. Deep breaths...

Nervously he activated his listening gear while walking, once more connecting to the electronic signals all around him. Frantically checking cameras and listening to radio channels as the data stream overlaid what his eyes could see. He kept his full attention on the ONI agents behind him around the curve of the ring, now only visible on camera...

Distracted, he walked right into a droid, not a little one either. Startled, Red snapped back to reality and froze for a second when he recognize the droid's model and faded markings. A white city police droid! It was old though. Would the white city send a police droid here to look for him? Or has this one been re purposed? He'd be careful either way.

Red relaxed a bit in spite of the situation. He had fond memories of these droids, had in fact been guarded by a lot of these particular models. He missed them a bit. He had to look way up to see the droid's 'face' as it spoke.

"Excuse us sir but this area is unsafe. Please keep calm. We apologize for the inconvenience" Then it smiled, sort of.

Red smiled a little in spite of himself, though his own smile went unseen inside his helmet. (Jin smiles on the outside, Red smiles on the inside)

He liked the LED screens on these models. The screens give the droids better emotive powers than their predecessors. Making them more friendly, in appearance anyway. Having always had liked droids and A.I's better than people, Red had to remind himself not to trust the thing. It was still hard to know if it was safe or legit...

Quickly he looked around, assessing the area to verify what the droid had said. No one else was being stopped by other droids like him. Instantly rewinding and replaying what he had recorded over the past few minutes he was able to confirm that no one else had been stopped or intercepted by this particular droid at all, only him. He calculated a 84.2% chance that he'd been spotted or tracked and that the droid was hostile. He decided to play along while he actually gathered data. Leaning on logic: be cooperative, test it's responses, present it a problem, assess it's motivation...

Speaking clearly being careful to subdue his accent Red responded to the droid "Ah, thank you for the safety warning but I think you may be mistaken. There are no alarms sounding in this section and all appears well. Perhaps you should report to your overseer for a diagnostic checkup..."

Then Red moved to step calmly around the droid as if their business is concluded. His every muscle and cable tense, he thought 'now we shall see what it/he does...'

@Tyre The comlink between the droid and his teammates were open, yet none of the three talked, only listened to the improvisation of the droid. Without her notice, he had called for Vokkats to hurry up. Within a long 15 minute timespan finally, Vokkats showed up. He had made sure that no one followed. After making sure his teammate was safe and alive he went up and sat down to take up the position as the copilot. With the engines already warmed up, it took seconds to get the ship started and out of port. While Jin was busy flying Slaver Alpha out of port and out of the somewhat busy Omega Station, Vokkats was busy filing a notice to whoever put out the bounty. Letting them know they were on their way to Earth, the White City.

Normally a droid was no issue for him at all, but given how close the ONI agents were he did not want to make a scene by decking the droid or using the forge on it. They'd be watching for that. Currently his options were very limited. Run. Before he could take more than two steps his space suit's computer's synthetic female voice buzzed an automated alarm in his ear "Warning, armor impact detected. No damage or puncture detected." The suit's protection system thought it had detected a micro meteor impact and informed him accordingly. He'd been shot. A second impact. The computer again "Warning electronic pulse detec..." He didn't hear the rest. He screamed in pain as his vision flashed white and he convulsed suddenly as if in the grip of a seizure before everything went dark and he lost consciousness. ------- When Slaver Alpha undocked and left Omega station the little ravager ship saw a rare and unnerving sight. Floating ominously next to the space station was a large dark grey ship, sleek and powerful like a shark and measuring almost half a kilometer long. The ship was of human construction but it's profile and advanced hull plating made it difficult for Slaver Alpha's scanners to even detect despite how close it was. At long range the ship would be almost invisible to conventional scanners. It bore no name, only a white symbol painted upon it's bow. An ONI frigate. These slip capable military ships were almost never seen by anyone, let alone by the public. Ship traffic still moved freely to and from Omega station for the moment but everyone was staying well away from the UNSC spy ship. Outbound ship traffic was also increasing. Word was getting around on Omega. Even as Slaver Alpha and the rest of traffic passed by the stealth ship unimpeded, another UNSC vessel blinked in from out of slip space. This one was no ONI ship. A full kilometer in length, the huge assault ship dwarfed the ONI frigate as it maneuvered in closer to the station. The two ships signaled each other over a secure communications band, apparently having an argument. After a few moments the assault ship issued a broadband communication: "ATTENTION OMEGA STATION. THIS IS CAPTAIN MARCUS CROSS OF THE ORION-CLASS ASSAULT CARRIER SWORD OF WINTER! WE ARE HERE UNDER THE JOINT AUTHORITY OF UNSC HIGH COMMAND AND THE EARTH ALLIANCE DEPARTMENT OF COLONIAL AFFAIRS! WE ARE TAKING COMMAND OF THIS STATION IMMEDIATELY! PREPARE TO BE BOARDED AND SEARCHED." -------------------- The two ONI agents briefly stopped what they were doing when they heard the Captain Cross's broadband announcement sound throughout Omega station. They glanced at each other after the message concluded, one of them shook his head "Bloody jar heads" The other sighed wearily and replied "We'll have to be quick." Then they turn back to what they are doing. Strapped to a table between them was the Turan mercenary, whom they had been slowly flaying alive. He was having a bad day. One of the ONI agents leaned down over the Turan's bloody face, clutching one of the merc's few remaining bony crests with a rusty pair of heavy pliers. Starting to pull at the crest the agent said "Now, tell us again. What happened to the man in the space suit?"

When Slaver Alpha undocked and left Omega station the little ravager ship saw a rare and unnerving sight.

ONI_Censored.jpg

After a few moments the assault ship issued a broadband communication:

"ATTENTION OMEGA STATION. PREPARE TO BE BOARDED AND SEARCHED."

The two ONI agents briefly stopped what they were doing when they heard the Captain Cross's broadband announcement sound throughout Omega station.

@Tyre Spotting the massive ships Vokkats became uneasy, knowing that their ship was in the clear he still didn't want to take any chances. “Jin turn off all outgoing comlinks. The second much larger ship had slipped right into Jin’s path. If they had left only a few minutes early the little ship would instantly be crushed by the much larger. The tiny ship, not much larger than a sailboat from earth back in the 21 century. The cockpit was had four seats and enough room to move around, behind storage crammed together in a pile. Food, weapons, ammunition, and tech. Between the two a small tactics table with holographic maps and information. Currently displaying Omega Station and the little information they had about their captive. In the middle of the space, a small narrow stairway leads down to the social area. A tiny cooler and preservative for food, as well as storage to keep most if not all of their food, whatever that was. Placed in the middle two small couches and a small narrow table. The bow of the ship leaning out from the wall a small bed and a grand view of the stars. A window that T’d down from the cockpit and front of the ship. Back in the stern were more crates, storage, and two secure rooms one now occupied by the armored man. The back wall was given to Vokkats, for all his weapons to hang. About 5 snipers took the main mantle, together with a rocket launcher and what looked to be a heavy plasma cannon. Decorated around were much smaller and less treasured weapons. Dualis had her stuff on the opposite side of the bed, there hung most of her weapons together with a few collectibles, a tracker, and an update sheet for her servitor (now gathering Either on Europa). One last Either triangle laid on the self inside a containment chamber. The last and most treasured item was a photo of her husband back home. @Crytus

After a couple hours Red woke up. He groaned. It felt like he had the worst hangover a person could have before dying. At least the room he was in was dark. Slurring he muttered "God my head..." and moving a little, sat himself up with his back to a wall. He stayed there a little while until the pain in his head faded a bit and he could think.

Inside his helmet the display screen and sensors were flickering wildly, though he could still read them. The air was safe. The helmets display projector was malfunctioning, making it hard to see through the visor. He'd have to fix it later, it'd take a while to find problem. In the confines of the dark room Red took his helmet off, his eyes glowed brightly in the dark. His lower face and the side of his neck were streaked with dry blood that had run from his nose and right ear because of the EMP charge.

He knew he was on a ship. He could feel it, hear it. Leaning his head back against the cool mettle wall for a moment he listened. It was a small ship, 2 maybe 3 decks at most. Currently traveling at warp, small engines for speed and maneuverability. Not a cargo hauler. Bigger than an X-wing but smaller than a Firefly. Well at least it wasn't an ONI ship. Hopefully it was not working for a big corporation either, mercs maybe? Hopefully?

He looked around examining the small secure room. There wasn't much to see. The 8x9 room had no furnishings, no window, no bed, though marks on the floor suggested there had been a bunk in here at one point.

Aside from his helmet malfunctioning, his suite was still in space worthy working order. He checked and was pleased to find he still had his backpack. By the light of his eyes he opened the bag and checked the contents:

Clothes, Food bars, Water bottle, Bathroom kit, Medical scanner, *****, Other ***** (one of which he took now), Towel, Knife, Multi tool, Jar full of robot bees, A dark silvery mettle cube with a lens set into the center of one side, Lighter, Small drawstring bag with 25 galactic credits, Some pens, House keys, Laminated picture of Grace, and about 80 different keycards and i.d badges.

Satisfied that all his things were still with him he closed up the bag and turned on his listening equipment, looking for a data stream. He found no cameras. Fuc*. He could deck the ships computer but the droid pilot would notice. He could try to deck the droid but given what he'd seen earlier of it's behavior he'd rather not. Besides the crew would probably bust in and shoot him if he did take control of the helm, so not a good plan. He could cut his way through the hull to outside once they exited warp, it'd dangerous though, only as a last resort.

Getting up he went to the door and after finding it locked, pressed his ear to the mettle. Outside his 'cell' was quiet, just ship engine sounds. 'Okay, lets see whats out there.' He stuffed his helmet in his bag and slung the pack over his shoulder, freeing his hands. Using the nano forge safely in a space suit was easy enough with practice but it was still good to be careful. He did a systems check before activating the device. When everything came back green lights he activated the forge.

Tendrils of glowing blue light appeared in the air around Red's right hand. Glittering like powdered mica the streams of light quickly grew and merged together until they formed a one foot cube around his hand. Unlike a holographic display the light cube did not appear entirely solid and stable but instead seemed to sparkle and swirl as if it were a suspension of liquid or mist. Red put his right hand surrounded by the nano mist against the door.

With a quiet staticy hum the forge disintegrated a one foot cube of door centered on the lock. The edges of the square hole glowed bright orange for a few seconds after he'd finished. Red shut down the forge and the blue mist retreated back into his hand before disappearing completely.

Red crouched down and looked through the open hole for a moment before standing again. He'd seen a sort of kitchen/living room area, though he couldn't see much of it. Slowly he pushed the door open, it moved quietly but not silently on its hinges.

He stepped out into the hallway hoping to whatever god's there were that the ship didn't have automatic security turrets. It didn't. It did have an Eliksni warrior though.

@Tyre

The Eliksni had woken up only an hour before the captive did. In that time, she had gotten up walked over, and gotten herself some sort of strong alcoholic drink and sat back down again. It was too dull senses and ease the exhaustion she felt. Beside her on the table laid her valued helmet, scarred and worn it had seen battles, death, hardship, and victory. The two crests peaked up as a symbol of honor, telling any Eliksni she was a Captain or higher. Free from the restraints of the helmet she could yawn and drink in peace.

Upstairs Vokkats and Jin had also taken down their guard and relaxed for the trip. Jin just sat in the pilot's seat letting the autopilot take over, fixing his collection of small figures that were neatly set up on the window self. Vokkats still stood planning, pressed against his lips laid a half-smoked cigarette. On the table only an arm's reach sat his helmet, though he preferred to keep it on to cover his face, race, and identity, being free from it while he thought and smoked was much more relaxing.

As the captive made his escape Dualis sat and watched in a haze, fascinated by the forge she waited for him to spot her. By the time he had stepped out she had activated the Alpha Chip. Its radius just engulfing the ship. “If you are planning to take over the ship, I would advise against it. We are two organics and one droid. I doubt you can take out us two, and taking over the ship or our droid, don't even think about it. I know what you're thinking, we are the bad guys, taking you as a prisoner and getting credits for it. It's only business.” looking over at him, she caught his glowing eyes and gave a weak smile towards them. Her own weren't as powerful but had a low blue glowing tint. Finding them fascinating, especially knowing they were far from natural human biology. Letting out a yawn, unintentionally showing off her spike-like teeth, her lower jaw separated making her seem even more alien. Laying down her head onto the table keeping her eyes on him. “Need anything like food or a drink just take it.” Knowing that the human had very few options of resistance she was fairly confident he wouldn't try anything. Though just in case her lower arms held onto a simple knife and a gun.

@Crytus He was glad not to have been shot the second he stepped out of the cell but that was about as far as his escape went. Lying on one of two couches in the living room area was a rather large Eliksni warrior. The fallen was watching him without concern. Red made a exasperated giving up gesture and said "Well there goes that quiet escape plan." He saw no further point in resisting until landfall or another opportunity came up. He'd would rather escape than fight anyway. He just hadn't expected to be caught so soon. Looking at the alien he could guess it was a female by the narrower skull shape. They were a neat race, though up until now he'd never seen without helmet on. Had in fact only met the violent raider/pirate types and never this close up. In the past he'd blown up more than a few of their vessels when they'd attacked him, but that was when he was in one of his own ships. She spoke from the couch though he had an odd time listening to her. Her translation chip together with his software was making him hear double speak, both common and Eliksni. He felt no need to tell her that though and he could still understand her perfectly either way. So they were mercs then. He'd met their droid already, had had one just like it a few years ago. Well it could be a whole hell of a lot worse, for him at least. These mercs were in way over their heads and they definitely didn't know it. If they had any inkling of the sh*t storm they were walking into they would have dumped him out the airlock and headed for the nearest portal out of human space. He walked away from the cell slowly and joined her in the 'living room' asking in common as he did "Just business huh? Alright then, mind if I ask who your employer is?" Red sat down on the couch opposite of the huge alien. Looking around at her offer of food and drink he saw no coffee maker, which was all he really wanted. So he made himself a cup of hot coffee, cup and all, using the forge. The Eliksni had already seen him use the forge on the door so the secret was out. Though the likely hood that she understood what it was was quite small, most people usually just mistook it for a 3d printer anyway. No big deal.
