He learned quickly, and effectively exactly he was suppose to do as a proper warrior for Tundraclan. It was not such an easy thing to do when danger lurked in every corner and you had to survive in such a lacking area of the globe. But he managed, and he'd make sure his apprentice did the very same. His job was to make sure this cat learned how to survive. His eyes danced from one cat to the next, wondering who exactly he'd want more than the other. He didn't exactly want the freak brothers, forgetful, and frosty. Weirdo didn't seem that bad, was always seemed to be in his own weird little world. Bully seemed fine, just a jerk to one of the weirdo brothers. Jump was the only she cat, scared by a shadow... so he didn't really like her either. The clan was successful with their kittens, but they were all so... weird. Now the tom waited quietly next to another warrior, waiting for their leader, and medicine cats to give the announcement.

The leader slowly stretched his body out of his den, blinking slowly as they adjusted to the darkness that engulfed his underground camp. Shadowkit

Shadowkit yawned, it was early morning and already there was too much commotion outside, too much for his liking, he would curl up and go back to sleep wasn't it for the two brothers running past him like their tails got on fire. Now he was intrigued, he lifted his head up to see cats gathering outside was the apprentice ceremony today? By the looks of it, yeah. He looked around to see Artickit and Stoatkit still inside. He was about to stand up when a big black and brown tabby entered the nursery, his father Rushwater stood in front of him and smiled „So ready for the big day?“he asked. „Hmm as ready as you need to be, what choice do i have“ he said nonchalant walking past his father to the nursery entrance. „May the day greet us with nice sunshine instead of an avalanche, unless that's their way of saying hi.“

Snowwing and Carpstream

Today was an exiting day, Snowwing stood in front of the warriors den cleaning himself up for the ceremony that was about to happen. The kits would turn apprentices today, looking at the two brothers already running up to the leader reminded him of the day where he became apprentice for the first time. He had no idea what was going and it made him laugh how clueless he was, the again he was rescued only a few day earlier and he was still adapting in living in clan where other took care of you and didn't scold you for every mistake. He was starting to daydream about these old times when all of a sudden „SNOWWING!“ the white tom jumped up at the voice and his fur stood tall, he looked over his shoulder to she the white, gray she-cat smiling at him. „Carpstream, you gave me a fright“. “Sorry, but you were currently in the clouds and i couldn't waste this opportunity. So now tell me what were you thinking“, Snowwing sighed he should have known better it was her, the she cat had a knack it coming out of nowhere and her voice was so loud that she could trigger an avalanche if she was outside and not to forget how curios she was. „Oh nothing interesting only about the old days“. „Well in that case excuse me i don't want to miss the ceremony, till later „she said jumping in front of him and giving a sign wit his tail before joining the other cats.

Snowwing giggled her enthusiasm was something.

Fogdrift had woken up earlier, and was counting the number of each herb they had. Of course, it was Sun now, so this was one of the few times they could comfortably restock, but they needed to make sure there were no holes in their storage. Sickness, injury, death, those were everywhere. She needed to be constantly alert for them.

She was jolted out of her mildly dark thoughts by Northstar's yowl, having almost forgotten the apprentice ceremony was today- though remembering it brought on a surge of unpleasant memories. After being called, she nodded mutely, bounding up to the ledge after Herbtruffle. A shiver ran through her as her paws made contact with the cold stone.
Fogdrift. The name still sounded so wrong. It had been only a few moons ago that her old mentor had died, and one moon ago that she had received her full name. She was convinced it had nothing to do with her skill, and it was just because of the two kits in the nursery hoping to become medicine cats. There were still so many things she didn't know. But Coldbreeze had had to die and leave her with this role...

The white-gray she cat noticed she was shaking slightly, and immediately stiffened, looking dully onto the crowd of cats with her usual blank expression. It wouldn't do to show weakness in front of all these warriors.

Mossfreeze had been on Dawn Patrol, arriving back in camp lacking in his usual verve and with a clump of leaves stuck in his long black fur. However, upon seeing the state of the camp, he put two and two together and nearly sprinted to join the other cats gathered under the Highledge, almost knocking Wishblossom over as he skidded to a halt. After a still-excited "Sorry!" to the white she-cat, he started grooming the deritus out of his pelt, looking up at the apprentices every so often. Northstar had told him he might be taking on an apprentice soon, and though it might have been foolish to be overly optimistic about this, he had taken it as fact and was thrilled at the possiblity. What could be a better service to your clan then mentoring a strong warrior?

After the sticks and knots had been removed from his fluffy fur, he went to consider the group of apprentices. There were the two brothers, Orchidkit and Indigokit. Mossfreeze had seen Orchidkit shadowing Herbtruffle or... Fogdrip? Anyways, shadowing the medicine cats enough times to guess that he would be one of the two new medicine apprentices. But Indigokit would probably be in warrior training. He'd be a challenge, given his forgetfulness, though he couldn't deny he liked the kit's optimism.

Then there was Shadowkit, who mostly kept to himself, based on what he'd heard. Rushwater had complained about "not being able to get through to him" before, and talked about his morbid outlook. Honestly, that'd be harder to train than Indigokit.

He didn't know much about Stoatkit, but Artickit, from what he'd heard, was kinda cowardly but sweet. She might end up going Medicine Cat because of that, but if he did end up training her, Mossfreeze was sure he could build up her courage.

Finchfeather padded lazily out of his den, surveying the proceedings with a bright orange eye. Five apprentices- the most Tundraclan had seen in a long while. What good fortune that they had grown up alright.

He sat down near the back, calmly wrapping his tail around his paws as he watched the cats around him, shivering with excitement instead of cold for once. It was hard to tell if the warriors of kits were more excited, judging by Snowwing's enthusiastic giggling. At least they'd have a moon or two of Sun to learn the basics of hunting in before the cold set in. Hopefully none of the apprentices would freeze to death or come down with black-nose, but that was unrealistic. There were always one or two. Perhaps this Moon would be his last as well. He had found himself wondering that more and more frequently.

Enough of the sad musings. Again, Finchfeather blinked slowly and focused more intently on the proceedings, attempting to offer the more nervous soon-to be apprentices a reassuring glance- though with his missing eye and exposed, scarred gums, it was probably more frightening than anything.

Berrykit mutinously scraped the hard-packed earth under her, looking at the other kits with the most anger she could muster (though it ended up more cute than terrifying, being that she was a tiny kit and all). Stupid Orchidkit and Indigokit and Stoatkit and all the rest of them. Why did they all get to be apprentices before her? She was almost as big as Artickit. Her mother had tried to explain, something about them all being around 6 moons old. It was so unfair. Berrykit wasn't a helpless kit anymore, she was 3 moons old! Why did they get to be older?

She was soon distracted from her "intense anger" by Northstar addressing the clan, calling all cats that could catch their own prey to sit under the rock. They were all trying to make fun of her for being the smallest. Well, she'd show them!

The blue-gray kit darted outside the nursery, hiding behind a rock to watch the ceremony. They'd never spot her here!

| Wishblossom | She-cat | Warrior || Arcticpaw | She-cat | Med Apprentice |

The young, soon-to-be apprentice was sound asleep late in the morning, possibly because she had night terrors all throughout the moons day. Arcticpaw experienced night terrors frequently through each awaiting moon rise, but no one really understood the true cause of this. It was a real burden on her however; It caused her to oversleep at times if not woken by another and could possibly be the source of her sleepiness while her mind was conscious, but she never let it show! She was a tough little she-cat who had experienced obstacles in her young life, some night terrors were not going to affect how she presented herself! Well...at least, she likes to try to see herself as a lion.

While fast asleep in the arms of Wishblossom, the Leader's meeting roar made it's way into the nursery where the young kits slept. Of course, Wishblossom, who was a protective sister/mother to Arctic, always slept with her if not busy with patrolling during the night. Once the yowl made its way into Arctic's ears, she jumped up out of Wish's arms, startled to death by the loud noise, "W-WHAT WHO WHERE!? I'M AWAKE!" said Arctic in a frantic voice, with her back arched upwards and her hair standing tall in high alert. Wishblossom, who had woken right when Arctic jumped, sat there silently laughing at the poor kit, "What is so funny!" Arctic said through a smile, "It's not my fault!!" Wishblossom slowly stretched her way up while laughing and rubbed up against the little kit, "Good morning scaredy cat!"

It was the big day for Arctic, she was finally going to meet her new Mentor! She was more hyper than ever, ready to learn and grow, even with as little sleep as she got through the night! She was a little afraid that her and the new Mentor would not get along, but who isn't nervous when first meeting someone? She was ready to see what the future held in paw! Arctic merrily hopped out of the nursery like she always does when excited, "Come onnnn Wish, you're too slow, I'm ready for this, I've been ready!!" Wishblossom smiled from behind the little kit, watching her hop towards the Leader's voice.

Once they reached the meeting place, Arctickit saw all the others, waiting to be called upon and told of their new Mentors. She could see all of them were fairly excited, well, most of them looked fairly excited! She may have been the most excited...maybe even too excited. Her eyes glanced over to Wishblossom who had went to go stand by the other Warriors, she gave Arctic a little smile from across the land and a wave of her tail. Arctic was a bit cold, as always, she was a cold little kit who wanted to steal the warmth from others. Looking towards the rock where Northstar stood, she noticed there was an Indigokit just below the ledge with the rest of the apprentices. She took off swiftly at lightning speed and sat on the other side of Indigo's shoulder, rubbing up against his pelt, "Hey Indigokit! Are you excited for the meeting!?" Arctic knew he had short-term memory loss and hoped that he didn't forget who she was like times before!

The clan was a mess in his eyes, he hoped the two who would be picked would show a little more stability to the clan than these two might. The cripple was even younger than he was, she should have just been passed down to the other medicine cat to get further training. He personally didn't trust her to take care of his wounds properly. Shifting awkwardly a cold chill rushed through the den, above on the flat wind wind was picking up and dropping the comfortable temperature, but really not by much. He just wanted to know if he got an apprentice so he could go on a morning hunting patrol to show the thing the very basics to survival, eating.

Not helping the matter of Fogdrift's welling self-consiousness was the look Herbtruffle gave her as she was leaving the Medicine Den. He looked almost comically enraged, his pale fur sticking in every direction, but she found no humor in the situation. She knew full fell that after this, he'd yell at her, and she'd quietly nod and assent, but that only seemed to rile him up. Did he want her to look worried? Afraid? But those were signs of weakness, and she couldn't appear weak or he'd get even more annoyed.

Despite all the tension brewing in her, she stood straight as usual as Herbtruffle clumsily went through his speech, shaking slightly. The older medicine cat turned to nod at her, green eyes shining with fear. Did she have to speak now? Was that normal?

"We hope to instruct you in the ways of caring for your clan, and wish you both success in these endeavors." Fogdrift stated in her typical passionless monotone. She shot a brief glance at her senior. No, he still wasn't going to say anything. Did she have to call the apprentices up herself?

"Orchidkit, Artickit, come forward."

So he stepped forward, tilting his head high to the damp ledge, eyes shifting from Fogdrift and the other. He was excited to say the least. Indigokit watched his brother with a light purr, nudging him with his nose. One could die, drop out, run away... really a lot of things can happen to the young ones in the clan. If he ever had kits he'd be their mentor no matter what the leader said, though... two toms can't make a kitten, now can they? The tom was gay, but he stayed away from everyone and snapped at those who still came near him. He wouldn't mind being that grumpy elder with no family or loved ones to recall when others are spinning fabulous tales to the kittens about their fierce warrior years.
