It was safe to say; if it hadn't been for the alien with the teal hair, Chump probably would've been dead like a sizable portion of the Zerm population. When the Zerm soldiers had first spotted the Galra fleet from their watchtowers and had sounded the warning sirens, it had already been too late for the inhabitants of Chump's village. The Galra had invaded her planet for one sole reason, to extract quintessence, and they wouldn't have left without every last drop of it.

While a couple dozen fast-moving Galra ships fired at the half dozen substandard Zerm ships from above, a smaller ship landed smoothly in the center of the village. It's doors opened and out piled Galra subordinates armed with heavy laser rifles. Then, what Chump presumed was their commander exited the ship. She was shorter than her soldiers with vibrant blue hair and a much scarier weapon.

Terrified, Chump scuttled behind a wagon, heart racing--praying the commander hadn't spotted her.

Thank you! I did realize I phrased it like someone died, but my favourite dance teacher is leaving my studio this year. She was my first teacher at my studio. Also what was the name of the OC I chose? Jade, right?

YEAH IT WAS JADE BECAUSE YOU MENTIONED A TEAL HAIRED ALIEN THAT’S ME! OOOOKAY!

Jade darted through the village, making sure that all of the Zerm had escaped, but she spotted one more, cowering behind a wagon.

“Hey! Kiddo!” She said, racing over to her. “You need to get out of here! It’s not safe!” She glanced over her shoulder.

Startled, Chump sprang to her feet. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted another fleet of Galra ships entering the atmosphere in the distance. The Zerm warning sirens had stopped sounding sometime when a Galra ship obliterated the watchtower--but she hadn't noticed.

Chump wanted to see her parents more than anything else at this exact moment--they'd protect her; they knew how to fight. But they were thousands of light years away, scavenging the galaxy. She was scared and wanted to hug her Mom--instead, she reached out and grabbed the mysterious alien's hand.

Jade smiled softly. “What’s your name?” She squeezed the young Zerm’s hand.

The alien's kind voice made Chump feel somewhat safer. "Chump," she said.

“I’m Jade.” She told her, noting the smaller alien’s slight relaxation. “I’m gonna get you out of here, okay?”

Jade looked not much older than Chump, so she felt kind of embarrassed to be holding her hand. They were so in control of the situation, too. It was as if Chump was acting like a child (well, they are a child, but you get my drift :P) and Jade was a rational, responsible caretaker. Nevertheless, she gripped onto Jade's hand and followed her.

Ahh thank you! She’s my purest bean! She also kinda looks like my gf, lowkey. XD

Jade ran towards where her friends were waiting. “This is the last one!” She told them. “The rest are evacuated. Let’s go!”

The group darted off, though Jade kept a slightly slower pace to make sure that Chump could keep up.

Chump ran alongside Jade and her companions. She could see the Galra ships above, but they were leaving Chump's village to track down the planet's source of quintessence--which, Chump knew from living on the planet her whole life, was at the bottom of the planet's only natural river.

The group came to a clearing, where a foreign ship was perched on a rock. It didn't look like one from the Galra empire. Chump presumed that it belonged to Jade and her crew.
