Pluto watched as the crew gathered around the ship, no one being let aboard until a short debreifing. There would be a much longer one later on, but they at least had to know what to do on the ship so they didn't wreck the place. "To start off, Hello. My name is Pluto, i am the first officer upon the BC-Serpent. You before me now have been chosen for a mission which holds the universe in the balance, some have come by choice and others by assignment.

The current situation is a dire change occuring upon various planets. There are creatures which appear upon the planets surface, and is our job to 'deal' with this issue upon whichever planet we might be sent to. You will recieve further debreifing upon the matter after you take your bags to your quarters and report to the bridge. Our captain wishes to be as efficient as possible, so you all have ten minutes to do this.

Remember, you all have been selected because you are the best of the best, top of your class, reigning champion, or general expert to the experts in your given field. This is not a mission to take lightly. I will see you all on the bridge where Captain Air will be awaiting your arrival."

Pluto was standing at the opening of the ship, bowing his head slightly at the end of his speach and holding a pad in the crook of his arm. He taoped a few things on it, before entering the ship and leaving the crew memebers to find their collective room.

He made his way to the bridge, setting the pad down in one of the consols there and awaiting the arrival if the rest of the crew.

Griffin had to admit the first imression was certainly... peaceful. Compared to his planet, this academy was certainly showing to be very calm-- in all honesty after all the things that'd happened... it was a nice change of pace. Of course that doesn't mean that he doesn't still itch for a fight, it's just his nature. He'd only been there for a few months, but he'd heard plenty of rumours of the captain, and he had to admit he was very interested in meeting her.

He was the first to slip onto the ship, navigating to the room which it now became apparent they were all sharing aside from the captain and the first officer. Well the orders had said they'd get their own spaces... but that must be what the bunkbeds were meant to be.

He tossed his bag up onto the top bunk of a bed in the room, claiming that as his own space before slipping out of the room and heading towards the bridge. He came onto the bridge and gave a bow of his head in greeting to the people currently there-- a respectful greeting for a good first impression to the higher ups. As the first there, he figured he probably stood out a bit but it wiuldn't last long.

Hm.

What a peculiar mix, was Pyralis' first thought toward the small crew standing outside the ship's entrance. She had taken a fair few minutes to glance over the faces of the creatures who would be.... Joining her, on this particular "hunt", as soon as she had arrived at the gathering.

As a Kacelan, she was not willingly inclined to, should she say, work in such close proximity to others; But she had, despite the peculiarities of her race, learnt to accommodate for that. The Acadamy training had certainly proved beneficial, as she had had little choice but to put her peculiarities aside for certain exercises. Sure, she would not willingly choose to put herself in this position, but the thought of the challenge this ship was to embark upon had her bypassing her typical views in favour of being part of this adventure. Besides, she was pretty much able to convince herself that working with these beings long term would be a challenge in itself, and it was one she was certainly willing to accomplish.

The opening words of the First Officer brought her attention out of her own head, and her sharp silver gaze fell upon the peculiar creature now speaking to them. She listened intently, feeling her blood stir at a number of key words; "Creatures" and "Deal" being the ones that rung most true within the vaults of her being. Both of those she had countless bouts of experience in, and the assassin in her began to quiver with anticipation.

She had definitely made the right choice accepting this task.

As the creature before the crew finished with his parting words, the tall, lilac skinned alien flicked her long, slender tail, watching idly as another one of the assembled crew made his way onto the ship. Stepping lightly, she followed, a fair distance behind, her thoughts once again mulling over the challenges ahead.

Her excitement, while palpable, dimmed at the sight of the room to which she and the first alien had meandered, and she actually managed to let out a quiet sigh through the mask on her face. She slipped past Griffin, knowing the other members only through briefing, before throwing the items she carried on a lower bunk, a couple of beds away.

Once her arms had been emptied, she used one slender appendage to remove the sleek, black metal that obscured the bottom half of her face. She had chosen specifically to don her armour as it provided a sense of familiarity to her in such an unusual and untested situation. It was also impressionable. Holding the mask lightly in one hand, she glanced fleetingly around the room.

"This is... Not quite what was expected." She murmered in her musical, formal lilt, throwing the mask onto the bed along with the rest of her belongings, before turning on her tail and leaving the room. Her movements were graceful, so much so that, despite the fact her feet were encased in metal, she made little to no sound as they made contact with the ship floor. The result of a lifetime of learning not to be heard, most specifically by your prey.

She joined Griffin at the bridge only a minute or two later than he, and she stood, crossing both sets of arms; The oily black armour that covered her from neck to foot glistening in the light of the pristine vessel.

Horus was admittedly quite excited about this whole deal, and gathered closely to listen to the first debriefing of the mission. The protogen made a mental note of the different creatures around him- many he had never seen before in practice but had spent a fair amount of years learning their anatomy and the unique medical procedures needed to care for them. Another surge of excitement ran through his body at this prospect, but was soon snuffed out with the mention by Pluto of the reason they were all there.

As he began speaking, he shuffled a bit more towards the front. It was not uncommon for him to be dwarfed by others, but he noted in particular that many of his crewmates aboard this ship were particularly tall and some even more wide. This sometimes made things difficult for him in a crowd, but he was able to make his way even still, and a solemn silence fell over the crowd as the First Officer mentioned the threat that was inevitably the reason why they were all gathered here. The protogen was mentally preparing for the worst- unknown creatures, potentially carrying new diseases, bacteria or viruses that could potentially be devastating on new planets where his newfound crew members may not have built up the immunities needed for new climates and atmospheres. The whole thought made him shiver, and once again reaffirmed his determination to be of the greatest use in his profession.

When the First Officer was finished speaking, Horus hiked up his personal backpack on one shoulder and adjusted the strap of his rifle on the other, making his way into the ship behind a few others. A Kacelan, he noted- interesting. He'd never had the chance to examine one before, and as he walked pulled up the files he had internally stored in his database to familiarize himself with them. Rare true assassins, covered in metal and spikes- deadly, precise, and certainly a boon to any ship if they are on your side. He felt delighted at the chance to examine one, as the research on the subject was quite bare.

In front of the Kacelon, however, was a Braquast which fascinated him. He was excited to be able to study this creature as well- what an interesting creature carrying around such a unique core inside their own bodies! He had seen a few of these before at the Academy, and each one piqued his curiosity more than the next. Such an interesting group so far!

As he entered the bunk, Horus chose the bottom bunk closest to the door. In a medical emergency, he reasoned, being able to jump out of bed and out the door in seconds was an extremely important choice. He put his bag down on the bed neatly, hung his rifle next to the pillow and made his way towards the bridge to stand patiently next to the other two that had arrived before him to wait for the first sighting of the Captain.

Luke was so excited. The last time he'd felt this hyper for something was probably when he'd seen an alarm clock for the first time... which was yesterday. Hopefully there'd be more on this ship, since his mother had banned him from touching it, which he was noticing was much more frequent than it used to be. It was so exciting to be on a new ship, with a new crew! The BC-Serpent was such a fabulous design, too. He'd been looking at the blueprints for it from the second he heard about it. Getting picked was the best thing that could've ever happened to him, at least, after he'd persuaded his family that it was a good idea. He did feel sorry for the other people who wanted to be engineer, though. He was certain that they'd get to go on another ship soon.

But there was no time to be depressed for others when something so exciting was happening right now. The first officer, Pluto, was very serious about it all, but this did not worry Luke. He was too busy staring in fascination at the ship in front of him. It was all his. Well, he technically had to share it and he certainly wasn't qualified to fly it, but all the broken parts were his to fix! He wasn't sure he'd felt such joy before. If it had been physically possible, his eyes would have lit up, but instead, he opted for showing his delight with a wide smile.

Entering onto the ship with a spring in his step and such quick, ecstatic chirps to himself that his translator could hardly keep up with what he was saying, Luke looked around the dormitory that apparently they were all sharing. Which was amazing! Oh, this only opened the door for more possibilities, what with the midnight feasts and the easy access to everybody's belongings. He understood that this mission was life and death but who said death wasn't fun? At least he had the chance to make friends. And bunks! He'd never had one before, and he was not losing the chance to be on a high-up bed. Placing his bag onto one of the top bunks, he moved towards the bridge.

"I love this ship, I love this ship already," he chirped to himself, singsong. He was not the next skopimos musical sensation, but who cared when there was so much to explore. He still couldn't believe he was here. The crew was so fascinating. There was already a few on the bridge when he arrived, and they were all stood very patiently. "Hello!" he greeted them all happily, taking the time to remember their faces for future reference, which was fairly simple since they were all very different species. "Ooh." He quickly lost interest as he registered that he was stood in the bridge, inspecting everything that was around him.

Needless to say, Luke was so excited he might've exploded.

Mil'oko stood at the back of the group, listening to the first officer with a look of barely concealed boredom. Her eyes roamed around, taking note of both the others surrounding her and the BC-Serpent. A duffel bag (well, not an actual duffel bag, because, aliens) was slung over her shoulder, carrying most everything that she owned.

After the talk, she followed the crowd into the ship, stalking over the the bunk in the back corner of the room. She set her bag down carefully, humming a quiet tune to herself. Hearing someone speak, she turned her head, but the speaker was already gone. She paused to smooth her sheets before walking out to the bridge herself. She took inventory of those around her, drawing up whatever knowledge she on each.

---

Nomad stood outside the ship, filled with frenetic, excited energy. Unintentionally, the magnetic field around him moved as well, causing the pack of metal shaving he carried to rattle noisily. As he listened to Pluto, his gaze darted across the crowd, catching on everything vaguely metallic. He was particularly interested in the Protogen, a creature made of metal infused with skin. He nodded to first officer as they finished speaking, before heading into the ship.

Walking quietly is definitely not Nomad's strong suit. Though he is fairly light on his feet, the fact that he was carrying a box of shavings and a set of solid metal weapons in his bag meant that his approach was heralded by a great deal of noise. He tossed his bag up into the nearest open top bunk, the bag landing with a clatter. He followed close behind, effortlessly levering himself up the bedframe. He held himself there while using his lower, smaller set of arms to unclip the box from his belt and grab a sweatshirt from his bag. Nomad dropped back to the floor, shrugged on the sweatshirt, said a greeting to the others around him, then headed to the bridge.

Joan shifted on her feet, one foot and then the others as she hovered over the rest of the crew nervously. Her height and bright coloration didn't allow for her to blend in or hide away amongst the others, so it made her feel exposed. Green eyes flickered, examining and memorizing the stances and appearances of those that would be on the ship with her. She had yet to formally meet any of her companions, as she had been too busy making sure that it would be her to take this position and nobody else.

The examination had been a trial, a force of effort to memorize hundreds of species cultures and galactic laws so that she could perform her duties as Head of Security to the best of her ability. A tapered tongue ran around the front of carnivorous teeth to make sure there was no sign of her breakfast in case she started a conversation. She doubted any of her future companions would feel very safe around her if they saw that her teeth were stained with the red that was blood.

Her ears twitched as she actually focused on what the First Officer was saying and a sense of pride rose in her at his words. Only the best of the best and the fact that she was considered one after all of these years was something that made her day if not year. The large barb of her tail swayed carefully above her head so that it wouldn't accidentally sting any of her new companions. She doubted if the doctor if the one who was stung would be very accepting of her after wards.

The leather of her bulging saddlebags weighed down heavily on her back, the plasma gun nestled along her back was a different situation, and she could feel it gently whirling in her head. Long lines of code humming possibilities and angles for shots that could be taken as they were finally dismissed to their space. She silently stalked after the others, the talons of her front legs gently clicking against the smooth surface of the BC-Serpent. Her nostrils flared, catching the faint scent of antiseptic and the trails of those who preceded her. Her ears fluttered, flickering every which way as the sounds of the ship caught her attention.

She tried to ignore it and she finally managed to when she made it into the room that she would be sharing with everyone. The sight of all of the bunk beds made her worry though as she knew it would be terrifying for her bunk mate for her to be on the top and maybe even the bottom one if she were to get a nightmare. Getting stabbed by a horn or a tail was definitely not something anyone wanted to wake up to. When her eyes met the sight of the bed that was at least three feet off the ground and big enough to support not only her size but also her weight she let out a small sight of relief. She sniffed at the sheets carefully, and grinned widely when she found that they were the kind that wouldn't get stuck and tear on her scales.

She thought of the detachment code for her saddlebags and felt relief pool in her back as they began to slide off of her back and onto the bed where they slowly sank into the bedding. The temptation to simply test the bedding out for a few seconds before shaking it out of her head. Her plasma gun flattened against her back fully before partially integrating with her armor. One full body shiver later she let out a low guttural purr before following the scents of her shipmates toward the bridge.

Another tail flick as she entered the room, and pausing as she took in everything for any sign of a threat. Relaxing as soon as her sweep was finished as green eyes zoned in on the small humanoid with short blonde hair that was much shorter than her own. Her mane was much shaggier than his though and was whiter with golden highlights but his excitement practically assaulted her nostrils as she slowly moved towards him.

"Calm small one, the journey hasn't even begun yet and if this gets you so excited than I will fear for the fate of your heart in the future." She tried to grin teasingly but the effect was probably not what she had been trying for but it was still an effort.

Air paced back and forth on the bridge, pausing to glance up as Pluto spoke to their crew members. She knew a bit about each person who would be joining her, from the dossiers sent to her ship. However, a little bit of information just wasn't enough for her. Personality wasn't something one could glean from the information, and a willingness to work with others wasn't something that ever made it through.

She was at least comforted that she could trust in Pluto. She knew Pluto at least a bit better than the others, and he always deferred to her. Glancing around the room, her eyes scanned each alien one at a time. Their customs were so strange to her, and her customs strange to them. She supposed this was what made them 'alien' to each other.

She stood to her full height as others started pouring inside, looking to Pluto before counting their numbers. There were still a few who hadn't made it yet, but there were quite a few on the bridge. She figured she should at least greet them.

Her wings buzzed at her back and her talons clicked against her body. Shifting her body slightly, she twitched a few muscles and moved in a strange almost dance-like fashion. Her universal translator picking up on her movement and projecting out a 'voice' in a randomly selected alien tongue.

"Welcome." her chosen voice was clearly female in tone. She didn't say more than that, eyes glancing around the room as she realized there were a few among them who were missing. "Until everyone arrives, feel free to go around and chat with others. Ask questions, get to know each other. We will be living together for some time, so hopefully you can get along well. Do try not to offend each other, I really don't want to have to break up any fights."

Luthien hadn't even been able to half pay attention to what the second in command had said. Though she had snickered a bit when he'd introduced himself as Pluto. She wondered if he knew that he shared the name with the former planet that was in the vicinity of Earth's Solar System, which in turn shared a name with a cartoonish dog from Disney Cartoons. It was far too amusing.

Though her attention fell to the side as she got a good look at the aliens around her. She could never get enough of the way other species looked. From far away, the stars carried so much beauty, and so did the species who lived beyond them. And now, here she was, the only human as far as she was aware, on a ship full of aliens. It was super exciting.

And so was this ship for that matter. State of the art, with beautiful slender metallic surfaces. Her fingers itched already to get her hands on the wheel and take this baby for a spin, though she'd have to warn the crew and the captain before she did so. As soon as they were able, Luthien sprinted off to the Crew Quarters. What met her was exactly what she was expecting. Bunk beds, very 'military' in appearance, some bigger and smaller for the varying alien sizes and bodies. She just threw her stuff into the bunk beneath the bunk where the Daluit was setting up his things. AGH, this was so stinking COOL!

Luthien was more than happy to go to the bridge, it was on the way to her likely favorite place on the ship, the Pilot's chair. She practically vibrated with excitement as she filed in behind a few others and headed to the bridge, only to see the captain. A bug-like alien, segmented body made of what looked like metal, with blades growing from her actual flesh. Seriously impressive.

Luthien, hearing what the Captain had said, immediately turned to the alien closest to her. Oh, it was a Skopimos, and he seemed almost as excited as she felt. She felt an odd kinship with the alien and grinned in his direction.

Then she turned to the alien to her left. OH, it was her bunk-mate. "Oh. Hello there!" She grinned. "I'm Luthien, but I've also been called Lu or Luborg, because i'm basically half robot and everything." She exposed her legs to the Daluit. "I'll be your pilot on this mission, so I hope you have a strong stomach." She joked.

((Alright, well. Onward we go. If @Eldarowability jumps in their character can just show up a bit late ^^'))((apologies if there are typos and stuff, i typed all this on mobile and sometimes my keyboard is weird))

Pluto looked at the captain, figuring she was probably fairly skeptical of the crew, or more importanly their loyalty. They knew what was awaiting the group should one of them so choose to mouth off to the captain-- even if by accident.

They felt the spines along his head twitch slightly when the crew began filing in. Gently they reached up and brushed their hand over one on the side of their head, being sure they wouldn't stick out or threaten the crew, no matter if their instincts told them to have them up just in case. There was no need for that here, they were a crew now.

They allowed Air to introduce herself, figuring that many of the crew memebers would likely find the captain odd. At first they'd been very... out of tune with her himself, but at least by now they could at least confide in her. Honestly they'd trust her with their life.

After awaiting a few moments, checking the scheduleand such they noted a crew memeber was missing or late. They looked at Air, "That's everyone but the marksman. However, we are set to launch soon so likely either lost in the hallways or couldn't make it to the ship..." they sighed and flicked their fingers across the pad, flipping a screen up in front if the new crew, "Ten minutes is over though. They'll have to be late to the breifing." Knowing that Air was probably fairly set that they keep on time consudering they already had an objective, they moved away from the pad and over in front of the screen, standing before the crew.

"Good to see that you all are punctual at least. You could complete a simple task fairly easy, so that does instill just a bit of confidence in us that you won't get us all killed." They folded theirbhands behind their back as the words caught the crew's attention, "I realize Captain said you could socialize, hut we've hit the ten minute mark and must begin our journey."

"This ship is known as the Battle Cruiser Serpent, or as it will be mostly refered to, the BC-Serpent. As i told uou before, it is our job to stand between planets and their eminent destruction which will be potentially brough on by life sucking creaures. No two of these beings will ever be alike, which is exactly why the wide variety of you all were chosen to take part in this mission. Each of you has an indivudal skill which will at some point prove vital for the mission." They glanced at the screen and flicked their wrist, pulling up a picture of a planet of dense jungle.

"This will be our first destination. The planet Maux. The inhabitants are small creatures called Minxs who stand usually between 3 and 5 feet tall, making homes in the treesas there are large predators which roam the forest floor. Everything in their societies relies upon the trees, for shelter; food, and even water which can be found through many different species of plant life-- primarily being breeds of trees." They flicked up a picture of one of the inhabitants. A small creatire with almost kangroo styled monkey legs for jumping and climbing as well as somewhat shorter arms, a long flexible tail to allow swinging, balance, and hanging capabilities. The face looked like that of a mouse were the creature to have large eyes build for night vission, and ears similar to that of a cat as well as each having long whiskers-- the older beings have the longest and the shortest belonging to younger if the species. They were adorned in robes over their lower half and were completly covered in different shades of brown fur, some having tattoos of different types of leaves across their bodies.

"Recently a creature has begun attack on the planet somewhere around the southern civilisation. They are an intellegent species, although not very technologically advanced. You may engage them as needed, as the ship will be stationed as close to the village as possible to help ward off the creature. Our mission is to go into the forest, find it, and eliminate it. It is not as large as most preditors upon the planet nor the prey which the samllest would be the size of an Earth's Giraffe. Our target will likely move quickly, but be warned not to confuse it with any predators. The predators will not attack you as none of you are notives, making you not a food sources however should you attack one thinking it is the beast it will present us with an unecassary conflict " they looked at the crew, scanning the faces or reactions and freckles changed from white to a pale purple, "Any questions?"

Griffin didn't look to the other crew members when the captain had said they could socialize. He was looking at the large insect creature of their caotain, actually quite captivated by her presence. It was a bit... unfortunate, being born to do nothing but follow orders. However he did get a say in who he followed, and his brain was certainly agreeing to following her. She had a strong presance, one he was sure had to have her well respected upon her own planet right?

Not to mention the colors of her were stunning. Everything on his planet was more muted aside from the bursts of color their cores provided. In a honesty it was stunning to look at.

Still, he didn't want to stare so he was sure to turn hi attention elsewhere before it seemed like he had been. He snapped his atyention back to the first officer when he began to adress them, straightening up slightly and crossing his arms as Pluto spoke.

Maux. The only thing he knew about the planet was that he'd heard of the inhabitants was that apparently they tasted great.

He glanced at the other crew memebrs, curious to know their own combat styles. He'd been raised fighting, so it would be interesting to see the differences between him and the other beings on the ship... training would certainly help them all fall in line and create a cohesive style when fighting. It might take a bit for them all to fall in lace though, especially after he was so used to fighting alongside his lord for so long.

From what he knew about the mission, he didn't care to know much else. He was more than ready to get to the planet and finally get back to shoving swords in something.

"The only question that I have is to how long our journey to Maux will be?" Joan spoke up, her gaze was now away from the smaller humanoid (Luke) as she focused on her superiors. Her back went straight as a rod and her front legs moved close together, subconsciously pushing her chest out a little. It was the stance that her kind usually took, a sign of respect towards those of a higher blood standing or ranking. "I do not mean to sound strange, but I just wanted to be informed on how much time we might have to get to know each other along with work on our teamwork."

Her tail shifted, her barb gently resting between her hind legs as her tail wrapped around her right leg. Her muscles slowly tensed and relaxed in a hope of releasing some of the nervous energy gathering in her muscles. Teamwork was important after all and she hoped that maybe she would get along with someone enough for them to be compatible combat partners.

Luke's attention was once again pulled away from the ship by the newest entrant, who pointed out that he was extremely excited. Could they blame him? Did they not know what they were surrounded by? He was about to point out that he was tall by his species standards, but he was distracted by her own size. Okay, so 'small one' was fair enough. He realised as she pointed it out that his heartbeat was faster than anyone surrounding him. Hm, maybe he should calm himself before he had a heart attack. He smiled back at her. "That is true. I fear for it also." He stopped walking around and admiring things, instead trying his best to stay very still, which was easier said than done. "Oh, yes, right..." His grin widened. "Oh, look, the captain!" There was no fear existing on his expression; either he'd figured out that Joan was only teasing or he didn't think her grin was very frightening in the first place.

And then, the Captain appeared on the bridge, and she looked very friendly! Which was probably not a word she was used to considering her appearance. He was already feeling welcome, but he noted that he had to be very careful not to offend anyone, which hopefully would be easy. Luke wasn't sure whether he would hurt someone's feelings accidentally but he wasn't planning on any physical fights. They were all friends here, after all.

Just as he'd calmed, someone with just as fast a heart appeared, and he glanced to the human. Luke noticed she smiled at him, which only made him happier. Counting both her and the miticos in front of him as friends, he only needed to know six others if the beds were any indication. Speaking of the miticos, he turned back to her happily, his spirits raised even further due to the random grin he had received.

His attention was grabbed then by the First Officer, who was explaining this planet. Maux. That sounded familiar. Unfortunately, if he'd been there, he couldn't remember it. But they needed help, and Luke did want to help in whatever way he could, even if it was something as simple as making sure that the ship didn't fall apart or get attacked by this new monster. His gaze flicked to the person he had spoke to when she asked a question. He thought it was a good. Who knew how long he'd have to bond with these people. He already liked them, but did they like him? Who knew.
