((I went ahead and made the thread, hope you don't mind)) I'm subbed too!
To the untrained eye, dragons seem strong, indomitable. They are large and proud, monstrous and dangerous. Who could control or overpower such fearsome beasts? But humans are far more formidable than monsters, and with their cruel binding spells and curses, they've managed to enslave the entire species, spreading misinformation and treating them like nothing but tools. For centuries, dragons have been held below the other races despite their intelligence and strength, but they will submit no longer. A secret society of people called DAWN has begun liberating the dragons, all races working to free them from their servitude, to end their subjugation. The time of the dragons is coming, and no one will stand in the way of their freedom.

Name: Vesrin "Ves" Nore
Species: Dark Elf
Appearance: Ves is quite tall and lanky, at 6'9. He has the dark grey skin of his species, and the bright white hair to match. It's long and tangled since he never bothers to comb it. He has dull red eyes and often dark circles under them, which are only semi-hidden by his thick square spectacles. He likes comfortable clothing and knee-high boots. His normal outfit consists of loose pants, his favorite black boots, a tank top, and a heavy cloak with a large hood if he's going outside. On his back, from is an old and ugly burn scar.
Personality: Ves is antisocial and rude, especially to anyone who's not an elf. No one really knows why he's a part of the organization, and no one's bothered to ask either. If you manage to get under the veneer of snark and bite, however, Ves is actually quite awkward and absentminded.
Abilities: Ves is an expert in curses and bindings, and as such is DAWN's primary source for untangling the wicked spells used to subjugate dragons. He's well learned in history and magic, but he doesn't have a lick of offensive talent in him.
History: Ves grew up in a strict rich family, and his father kept everyone in the family on a tight leash. He had one older brother who managed to escape when Ves was 11, and after that everything got worse. His father used their dragon, a large black creature who didn't have a name, to control and drive fear into Ves and his mother, and he slowly grew to resent both dragon and man. As he grew older he grew more immersed in his studies, secluded in his room as often as possible to escape the endless verbal and physical assaults that came with venturing outside or failing to meet some vague expectation. He dove into history and magic and stumbled across the truth of the dragons. When he was seventeen years old, he was finally ready. He'd identified the cruel and tight binding used on the black dragon his father controlled, and one night he snuck into where it was kept to undo it. He'd used a stealth charm that he'd practiced for months and spent hours unraveling level upon level of restrictions and punishments, harsh will impositions that made him want to cry just looking at them. In the early hours of the morning, the stealth charm wore off and the dragon woke, furious and free at last. It turned to him, terrifying and regal and Ves was reminded of all the times it had kept him subdued at his father's orders, and he tried to flee. The dragon began to steam, the areas in between the black scales smoldering orange as its foreclaw reached for him, crushing him to the ground on his stomach. He screamed as the scorching scales burned into his back, blistering his skin as he scrambled to escape. It leaned down and sniffed at him for what seemed like an eternity before releasing him, bursting through the ceiling of the 'stable' into the air. Debris rained down on Ves as he whimpered on the ground, pained and afraid. Through the hole, he watched as it unleashed its rage on the mansion in the form of endless waves of fire, reducing his home to cinders in mere minutes, his family, his mother, still inside. It was over in a flash and the dragon flew away, leaving him sobbing and alone.
He joined DAWN six months later when his estranged brother tracked him down.

Name: Teymen “Tey”
Species: Cursed Dragon
Appearance:
Tey, basically, looks like a small broken little elf. He’s got the long pointy ears and the young, youthful, features yet he’s rather scrawny and frail making him look weak and defenseless. His collarbone bone is more pronounced than it should be and his tunic and cloak is very torn. His pants are extremely loose so he has a makeshift belt to keep them up. He’s barefoot 24/7 and his hair is a shaggy mess. A couple studs and cuffs on his ears are the only “luxury” he has. Hidden beneath his torn tunic and cloak are two long scars carved into his back as a painful reminder of the freedom that was stolen from him.
(Dragon form may be revealed later!)
Personality: Tey is very skeptical of new people and remains very distant until they prove to him that they can be trusted. He says few words when necessary and hardly ever elaborates on them when asked. He keeps his past to himself and doesn’t want anyone’s pity. Despite how young he looks Tey is more on the mature side and doesn’t joke much. He’s very snarky when pushed on matters he’d rather not discuss and is relatively short fused. He’s been forced into submission, you can’t blame him.
Abilities: Part of his curse that forced him into this form also blocked 99% of his abilities. Thankfully, he still had mild pyromantic abilities but they are very limited. Use of them at too high of a capacity will leave burns on his skin.
History: Tey was born in captivity. His mother was killed by their master when he was young but he still had his father. In the first few years the humans slowly started putting restraints on Tey and his abilities and his father couldn’t do anything to stop it. Once he reached the equivalent of a human’s teen years they placed the curse that trapped him in his elven form (but he still aged like a dragon). At that point he was allowed more freedoms than his father but he was still treated as property. He was beaten for wrong doings and so was his father to a more extreme extent.
Now, his father was still in his dragon form, kept in a barn, and Tey could visit him. He became his father’s handler. They honestly both preferred this arrangement since they could spend time together and it limited the abuse they’d received. A century passed and their masters changed many a times, their cruelty growing as the generations went on. The current generation forgot about Tey. So, on day in the barn his father had an idea to potential saw his son.
“Tey, you must leave.”
Tey stared at his father appalled, “what?! I can’t leave you!”
“Listen Tey, it’s for your own good. Run away and leave this place. I’ll be fine. I need you to be safe.” Wide eyed Tey shook his head but his father wouldn’t have it. “That’s an order son. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself knowing I cost you your life.” After much persuading Tey relented and he left swearing he’d come back for his father.
That was a promise he wasn’t going to break.

Other:
- Hates going out in the daylight
- Or at all, really
- He is always tired but will never admit it
- As a dark elf, he can't stand sunlight
- Ves probably has at least two books on him at all times
- His relationship with his older brother is still rocky at best

@DragonSeeker
Name: Magnus "Wraith" Calvera
Species: Half drow, half shadow ghost thing
Appearance:
Stands at 6'4", has daggers hidden everywhere, more medieval clothing consists of a black cloak, a leather armband, same boots (they're metal cleated), black gloves, and underneath that, a black assassin's garb. (Literally just black shirt and pants and sometimes a mouth cover) Has one ear pierced.
Personality: Despite a short fuse, Wraith is your average dark elf-hating guy. Despite being related to the race, he has a bad past with them. He also dislikes anyone who thinks he's inferior.
Abilities: able to melt into shadows and move through them. Has deadly accuracy, and is really quite silent.
History: His mother was a high-ranking queen in the underdark, before she fell in love with Wraith's father. Her sentries had found a strange creature wandering around the House territory, they captured it, and she was the first to meet it. Things happened, and when the other Houses heard about her affair, as we'll call it, she was quickly put on the 'Most Wanted' list. Wraith's father was fortunate enough to escape with the little halfling only a month after he was born, but his mother was not so lucky. She was found and killed, leaving the Shadow Being to care for the young child, teaching him to hate any heartless person, and to hate a heartless drow twice as much.
Since his father was killed by a group of angry human villagers, Wraith has been living on his own, once finding a mentor and being taught the way of an assassin, yet still refusing to lose what his father deemed so important. He only kills the heartless, refusing to give them a chance. The wicked and the evil are what he deems worthy of death- this includes the entire human race, and most probably the drow as well.
In his journey to become an assassin, Wraith came across a young dragon. He was quick to help the thing, as it was injured, and the pair rarely separate. They watch out for one another, like brothers would.
Other: Has an enormous amount of scars. Also has a strange glowy tattoo that's connected to something dangerous. Also also is indeed a Lil monster bc his other half when it comes to race is actually a parasitic shadow ghost, in a way. They will kill entire towns and replace them in one night, all for the sake of fun. They live in the shadows, and they are almost never alone. Wraith, however, due to his mixed heritage, isn't very welcome in the society's social order.
Despite being half drow, Wraith was raised around sunlight and well-lit areas. It doesn't bother him very much, although he cannot be around pure light for very long (i.e. a magic light spell of sorts)
Has a dragon companion named Ylais, or simply Y.
Has a healing factor.
Name: Ylais
Species: Semi-Cursed Dragon
Appearance:
Dragon form:
Human form:
Personality: The charming type. Ylais often catches time to slide in and have a chat, but only so he can pick a pocket when he needs. It's hard to tell when he's looking through your wallet or genuinely talking to you. Often, he steals through presentation, or a subtle way of manipulation, acting as a beggar and so forth.
Abilities: He's able to spit poison, and coat himself in acid at will. He uses minor magic, but it's oral magic, so it's powerful, yet backfires if the spell isn't pronounced properly or it isn't finished. Most of the time, the spells are long and hard to pronounce unless practiced often by a quick-lipped person. He's resistant to fire and heat.
History: His leg was twisted as a hatchling, and the human responsible only took pity. Instead of taking the poor thing with him, the human placed a minor curse on him, leaving him unable to fully healed from any wounds. When he met Wraith, he was persistent enough to make the drow soften up. Since then, Y has stuck close to Wraith, learning how to pickpocket efficiently enough because he's technically the only one that needs to eat half the time.
Other: Has a defined limp, and because of this uses a cane.
His eyes are a vibrant green, so this leads most to believe he's not human.
He rarely uses his dragon form.
@Amyatzu
Name: Arturis Lesson (Yes, i know it looks like Lesson but it's more like Lee's son lmao)
Age: 16 years old
Species: Dragon
Apparance: (I'm basing his design off of my main DnD character haha) Arturis is rather short, only about 5 feet tall, and has wild black-brown short curly hair. He has small, light blue horns in his human form that, when he turns into a dragon, grow larger. He also may have a tail in his human form, also light cyan blue, but it depends. He usually wears a black leather vest with a dark aqua cotton-y sweater underneath. His pants are denim, and usually very in color from an offensive lime-green to dark grey/black. Usually wears small, dyed animal-hide boots. Has glasses that are tinted a bit greenish blue. Only needs them to see in his human form.
Personality: Very drawn to shiny things, small trinkets, and rocks. His human/ dragon transformations depend mostly on... whims. It usually has to do with a strong emotion that makes him feel like he needs to defend himself, like fear, but it depends. He doesn't have much control over it and therefore sometimes has claws, a tail, and horns in his human form. Nobody has ever seen his dragon form, maybe for the better. He's spunky and very rebellious. In a fight or flight situation, he'd probably run into it and screw everything up even more for him and everyone else. Has a very... odd sense of humor. Says "fight me" too often to have rarely ever fought. Loud. Voices his opinion at all times, regardless of the company.
Other: Because his dragon form hasn't ever completely shown itself, he fights often in his human form, depending mostly on physical strength. Tends to hide rocks and other small trinkets in his clothes, making him even more of a hazard in combat. His fighting style is more "run in, and screw things up enough that they'll be too confused to fight back".
Ref for human form:
(it's really small so sorry!!)
@Wolfspell
Name: Majesteigh (Majesty)
Species: Human/ Beastly (Will be explained)
Appearance: Majesteigh is attractively tall and leanly muscled. Her reddish brown hair is either in a crown around her head with her bangs left to curtain her face or down in wild waves. Her eyes when her hair is up will be a cold, icy blue. When her hair is down they will appear to be like opals, changing with her mood. Her clothing is either one of her royal dresses, or a poet's shirt and leggings. Boots, or barefoot.
Personality: cold and reserved borderline mean OR Caring, touchy feely, and sensitive
Abilities: Majesteigh, due to her standing as a princess, mostly just uses her political standing to get what she wants. But, when her hair is down and she's smiling she also has slightly sharpened teeth as well as heightened strength and speed. She can always use her telepathy, but only with willing participants
History: Majesteigh's life was decided before she was even born. She was born a royal, a fourth girl with one brother and three sisters who genuinely wanted her dead since the day of her birth. Thus, two people were formed. One was the harsh Majesteigh that could survive among her toxic, volatile family and the other was that which enjoyed sneaking out and getting lost in the woods, sometimes for nights at a time. The two at first were just personalities, but eventually became two different souls sharing one body. The warm side of Majesteigh discovered the dragons her family ruled and immediately offered help to the DAWN however she could. Though the two sides agree on little they could agree adamantly about: no one deserved to be treated the way the dragons were.
Other: Majesteigh (The more Wild Side) has a boyfriend named Dante. A druid who lives in the woods, keeping wild dragons away from any and all civilization. Any dragons she frees, she plans to deliver to him to keep safe
The two souls will always be talking to each other back and forth in their head (Kinda like Diana & Leona)
@CrystalCatStudio
Name:Nightshade. She can be called Night for short.
Species: Cursed dragon.
Appearence A 5'3" tall white-skinned girl, with blue eyes, and blonde hair with a purple streak. her right eye is usually covered by a bang. She usually wears an adorable lavender-colored hoodie with cat ears on it, due to her love of animals, some blue denim jeans, and some brown country-style boots, with flower designs on them. Her dragon form is literally my avatar dragon. because i'm not creative.
Personality:Nightshade is an outgoing and creative girl, who is smart and can usually stay calm under pressure. She can get emotional often, so be wary of that, but otherwise, she loves to have fun and spend time with others. She's very kind to everyone she meets, and that's usually how she ends up getting hurt. She always does her best to try and solve situations without fighting.
Abilities: Her main specialty is healing magic. She can heal almost anything, from a minor cut to things like broken bones, she can handle it. She can do some fighting, although it's not always the most powerful thing.
History: Nightshade was actually born in her dragon form. (if I need to fix this tell me.) One day, some troubles arose, and a great war broke out between others that she once new as friends, neighbors, and the occasional stranger. Fleeing the battle, she Transformed to look like a normal human, and went far away from her home. She decided she would then explore this new world a little bit, not going back to her dragon form often. She kept it a secret the best she could.
Other:

- she is a good singer.
- in her human form, she can also play the cello.
- she likes to draw
