Magolor

Species:
Halcandran
Abilities:
Magolor is a renowned mage and a rather skilled technician. Since the members of his race– simply put– do not possess legs, they get around by floating, usually hovering half a foot to two feet above the ground, though they can certainly levitate much higher if so desired. Magolor is considered a prodigy even by the already high standards of his race, though he tries to be humble about it. He is able to teleport with ease, and often uses this as a form of undetectable transport. However, doing so quickly spends his energy, and he has a habit of pushing himself too far at times… If this is the case, Magolor will unexpectedly crash for a bit as soon as he reaches his destination, leaving him completely defenseless to any potential attacks. He has a miniature pocket dimension within his cape, in which he can store a variety of small items. However, there is a specific item that may
never leave– the shattered remains of the Master Crown, which he only keeps with him to prevent an unsuspecting passerby from falling under its terrible curse.
He had initially stolen this ancient artifact from the guardian of Halcandra themselves, the fiery hydra known as Landia. As soon as he placed the crown atop his head, he morphed into a powerful new form, gaining many new abilities. These said abilities include– but are certainly not limited to– launching somewhat weak purple spheres of energy, opening up dimensional rifts more easily, channeling his magical energy to produce a shield, summoning mindless Popstar-esque species to fight for him, and being able to cast out a strong blue fire from his palms. During the battle, after Magolor had taken an adequate amount of damage (and the many voices of the Master Crown became impatient), he was granted even more abilities, such as producing star-shaped black holes and firing powerful lasers. However, these newer additions drain more energy than the others and so must be used sparingly. Despite his world-conquering ways being a thing of the past, many of these additions stayed with Magolor after the ordeal. Magolor actually prefers not to switch into this form at all, since the possibility of being re-corrupted by the Master Crown still lingers… If he so chooses to morph into either of his alternate forms, it is likely he is desperate and has no other means of self-defense.
Speaking of the other alternate form, the Master Crown had refused to give up, even when Magolor had been rightly defeated… It completely took over his mind, warping his body beyond recognition. And yes, Magolor recalls, it was extremely agonizing, to put it lightly. This empty vessel has been classified as a Soul, similar to those of other past threats to the Gamble Galaxy. Whatever dark spirits resided within the Master Crown were more than willing to push Magolor’s very essence to the limits in order to get what they wanted, resulting in a near-death experience for the Halcandran. In this form, his powers are somewhat similar to those he already possessed but amplified to a massive extent. His black hole attack was strengthened, and he was able to produce thorny, vine-like spikes protruding from large, star-shaped, inter-dimensional rifts. Magolor was also able to wield dual silver swords resembling the legendary blade, Galaxia, a mallet of ice, summon horizontal pillars of fire, and wield a variety of other element-based attacks. Finally, Magolor Soul is capable of distorting reality itself for a short period of time, seemingly flipping everything upside-down in order to disorient his opponents.
There is an EXTREMELY low chance that Magolor would even consider using his Soul Form as a final resort. He would rather die a thousand times over than be put through the sheer agony of the entire process, not to mention the almost complete lack of control he has over himself while in this form. If Magolor has transformed into this abomination, then it is safe to assume that the normally cheerful and optimistic Halcandran has lost all hope, or is perhaps ready to sacrifice himself for a worthy cause. If one was to.. attempt to harshly persuade him into giving in, and if he had no means of escaping into an alternate dimension for the time being, in that matter, Magolor would most likely condense what little energy he had remaining to promptly erase himself from this plane of reality.
Weaknesses:
Magolor does not like engaging in combat in the slightest and may even flat-out refuse to fight others, even if he ends up getting harmed. He will occasionally experience strange and almost unpredictable mood swings, made even stranger by the fact that he usually upholds a cool and polite demeanor. In other words, he can go from calm and collected to seething with anger in a moment’s notice. Magolor is prone to anxiety attacks, which can understandably get in the way of completing tasks. He also cannot be left alone for too long without somebody or something to keep him company, and may possibly experience a mental or emotional breakdown. He often gets distracted by random shiny things, and while this is not necessarily a setback itself, he will often pause to stare at it for a bit. He also has a weakness for the common Earth herb
nepeta cataria, better known simply as “catnip.” His best friend and partner-in-crime, Marx, has an apparent weakness for it as well, seeing as he has found his dear companion laying in it face-down on multiple occasions.

Abilities:
Marx is actually extremely intelligent, though he rarely acts it. He primarily uses his quick wit for things like telling bad jokes, pulling pranks, and scheming up the perfect comeback or insult in a moment’s notice. He has exceptionally good balancing skills, and can often be seen rolling around atop a beach ball. Although not considered a useful skill, Marx has near-complete individual control over his eyes. He, of course, uses this ability to weird out others by making his pupils face in completely different directions. Naturally, part in due to his young age, he could use very little weak magic before what is commonly referred to around Popstar as the ‘Milky Way Wishes incident’. However, after stealing and making a wish upon Galactic Nova, Marx was given an assortment of new powers, as well as a flashy pair of wings that he can’t help but obsess over.
Since then, Marx has been able to rapidly teleport around, spit out icy bombs, and fling out crescent blades from and fire golden arrows from his wings. He can travel and hide within the shadows, shoot beams of energy from his mouth, and is even able to split himself in half in order to produce a black hole. Not even Marx is quite sure how this last one works. However, it uses up a good deal of energy to perform that trick, and so he tries (keyword being ‘tries’) to use it sparingly. (He’s recognized this as a quick way to consume more food at a much faster rate, however.)
Similar to Magolor, Marx has a Soul Form of his own. Though he may call the experience itself fun and dismiss the matter with the wave of a claw, in reality, the entire occurrence left him traumatized. After managing to absorb some of the rubble from the now-demolished Galactic Nova, the unconscious body of Marx became surrounded by a dark energy and transformed into the animalistic Marx Soul, amplifying his already powerful attacks. If Marx is near-death or even infuriated, he is capable of tapping into whatever remaining life force he has in order to convert to this final form. Now, Marx is able to split himself into energy blasts, each colored a light blue and pink, and can even melt down into a mass of a paint-like substance and scatter bits of himself everywhere before reforming. Marx Soul sees no reason as to why this may be considered odd. After all, the only things that flash through his Soul’s mind during battle are “destroy”, “conquer”, and “kill”. He has only used his Soul Form once before, and has difficulty handling and controlling this power.
Weaknesses:
Marx is, overall, very physically weak. His only forms of self-defense before Milky Way Wishes were his fangs and his sharp mind, and even those weren’t always enough to protect him from harm. The simple reality of being born without arms and growing up without anyone there for him comes with a good deal of negative side effects. He can be recklessly impulsive, tending to jump right into action without giving the situation at hand much forethought. He has a tendency to lose his temper under stress and certain circumstances, and he can be pretty proud. He has a tendency to snap if someone insults him, his skills, or his wings. In fact, you may want to start praying for anyone who scoffs at his wings. Marx also seems to have a..
weakness for Magolor, so to speak. He’s certainly not known for being the more trustworthy of people out there, but he wouldn’t abandon a cause he was loyal to
unless a more appealing alternative popped up. Marx is also known for being spiteful and for holding grudges, as well as the fact that he’s.. not that mentally stable. And most importantly, Marx has aquaphobia, and couldn’t swim if it would save his life. As a result of him being physically unable to swim, he has had a strong fear of water due to almost drowning multiple times at a young age, and so he does whatever he can in order to avoid water. He has refused to get onto boats, and won’t even fly over water for too long. To Marx, water means death. And that on its own is saying a great deal.
