He's generally reserved, but polite and helpful to those in need. Calm and insightful, he has had some success in quelling volatile situations. When someone really crosses the line however, a switch is flipped, causing him to go into an unbridled rage and rain down divine wrath on the aggressor. While he does his best to retain a dignified persona, Relic has moments of weakness. Besides his fits of rage he's prone to gambling, something that has gotten him into trouble recently. He's built up quite a lot of debt during his stays at various settlements and his debtors are getting antsy. It's become such a problem that he doesn't dare go near some of the clans he used to be welcome at. He realises he needs to do something soon, as he can't avoid paying up forever: his debtors have let him known they won't allow him to. Relic keeps to a strict regiment of training in order to stay in shape. He likes to fight for sport and will occasionally join a casual competition. The pearlcatcher has devoted his life to serving the Eleven and preaching their teachings to those who'll hear them. He believes the old tales of the deities contain profound lessons over how dragons can live their lives best. As a Shadow dragon he's fond of playing games, he always carries a pack of cards with him. He'll explain how games help keep one's mind sharp, but he really just thinks that they're fun. If Relic so much as hears of a rumour regarding the Shade, he's quick to investigate. He considers it his divine duty to obliterate any remnants of the ancient horror. Physical/Magical Abilities: Relic's claws are hardened by the opaline patches that cover his skin. Being punched by him is like being punched by a statue. He's good in a fistfight, but when he's physically outmatched he can channel Shadow magic through his body to give his attacks an edge. The opal on his body will glow purple when he does this and a struck opponent will feel momentarily foggy. Channeling magic costs him energy, he can only keep it up for a couple of minutes before he needs to rest and recharge. Skills: insight (Relic is a decent judge of character, having seen all sorts during his travels), council (he considers it one of his duties as a priest to listen to other people's problems and advice them), Shadow resistance. Beastly Form Appearance: tall, fairly muscular. Has a rough looking face with a short beard/sideburns and a kind of mohawk under the hat he wears (similar in shape to the mane of a zebra) that runs all the way down his back. PC ears, hands/feet and tail, no horns. Outfit is mostly the same. Size: equivalent of dragon form Working on an image
-----
Character Name: Faris Gender/pronouns: Trans male, he/him Relative Age: Mid to late thirties Breed/Flight: Ridgeback/Wind Flight Scry and/or Link: Size: Medium Ridgeback Bio: Faris is a bounty hunter and hired muscle who, in the last few years, has risen quickly in fame for his ways. He’s known to have run with some of the Wasteland’s most decorated lords, criminals, and racers. And for good reason; He possesses an undeniable charm in conversation and a knack for card tricks. His wit, combined with his skill, have gotten him a healthy dose of attention-- or perhaps too much of it, depending on who you ask. Most of the time he’s laid-back and adventurous, perhaps even a little flirtatious. The man is not without his flaws, however. He quickly becomes cross when people are a little too friendly-- trying to touch him, getting into his belongings or trying to mooch a drink or two off of him. Speaking of drinks, Faris has a bit of an issue with drinking. Not necessarily that he’s belligerent or loud... just that he drinks more often than he should. Faris is rather aloof; he’d rather avoid letting people get to know him. Faris came to the wastes years ago, from a city on the plateau where he was born and raised. He arrived an outlaw, having fled his former home in haste. Since then he’s made somewhat of a name for himself; he seems as if he’s lived in the Wastelands since birth. Physical/Magical Abilities: He’s a brilliant shot with a pistol, but what comes out of that pistol isn’t usually bullets. Oftentimes Faris employs the use of his magical reserves in the place of bullets. “No sense in wasting money on ammo when I’ve got my own,” He’d say of the matter. He’s also been known to use his magic for defense, summoning a powerful gust to keep his opponents from getting too close or to influence the trajectory of an incoming blade. Skills: Wind Magic- Faris has the ability to manipulate the magic he obtained from his birthplace, from a simple rush of air to compressing his witchery into ammunition. Charm- Humor, wit, and enticement are all traits Faris has learned to weaponize. Many-a-time he’s sweet-talked his way out of trouble and right into more of it. Sleight of hand- Educating himself in simple little card tricks has taught him a little bit about the element of trickery to use in sticky situations. Beastly Form Appearance: Tall, a bit angular. His skin is about the same tones as it is in his draconic form (including the opal). He retains his horns and tail in this form, as well as the draconic legs. He sports a head of fluffy, tawny waves that falls to his biceps. His clothes are well-loved, and his arms are protected by armor up to the shoulders (as per usual). He carries two pistols on his hips. A bit of light stubble gathers about his chin. His lips curl in a way that seems to give him a faint, perpetual smile. Size: about the same
-----
Character Name: Raleigh Gender/pronouns: Trans man, he/him Relative Age: ‘bout 28 Breed/Flight: Nocturne / Light Scry and/or Link: Size: Small Nocturne Bio: Raleigh’s not sure where he came from. His eyes tell him somewhere in the Sunbeam Ruins, but he has no particular attachment to the area. He favors the Wasteland— he feels like he blends in more there— but he often finds himself in the Starfall Isles. His earliest memories take place in the Shifting Expanse, but he hasn’t been back there in a while. He despises the cold and so avoids the Southern Icefield. He tends to be a bit of a flirt. His path through Sornieth was, in the shortest terms, Ruins > Expanse > Ashfall > Plateau > Wasteland > Isles > Wasteland, and he's left a string of broken hearts and hurt feelings behind him. Raleigh's sharp tongue also tends to get him into trouble with the wrong people. He has a terminal case of foot-in-mouth disease, and even he can't slide out of some situations. Raleigh has a suspicion that his past is going to come back to bite him someday, and his short-term solution is to just keep moving. He doesn't often think ahead. Raleigh doesn’t know his biological parents and doesn’t really care. He was mostly raised by himself and the occasional drifter. He’s picked up all sorts of manipulation tactics and is very good at getting things out of people through methods that aren’t technically "wrong". He’s nearly musically inclined: he learned a few instruments informally for busking purposes but can’t read sheet music (and can’t sing worth a damn either). He can also cook, but only if it's greasy and egregiously unhealthy. Currently, Raleigh’s on the job hunt— he lost his last job for “something stupid” that he won’t talk about, and is getting more desperate than usual. Physical/Magical Abilities: Raleigh doesn’t use magic. Or weapons, really. He’s not much of a fighter— his body type is best for getting tossed around like a little sack of potatoes. If provoked or required, he tends to go for blunt weapons because he has to think less. Many of his travels were accompanied by a heavy stick filled with nails (unfortunately lost after he dropped it into the Sea of a Thousand Currents). He has absolutely no formal training, but can be pretty good at wriggling away from tough situations. Skills Manipulation - Raleigh can schmooze, kiss up, and lie like there’s no tomorrow. He is excellent with people, and can work them like warm clay. It doesn’t really occur to him that this isn’t very nice because he never learned to prioritize anyone who isn’t himself. Manipulation is a fact of interaction for him, just as straightforward as asking someone about their day. Storytelling - Raleigh's had a lot of life experiences for his age, and his favorite thing to do is spin those experiences into stories. The more bizarre or borderline-traumatic the better (c'mon, it's processing!). He is not even remotely a private person, and that boy loves him an audience. He's most comfortable surrounded by strangers who are hanging onto his every word. It's unusual for him to keep things close to the chest. Speedy & Slippery - Being that he’s not very physically strong, Raleigh makes up for that in being Very Good At Escaping. Trying to hold on to Raleigh is a bit like trying to hold a stray cat that’s completely covered in canola oil. Beastly Form Appearance: Stocky, pudgy li'l guy with a square jaw and an upturned nose. No wings, tail or horns (except for the largest two) but he keeps his pinstripe patterns. Pointy little goblin ears. Wavy, metallic-red hair in a style one might describe as a "mullhawk" that goes just halfway down his neck. Terrible patchy facial hair. Still has 3-fingered nocturne hands, for some reason. Size: Still small
-----
Character Name: Pibb Falaz Gender/pronouns: Cis woman, she/her but definitely not opposed to 'they' Relative Age: late 20s. Breed/Flight: Light Ridgeback Scry and/or Link: Size: Large Ridgeback. (smaller end of large, but bigger than the largest Guardians) Bio: Pibb is a large, loud, and vibrant dragon - she can't easily be missed, and she likes it that way. Having come from a well-off family in the Mirrorlight Promenade, she never shied away from flaunting her expensive toys and trendy clothing to her peers as a child, and she prides herself on being able to shout over everyone else. Always one to follow her whims, she seeks out excitement wherever she thinks it may be. She wouldn't call herself a gambler, but she sure enjoys taking risks and is swayed by hype very easily. Though Pibb's parents spoiled her very much, they were very health-conscious and denied her the sugary treats her friends got to enjoy. Pibb was particularly interested in soda, and so desperately yearned for the saccharine liquid that the Lightweaver must have taken pity on her and when Pibb was about 10 years old, she discovered she had the ability to make soda appear out of thin air. She hid this power from her parents who remained none-the-wiser, and eventually, craving independence, Pibb left the Sunbeam Ruins for good, taking with her a large sum of money. With the freedom of being on her own, Pibb lived life to the fullest, seeking out any thrills she could find and never denying herself any indulgences she wanted. Consequently, she depleted her resources far faster than she could ever dare to admit to her parents. In an attempt to keep her exuberant lifestyle afloat, she's started taking questionable odd jobs. The higher the reward, the better. Though she's a decently competent individual, the fact she'd never needed to work a day in her life prior really shows at times. (Not sure if this RP is set before or after she ends up living in Florabrisa's swamp, but doing so is great money-saving lifehack either way :D) Pibb is very excitable and, certainly fueled by the exorbitant amount of soda she drinks, she has a boundless energy that carries through strange situations in stride. Though when she crashes, she goes down hard. She follows rules when it's convenient, but if she thinks her own idea is better, she's follows her gut - she was never one who liked to be tied down by others. Physical/Magical Abilities: Physically, she is quite chubby and has a lot of natural strength thanks to being a Ridgeback. Though she's far from the strongest Ridgeback, her inclination to walk rather than fly as well as her recent string of odd jobs involving manual labor have helped her increase her muscle mass. She's had no formal training in fighting, but she isn't afraid to make use of her bulk. She's incredibly out of practice, but in her teens, her parents signed up for Fencing Class. She doesn't really talk about it nor does she have a fencing sword anywhere in the vicinity. Pibb is fairly magical and eternally thankful to the Lightweaver for it. She has the ability to conjure 3 liters of any carbonated beverage into a container of her choice, about once an hour. She can also put up light shields, but they'll dissipate with too much damage. Skills: Shout!: Pibb has learned to weaponize her loud voice - when giving it her all, she can shout so loud that she can be heard from well over a mile away, and anyone too close to her will be temporarily deafened (including herself if she doesn't plug her ears!). Voice throw: Pibb can throw her voice up to several yards away. She cannot combine this with Shout!. Beastly Form Appearance: Tall, chubby, backed with some muscle. She has dark skin and thick, curly chin-length pink hair that she keeps in a playful updo. She retains her unicorn horn in beastly form. She likes to wear bright clothing, especially cyan and pink. When she puts on makeup, it's usually glittery. She has a bit of Arcane aesthetic going! ...I made her as a sim haha also doodled full body refs for her draconic form! She hasn't said it either, so, Pitch it is. She thrives in remote places, burrowing in and out of the ground, sometimes setting things on fire, with something that..... sticks to the surfaces. You see, the dark liquid in her capsule abdomen is petroleum. Pitch has studied and utilized the substance, making it as part of her identity. Pitch is rarely, if ever, considerate of other's feelings, opting out for blunt opinion than an evasive veil. For better or worse. Due to her near constant life in solitude, she may not pick up the nuances of cultures or etiquette straight away. That also means she'll be cracking up even at the cheapest entertainment in the populated vicinity. Overall, she's just a dragon that lives by her own rhythm, not minding folks that can assist her in some form or just chill on their own, or scorching those that get in her way. Physical/Magical Abilities:

Physical - Pitch has a keen sense of smell, aiding in her search of fossil fuel feposits. She's also an excellent burrower, yielding a great stamina and endurance to pressure in order to reach the pockets. While she's got no fighting expertise, she can hold her own in street fights, at times striking with rough improvised weapons [s]that may or may not contain burning tar or fuel.[/s]
Magical - There's not much to say here, she can spew more concentrated fire, as well as combine it in some form with the tar and gas she carries.
Skills:

Petroleum Expert - From locating the fossil fuel deposits with near perfect precision, to utilizing and processing it to what she desires- this is Pitch's forte that adds another layer of danger for her firepower. She knows how to safely create an opening in the pocket to extract the petroleum (as well as any trapped gas in said pocket) in her capsule and how to seal it for later extraction.
Inventive for her Interests - As it would come with her decisions and activities, she is particularly crafty and capable of creating rough gizmos and items......as long as it fits in her niche and that'd benefit her. Any other way she'll just end up at a mental wall.
Fire Potency - As a child of Flamecaller, Pitch yields a natural resistance to fire. And because her scale/skin is seeped with oil, she can combine them to make herself a walking torch. (Same resistance can't be said of her clothes, unfortunately. She's working on a solution, though, to avoid dropping her apparel whenever she wants to go torch).
Beastly Form Appearance: Lean and muscular. Awfully greasy, making one assume she has never been in or let alone seen a bath. Has a hair bun that hairdressers would take it as their ultimate test of endurance just to make it clean and presentable. Only yields her tail and claws in her beastly form. Due to her constant tar use and collection, Pitch's teeth have a dirty yellow color, with her lower jaw's set, including tongue and tissue, even going black-ish.

Beastly Form

Appearance: tall, fairly muscular. Has a rough looking face with a short beard/sideburns and a kind of mohawk under the hat he wears (similar in shape to the mane of a zebra) that runs all the way down his back. PC ears, hands/feet and tail, no horns. Outfit is mostly the same.
Size: equivalent of dragon form

Gender/pronouns: Trans male, he/him
Relative Age: Mid to late thirties
Breed/Flight: Ridgeback/Wind Flight
Scry and/or Link:
58741041_350.png

Size: Medium Ridgeback
Bio: Faris is a bounty hunter and hired muscle who, in the last few years, has risen quickly in fame for his ways.
Beastly Form
Appearance: Tall, a bit angular.

Character Name: Raleigh

Gender/pronouns: Trans man, he/him

Relative Age: ‘bout 28

Breed/Flight: Nocturne / Light

Scry and/or Link:
B1WEpLl.png

Size: Small Nocturne

Bio: Raleigh’s not sure where he came from.

Skills
Manipulation - Raleigh can schmooze, kiss up, and lie like there’s no tomorrow.

Beastly Form
Appearance: Stocky, pudgy li'l guy with a square jaw and an upturned nose.

Character Name: Pibb Falaz
Gender/pronouns: Cis woman, she/her but definitely not opposed to 'they'
Relative Age: late 20s.
Breed/Flight: Light Ridgeback
Scry and/or Link:
48426389_350.png

Size: Large Ridgeback. (smaller end of large, but bigger than the largest Guardians)
Bio:
Pibb is a large, loud, and vibrant dragon - she can't easily be missed, and she likes it that way.

(Not sure if this RP is set before or after she ends up living in Florabrisa's swamp, but doing so is great money-saving lifehack either way :D)

Pibb is very excitable and, certainly fueled by the exorbitant amount of soda she drinks, she has a boundless energy that carries through strange situations in stride. Though when she crashes, she goes down hard. She follows rules when it's convenient, but if she thinks her own idea is better, she's follows her gut - she was never one who liked to be tied down by others.

Physical/Magical Abilities:

Physically, she is quite chubby and has a lot of natural strength thanks to being a Ridgeback.

Voice throw
: Pibb can throw her voice up to several yards away. She cannot combine this with Shout!.
Beastly Form
Appearance: Tall, chubby, backed with some muscle. She has dark skin and thick, curly chin-length pink hair that she keeps in a playful updo. She retains her unicorn horn in beastly form. She likes to wear bright clothing, especially cyan and pink. When she puts on makeup, it's usually glittery. She has a bit of Arcane aesthetic going!
...I made her as a sim haha

also doodled full body refs for her draconic form!

Size: Medium RB
Bio: Dragons only know that she's been called Pitch by other dragons because of her interest, none have heard her real name.
  • Physical - Pitch has a keen sense of smell, aiding in her search of fossil fuel feposits. She's also an excellent burrower, yielding a great stamina and endurance to pressure in order to reach the pockets. While she's got no fighting expertise, she can hold her own in street fights, at times striking with rough improvised weapons that may or may not contain burning tar or fuel.
  • Magical - There's not much to say here, she can spew more concentrated fire, as well as combine it in some form with the tar and gas she carries.
Skills:
  • Petroleum Expert - From locating the fossil fuel deposits with near perfect precision, to utilizing and processing it to what she desires- this is Pitch's forte that adds another layer of danger for her firepower. She knows how to safely create an opening in the pocket to extract the petroleum (as well as any trapped gas in said pocket) in her capsule and how to seal it for later extraction.
  • Inventive for her Interests - As it would come with her decisions and activities, she is particularly crafty and capable of creating rough gizmos and items......as long as it fits in her niche and that'd benefit her. Any other way she'll just end up at a mental wall.
  • Fire Potency - As a child of Flamecaller, Pitch yields a natural resistance to fire. And because her scale/skin is seeped with oil, she can combine them to make herself a walking torch. (Same resistance can't be said of her clothes, unfortunately. She's working on a solution, though, to avoid dropping her apparel whenever she wants to go torch).
Beastly Form
Appearance: Lean and muscular.

Rough sketch that I hope to digitalize in the near future (Don't mind the different name, I scrolled her a new one after I took the pic)

And now it's all set! @Ophionyx @philodendron @Haring @pheelthemoment @MissFrills Hello all! I've officially compiled all the character sheets and made a tidy reference section, which means the OOC thread is up and running! Like I said before, this is where ALL out of character conversation will occur, and it's recommended you ping someone if you want to ask them something or discuss something with them. I'll be subbed, but pinging is alright by me [emoji=guardian happy size=1] Once stuff gets going, any talk about the plot or commenting on posts is welcome! If you want to add or edit something on your character sheet before the RP starts, just edit it in the interest check thread, and then tell me here so I can put the new version in. Before and once the rp starts, you can fix typos, add art, etc. as you like, but I'd prefer you ask me first about changing or adding things like skills once we're going.
