Reathan opened his eyes and found himself standing on the precipice of a flowering garden path, leading to a rather rustic little cottage. For a moment, he stood there in disbelief; just a moment ago, he’d been running from his latest hunt, a wicked beast that was close to nicking him with its tusks. Now... he wasn’t sure where he was. But when he turned around, thick wood surrounded the little clearing he seemed to be in, and there was no sign of the creature. Might as well have a good look around, he supposed.

BirdCookies // Nope! But that doesn’t mean FR dragons can’t be used! Basically, the setting is a small pocket dimension where multiple realities meet. People happen to stumble upon it when they’re in search of a peaceful place to rest, or if they’re running from conflict or danger!

(i see, thank you!)
A dragon, not particularly large, stumbled into the clearing. She was blue, and at first glance you might mistake her for a bird. She had a thin, cyan beak, and many feathers poking out from her dark robe and vestments, as if trying to escape. At her hip dangled a book, a bag, and relatively jar filled with.. goo? She looked tired. Her eyelids sagged, but then shot open as she noticed something..
There wasn't a lot, but there was a little sage growing here! Atleast, that stuff
LOOKS like sage. To the skydancer, this was a blessing, as the merchants she normally had to buy it from tended to overprice. She set upon the herbs, crouching near them and openning her bag, about to harvest some..
But there was a strange energy here. It wasn't in the ground like the elemental territories. It was in the air. It was everywhere.
This was not a place to be trifled with.
She felt a shiver down her spine, and quickly closed her bag and stood.
She finally took a look around.
One terrifying thought came to mind.
Who is that?

Reathan was crouched by a small fountain, letting the water run over his hands. Something about this place was... so relaxing. Almost like a zen garden, like the one found back at the palace, or in the center of town back home. He flicked his tail under the water to clean off the dirt (he really had to address his habit of dragging his tail along the ground...) and then stood and brushed his clothing off.
A soft rustling behind him caught his attention. He turned... and saw a blue, bird-like dragon standing right behind him. He jumped backwards, drawing his sword and swinging it rather haphazardly between himself and the creature. It was strange- he’d never seen a dragon like this before, never mind one that was wearing
clothes like a person would. If anything, it looked just as shocked as he felt to find something else there in the garden. Reathan cleared his throat. God, he was going to feel ridiculous.
“So... are you dangerous?”

This had caught her offguard. The skydancer looked at him, beak agape.
"You..! You're waving a SWORD at me, and yet ask me if I'M the dangerous one?"
Her voice and ability to articulate words was surprisingly clear, given she didn't have lips.
She looked almost upset, but then quickly defaulted to laughter, which sounded strange and beast-like compared to her voice.
"What even ARE you? You look like.. Maren, but with legs? or, maybe a Harpy without feathers? I've never heard a beastclan member speak such fluent draconian, though.."
Her head was tilted, her eyes filled with curiousity.

Reathan flinched at the sound of the dragon’s voice- it could speak?! And fluently, to— maybe it was taught and raised by one of the humanoid races? His mind snapped back to attention at all the questions she seemed to be asking him. Never taking his eyes off of her, he lowered his sword, but didn’t sheath it.
“What am
I?” he scoffed in disbelief. “I’m a
Musjinn- and I’m not speaking draconian,
you’re speaking
common-” He paused for a moment, his brows furrowed in thought. “Or maybe not... this place feels like it’s got a pretty powerful magic presence... you feel it too, right?” He tapped his foot on the ground as he spoke.
“Maybe we can both understand each other, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’re speaking the same language- there could just be a spell put on the area tha5 translates our words.” He shook his head. “Or I’m crazy- I’m talking to a dragon, I’m in a weird garden- I could be dead. That creature gutted me, for all I know!” Reathan threw his arms up in exasperation, nearly letting go of his sword as he raised it over his head. “Who knows! I sure don’t!”

"Amazing. I did not know magic this potent even existed.."
As she was looking off in thought, awe and wonder in her eyes, the mason jar tied to her hip started shaking. Now that you can get a closer look, there's a label that reads
Benji. The skydancer looks down at the jar, and then at Reathan. "I'm sorry, I, ah.. please give me a moment.."
She scurried off a little ways out of view.
You can hear her talking.. and someone responding?
What was in that jar?

Reathan gave her a quizzical look as she scampered off with her jar, then sighed and sheathed his sword. If she wasn’t going to attack him, there was really no need to be holding it still, was there? He looked around him again, taking in the calming feel of the garden. More than anything, he wanted to go into the cottage; whoever lived there might be able to explain what the hell was going on. But he heard a conversation going on from where the dragon had disappeared off too... and he never saw another person or creature with her.
“Who are you talking to?” he asked, creeping a bit closer to her, but still wary enough to keep a good distance between them. “Is that... is that a jar? What
is that stuff? It looks... well, it looks pretty gross, if I’m being honest.” Rather quickly, he added, “I don’t mean, to offend you, though!”
