Empty.
That's what it felt like, at least. The surface of the floor was cold and hard and dark, the only light being emanated from Vega herself, by means she had no control over. She lifted her gaze to an opening at the end of the area - one pure white in contrast to the suffocating darkness of this one. Holding her breath, she let her eyes adjust to the dark around her and noticed a figure on the floor nearby from where she'd gotten to her own feet, lit by the same light that shone on her, she realized.
She wasn't alone, apparently. Wary of the stranger, she kept her distance and waited for them to make a move.

Am I... glowing?
This, strangely enough, was the only thought to cross Ran's mind as she drifted to consciousness, white light dancing all around her. The next thing she noted was the cool touch of the stone beneath her, polished surface shining and bouncing with the mystery glow as she sat up slowly. A rush of vertigo was next to accompany the movement, but oddly enough it lacked the dizzy, sickening feeling but rather flowed, somehow, throughout Ran filling her with a fresh, singular energy. All around her was quiet.
She sat there, in the dark and silence for a moment before the sound of someone else reached her ears. Quickly, Ran stood and turned to face the stranger before stopping to better focus on them when she noticed they were surrounded by the same glow. "Hello?" She called, softly and uncertain, "Do you... know what is happening?"

Vega had yet to really process what was going on, stumbling backwards with a hand pressed against her head, ruffling the short, curly hair that framed it. She caught herself before she could fully lose her balance, yet the drastic change in environment was still enough to make her head spin. She'd say she felt sick, but sick wasn't the right word to use. She couldn't even call it nausea.
She wasn't very good with words, she realized.
"I... don't know. I don't know," she whispered. "What is this place? Who are you? Why do.. why do I feel..?"
Vega turned around, getting a glimpse of the scenery behind her, before whirling around to face the stranger.
"This isn't.. no, this.. what? What..? What is this?"
She wasn't very good with words, she realized.

"I'm Ran, but -" Ran answers in a haze of confusion, beginning to echo the stranger's panic. "I don't know why I'm here, why you're here what this place is..." She began to notice tears gathering in her eyes and tries her best to keep her composure. She couldn't break down again, especially not here! "Um, is there any path or something similar...?" Ran just managed to say, her voice choked with uncertainty.

Vega took a few deep breaths, gesturing towards the door of white ahead. "No, no path. I see a door, a door but no path."
She rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly, attempting to calm her shaking hands, before meeting the gaze of the person standing before her and extending a hand in greeting.
"If we're in this together, I-I suppose we should know each other by name. I'm Vega."

"Ran. It's nice to meet you," She said to Vega, taking the hand to shake and beginning to calm down now that there was a clear way out. Next, she hesitantly made her way towards the door, placing a hand on the doorknob and turning it.
To Ran's relief it opened easily, but the dark room was flooded with a cacophony of color, light, and sound as it gave way to whatever was on the other side. When everything faded into a scene the two could make sense of, the black room was gone and they stood in the middle of... a forest? A garden? Somewhere in between? The white glow around Ran and Vega had been replaced, too, with a different aura of color for each.
"O-ok, then, so doors don't work the way the usually do here." Ran announces, trying to quell a second wave of panic. This place was weird, unnatural even. But she could always find a solution if she learned enough, right? Surely even a place like this had rules it followed?
