Cherry Blossoms
Welcome to the large medieval styled kingdom of Sakura where magic is dwindling, mythical creatures are disappearing, and no one is quite sure of the reason. You are determined to discover why along with other willing teenagers in hopes of restoring magic.
Hierarchy
The world of Sakura is ruled by a single emperor named Toshio Sato but in each section of the kingdom are different governors who have some power over that area and govern on behalf of the emperor.The majority of the public likes the emperor because he is a relatively kind individual however many do not like the governors and think that they are greedy and sinister. One in particular is named Kenji Tanaka who oversees the Bamboo Isles with a iron fist and a cruel demeanor.
Traditions and Culture
The culture of Sakura resembles Japan in many ways including the way they dress, eat, and their architecture. Beautifully styled kimonos in all sorts of different colors are the common style in Sakura. A popular meal is meats companied with rice and vegetable they also eat fish quite often.One of the traditions in Sakura is to plant a Cherry Blossom in one’s backyard and to take careful care of it. Another tradition is once a year on the night of the full moon the whole kingdom celebrates magic and the mythical creature that reside in the world, special foods and trinkets are sold on this day especially in the capital.
Locations
Cherry Fields
The Cherry Fields is the capital of Sakura where the majority of the population lives. Beautiful lakes weave through the city with red bridges and wooden boats that take people throughout it. The capital is mainly known for its gorgeous architecture and Cherry Blossoms that grow everywhere. Cherry Blossoms are seen as a symbol of beauty and peace revered by everyone and believed to have magical abilities. No governor rules over the capital.
The Palace
The Palace is located just outside the capital, it is vast and grand surrounded by a large wall. It is filled with beautiful gardens, a pristine school for the royals and nobles, and housing for servants and their families. The palace itself is beautifully decorated filled with art tapestries that hang from the walls everywhere you go. The furniture is carefully hand crafted and is its own work of art. While most nobles live in the capital some live within The Palace walls and grow up along side the royal family.
Bamboo Isles
A rural fishing village by the ocean that helps to boost most of the kingdom’s economy. People who live here almost definitely make a living by fishing and while aren’t typically the richest live comfortably. One of the few magical creatures left, called the Akarui lives in the waters there. The only thing keeping the beautiful bamboo filled place from being near perfect is the governor who keeps the taxes high and has a sinister attitude.
Growing Gardens
The Growing Gardens is one of the largest locations in the kingdom and is almost completely untouched besides small farming villages that are scattered all over the place. Hundreds of different plants grow here and thrive. Beautiful mountains and waterfalls seem to reach to the sky and people say they occasionally see dragons although no one has enough evidence to prove they actually did. Most people who live here struggle to get by but always have enough money to put food on the table. The governor isn’t liked but is tolerated.
Sky Mountain Range
Very few people live here and those who do struggle to survive as wandering nomads. Despite no one living here people from all over the kingdom come to the mines in hopes of making a vast profit and temporarily live in mining camps. Vast caves are all over the mountains but they are far too dangerous for exploration. The governor pays not attention to the wandering nomads and only focuses on the mining camps.
Economy
The money of the world is a medium sized leaf shaped token with a image of the emperor. How much the money is worth is shown off in color, the least amount being a copper color, next amount is silver, and the highest is gold. The social classes are very common. Nobles being the richest common folk, followed by the middle class, than the lower class.
Mythical Creatures
While your typical mythical creatures like dragons, unicorns, griffins, etc. exist in this world a few other creatures that are unique to the kingdom of Sakura also reside here.
Akarui
This whale sized koi like creature now only lives in the oceans by the Bamboo Isles. These creatures have control over water but unfortunately do indeed have the brain of your average fish. Many have tried to fish them in the past but because of their control over water it is incredibly deadly and near impossible.
Haruto
The Haruto are a dog like creature that have large bat wings stretching up from their back. These are the only mythical creature left that is common place and even sold as your average pet. Harutos come in different breeds much like regular dogs with abilities ranging from fire control to water manipulation. Unlike the Akarui they are very smart and are believed to be almost as intelligent as people.
Akiha
Akiha appear as what looks like a cross between a cat and a fox. With three cat like tails and body but the face of a fox they are truly a odd looking creature. Along with that they have crystals sprouting all over their body, the colors depend on the Akiha but they can range from blues and greens to pinks and purples. They have infinite wisdom and are known as cave guides however they are incredibly rare and only live in caves around the mountains.
Chikara
The Chikara are a interesting species and were viewed as pests when they were plentiful in numbers. Their appearance looks as if you combined a bird and a monkey together, instead of forearms they have wings but their hind legs look like regular monkey legs. They have a face of a monkey but a beak instead of a regular mouth, and to top it all off they have a long colorful tail that trails behind them. Chikara are creatures of trickery and are very clever, no one is quite sure where they all went, one day they simply vanished as if they never even existed.
