Yeah, I’m not huge on role playing with dragons, either. I’ve never read the Darkest Minds (but I have heard of it), but based on your summary it sounds really cool! We could do one loosely based off of those books, sense it leaves a lot of fun options. I’m a sucker for superpowers, so I really like that idea!

Same over here, I love superpowers and sci-fi!
I wouldn't even use characters from the book, just something similar to a disease or some freak accident that gives them their powers.
As far as setting, we could do it set in the future or past, I'm fine with anything.
Once we get that sorted I'll make a character :)

Hmm, maybe we could do it in the future? Like, not totally high-tech, but a little more advanced? I think the idea of a disease is really cool, like you’re not sure if it’ll kill you or give you superpowers ^^
I’ll start working on my character :)

Name: Daffodil Day Lewis
Age: 18
Pronouns: She/they (she identifies as female, but doesn’t have an issue with going with neutral pronouns when in different bodies)
Sexuality: Panromantic Demisexual
Power: “Body-snatcher;” she can adopt the form of another person at will (but not their powers, hypothetically. Like, if they’re really fit, she’d probably be more athletic, but if they have a power she doesn’t automatically get that). She replaces their feature that she’s taking with her own. She has to be able to see them and know the basic appearance of any given feature she wants in order to replace her own. For example, if she wants someone’s eyes, she needs to have a pretty good idea of what they look like. It’s very draining for her to do, and the larger the thing she wants to change the harder and more painful it is. It also tends to backfire; if she sees someone and likes their body, she can exchange her’s for their’s, but she’ll also get whatever pre-existing health conditions they had. If they had cancer, she gets cancer, until she passes it off for someone else’s body. (Note: she can’t do this for animals. It only works for other humans).
Appearance: Obviously it changes a lot, but usually she has subtle skin-tone discrepancies. It’s hard to gauge someone’s skin-tone before switching, so sometimes there will be parts of her body that are slightly paler or darker than other parts. All and all, she has relatively light olive-toned skin. The “type” she usually chooses as her appearance is variations on: tallish, a bit androgynous but leaning toward feminine, dynamic eyebrows (they always give away her emotions even when she’s trying to hide them), and slightly wavy blonde hair that goes to her chin. She’s almost always dressed “eccentrically formal,” with a weakness for patterned button-downs and colored blazers (green, red, yellow, purple).

(made on picrew)
Personality: Pretty extroverted. Has an “everything will work out for me” attitude, not because of arrogance but because she genuinely finds unexpected occurrences entertaining. If things go horribly wrong, she’ll think, “at least I went out with a bang.” She’s quite curious, but is more the type to point out flaws in a belief system then actively seek answers. She uses humor as a coping mechanism and will tell jokes at inappropriate times. She longs for love, but has had bad experiences in the past that discourage her about her ability to be loved. She is highly insecure despite her appearance edits, or possibly because of them, even though she hardly ever shows it.
“Fun” Facts: She gets sick a lot from switching out bodies, since her immune system has trouble keeping up with the rapid changes and germs brought by the changes. She loves gas masks and knives, for some reason. She really likes hugs. She has a random and weird phobia of having her mind read. She loves singing, and will randomly burst into song. When THE DISEASE rolled around, she actively tried to get sick because she wanted powers, and because her brain is physically incapable of considering death seriously. She knows that eventually she’ll die, but it hasn’t ever really sunk in. She gets growing pains a lot because of her bones constantly remolding to adapt with a new form.
Hope this works! I might edit it later as I think of more stuff.

Here's my character!
Name: Alexander (Alex) Fallon
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Never bothered to find out
Appearance: Auburn hair that falls to his shoulders, Alex has mismatched eyes, his left eye being a pale, frosty blue and his right eye being a molten amber color. Over his right eye, he has a scar. He never talks about how he got the scar as he doesn't trust people with the story. He has sharp, elfish features. He's fairly tall, around six foot three, and is built like an athlete.
Personality: Alexander is quiet and clever. He normally only speaks when spoken to and doesn't like to draw attention to himself. He's hard to read, his expression usually remaining stone cold, but he is very good at reading others. Alexander might come off as cold and freaky, but he can be really nice and easygoing and laid back once you get to know him.
He is self-conscious because of his scar–he thinks it makes him look scary in a bad way. He is very loyal and can be indecisive if one of his friends is in danger and he has to make a choice.
Superpower: Matter manipulation/Telekinesis. Pretty self-explanatory, Alex can move things with his mind and pull inanimate apart and reform them again in another spot as long as it isn't over a mile's distance. He's not too great at controlling his abilities and they can be triggered by emotions and can get out of control in general so he doesn't use them that often as he is afraid of hurting someone.

((Hellooooo, I’m back. Do you wanna start now?))
Daffodil sipped her hot chocolate cautiously to avoid burning her tongue. She was in the outdoor seating area of the café, idly watching as people walked by. Her fingers tapped on the cardboard cup, where the name “Vivienne” was written. She enjoyed giving the baristas the wrong name. Victimless crime and whatnot. Not that she considered it a crime, but she had heard it before and liked how it sounded.
Her taffy yellow blazer was slung on the back of the chair behind her, and her uncharacteristically plain button-down was rolled up at the sleeves. It was Friday, her favorite day of the week, and she was in the mood for a little fun.

((Hi! Sorry I just saw this ><))
Alexander floored the gas pedal of the old SUV as he swerved onto the highway. Skiptracers... Right behind him. Cursing, he drove off the highway and into the forest lining the lake.
He spotted the cafe across the lake. That might be a good place to hide out...
Alex parked the SUV in the trees and started towards the cafe, staying hidden and ducking behind trees.
