He'd long ago abandoned his shovel for his massive front paws. However he'd still pull his pickaxe if he ran into heavy piles of rock. He paused and looked back through the tunnel he'd created. "Basil will you hurry up?" He shivered. "The least you can do is hold the lantern right if you aren't gonna help me dig." Basil grunted, the spiral coiled tightly around him only strengthening her grip. "I would, but I'm sort of being strangled," he complained, his voice breathless. Breeze caught the lantern with her tail and held it higher so Terra could see. A sound behind them made all three dragons whirl, ready to pick a fight if need be. "What are you doing out here?" "I heard you guys were coming out here to dig, you didn't think I'd let you do it without a competent traveler," she smiled fondly. "I resent that," Basil muttered. Terra rolled his eyes as he shoved some more dirt aside. "Whoa!" He cried out as it opened up into a much larger, darker tunnel. All three of his companions tumbled inside after him. "Great," he muttered, looking up at the tunnel through which they'd fallen. "Now where are we?"

@HappyAccidents (No worries! Almost blending in, Kali stepped into dim light lantern light; bright eyes of the Lightweaver glowering as they rolled. "Harr. Harr. I didn't realize you were such a damn comedian, Kali. Wow. Maybe I'll just let you deal with them and hope they eat your sorry--" Finally the third individual offered his two cents into the conversation as he stepped around the bickering pair. "Please... (I am!)

Terra coughed and shook his head, dust flying off his heavy mane. He answered without thinking much who he was replying to. "I'm alright. Basil? Kya? Breeze, are you okay?"

Basil's groan confirmed that he was indeed fine. Breeze shook her head to clear it and perked up, eyes darting between the strangers. Kya had also risen and was watching them carefully.

"Who are you?" Breeze's tone, as always was childlike and excitable.

Kya pressed her way to the front of the group and dipped her head respectfully. To Breeze, she murmured. "Don't be rude, this isn't our territory, Breeze. It's only natural we run into some other dragons. My name is Kya. May I ask your names?"

Kratos tilted his snout just slightly to the side, blinking once at the collective before him. His gaze settled eventually upon the pale Skydancer and her intimidating antlers--

She, at least, seemed to retain sense and pleasantries unnlike the two foaming idiots that immediately sought to flank Kratos to his left then right. Calypso's many eyes seemed almost unblinking as she gave each and every one of them a heavy once over whilst Kali seemed more content with a languid smirk on her features.

"You guys have a nice trip?" The golden beast snorts, head tilting upwards as she appraised the damage done to their tunnels.

"Kali--..." Exasperation immediately riddled Kratos' tone as he shoved her with his wing then turned back to properly address the group. "I'm Kratos. These two are Kali and Calypso, you'll have to forgive their... brash nature. They weren't raised with manners."

Well, that definitely sounded like a thinly veiled insult at his companions but only the multi-eyed one opted to pay heed to it with her teeth bore and a faint hiss.

"I have manners plenty but not for people who trespass. Who are you and why are you in our tunnels?" True to her chaotic namesake, Calypso seemed to rear her head and poof up with every attempt to intimidate much akin to a peacock flaring it's feathers out.

Kya remained at the front of the group, holding her wings out ever so slightly, protective. She was no combatant not by any means, but she stood ahead of her clanmates as if she could shield them if these dragons turned out to be threats.

When the golden banescale made her quip, all the Sky Runners were silent. Except Basil of course. He let out a guffaw of laughter at the word play, nudging Terra in the flank with his bony wing. "Nice trip," he repeated through his laughter. "That's a good one, I gotta use that."

"And you're sure you're older than me," Terra grumbled, shuffling away from Basil a bit.

"Forgive him, he's easily amused," Kya sent a warning look over her shoulder to silence both of them. "My name is Kya," she jerked her head back at the green skydancer. "That's Basil and his... sister," she looked to the spiral. "Breeze. And the big guy is Terra. I'll apologize in advance for any rude remarks on Basil's part."

"Thanks, Kya," Basil said sarcastically.

At the sharp question, Kya lifted her head. "We were on a digging expedition, we didn't intend to find any tunnels. We're sorry if we caused any damage, I'm sure Terra wouldn't mind filling it back in."

Terra nodded once but didn't say anything more.

There seemed to be a smirk that slowly formed on Kali's maw at the validation of, at minimum, one whole laugh garnered which suited her well enough to prove that she was comical. "I like them..." She coos quietly.

It was Calypso that offered a heavy roll of her foreward eyes and a sneer, "Well, that is of no surprise. You have the brains of a chicken."

Quiet remarks were passed over Kratos' back as the poor Banescale stood there with a look akin to having taken two toddlers to the supermarket and now had to deal with their constant bickering and their unending desire for candy.

"It is a pleasure to meet you all and despite what my companions may imply, there is no harm done. These tunnels are older than us, we merely call them home." The ichor stained Banescale murmured, peering at the hole then back to the group. "There is... no need for apologies. I am sure you are all well meaning."

Despite his words, there was a wariness as his gaze shifted over the Gaoler though it was fleeting for the moment as Kratos' throat clears and he faces Kya once again. "Would you like some help leaving? It is not safe this far out from the clan."

"Psh... Only if your a wuss." Calypso, oh so, helpfully contributed with a smirk. "It's only beastclans and the occasional stray... unless you believe the stories of a wraith living down here..."

"Oooh... Spoooky." Kali snapped at Calypso's horn, giving it a playful tug. "Ghosts...!"

Terra was keen enough to catch the weary gaze. He took an uncomfortable step back but didn't comment on the look. Instead, he turned his head up to admire the cavernous tunnels.

It was Kya again who decided to speak. "Thank you. Our digging teams don't usually venture out this far, but a few of them are... quite occupied at the moment," her green eyes darkened a bit. She appeared rather exhausted herself. "I've been chasing these three all morning, making sure they weren't getting into any trouble." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the sole cause of that exhaustion.

Her three companions seemed to pick up on how drained she was, because eyes turned to her with concern. Concern which she'd fully dismiss to them if they brought it up. Breeze had left Basil's side and coiled around Terra's massive antlers, swinging upside down to show her boredom.

"It's so dark down here," she complained.

Terra flicked his tail in annoyance. "Yes that tends to happen when you go underground where there's no sun."

"Are there really ghosts in these tunnels?" Breeze asked excitedly, ignoring her clanmate's irritation.

Basil piped up for her. "Of course there aren't. Wait a minute, who's that dragon standing behind Terra?"

Terra jumped a bit and looked behind him to see nothing. While Basil practically rolled on the ground laughing, Terra growled. "Yes, very funny."

"It's---" Kratos clears his throat, pushing a smile upon his maw and trying to adhere to a friendlier demeanour despite the faint trickles of concern touching his maw. "It's quite alright, there is a better lit chamber not too far from here if you wished to rest for a little bit?"

His somber attitude was starkly contrasted with Kali's bark of a laugh and bright grin, "I have no clue. The others say they hear wailing and snarling down here but it sounds like a whole load of bu-..."

"Oh, it's totally real." Calypso interjects with a snort. Her gaze shifting behind Terra's location then back with a tone of heavy seriousness; only betrayed by the crease of amusement at her eyes. "You really should be careful. You never know what you'll dig into in these caverns."

"Guys-..." Kratos sighs heavily, "There's nothing down here but us idiots and some stray creatures."

"Oh and, y'know, those two weird dragons we found down here that had basically never seen daylight?"

"Yeah, except those, Kali..." The black and green Banescale shut his eyes for a second, willign the stress away before adopting that smile again. "But enough about supposed ghosts, you guys look like you could use somewhere safer to relax for a moment."

Terra looked down the length of the dark tunnel and decided to speak first. A shiver ran up his spine at Calypso's words. "As much as I do love the underground," he pointed a look at Basil, who was using the lantern to make shadow puppets on the wall, mocking the larger dragon as he spoke, which Breeze apparently thought was a riot. "I think these two would do well with a bit more light."

Kya nodded. "I agree, would you mind taking us there?" As always, her tone was proper, her demeanor polite. Even despite her exhaustion, her gem exuded the same soothing aura it always did.

Basil was already on his feet. "You found actual dragons down here? That's so cool, cave dwelling dragons. It's like something out of a horror story."

Breeze gasped and zipped over to Basil's side. Though she was excitable as ever, there was a touch of fear in her green eyes. "We're gonna get eaten alive down here, aren't we?"

"Oh, I don't know, Breeze." Basil grinned, in an attempt to spook his little sister. "They might be polite enough to off you first."

The spiral gave a little yelp of fear before diving back onto the safety of Terra's massive horns. She looked around the dark nervously.

"Basil," Kya scolded him. "Don't scare them, it's rude," she returned her attention to the lead banescale. "Yes, we'll follow you. I'm sure Terra's digging claws could use the rest."

A nod from the gaoler.
