Bast was excited to be here! To an extent- she was also nervous as all hell. But for the moment, it seemed fine. She pulled her wings close to her body and walked into the school, tail twitching nervously- which was bad. She had a bulb of venom on the end of that, and if it hit someone, that'd be bad.
The anxious SandWing made her way over to one of the rooms and thankfully, inside was not some classroom. It was a library, full of books and scrolls and other things she could actually curl up and read.
She made her way deeper into the library, plucking an interesting book from the shelves and curling up, beginning to read it in one of the window- ledges- the large kind one can curl up in and have sunlight shine on them as they read. Maybe this school wouldn't be so bad?

Entering the school had been the hardest part so far, Citrine had come to find. His large, awkward size made the hallways awkward to maneuver around, especially due to his wing size. Fortunately, the hallways soon merged into large room that had ceilings high enough to where one would have to fly up to touch them, especially in the library.
Citrine wanted to get a head start on lessons, since he had avoided school for long enough that he had all but forgotten his pervious lessons. Of course, he also wanted to do this so he would have enough time later to roll in some of his quartz sand that was kept in a small pouch that was tied to his side. Keeping his wings glittery was more difficult than it seemed. Speaking of, his lavish style had attracted a few confused glances, as Citrine was not apart of any known royalty, so it was strange for a dragon to be covered nearly head to talon in jewels and minerals. Citrine liked to think they were jealous, but in realty, most dragons were only confused- not jealous.
Humming happily to himself he scanned through the shelves before finding himself in the back of the library near the windows, where another dragon was curled up, reading. Smiling, Citrine approached the dragon. It would be his first opportunity to try and at least acquaintance himself with someone, so he at least wanted to learn their name in case he ended up having a group project in one of his classes.
"Hello there." He spoke low to respect the library, but loud enough to be heard.

Ostrich had never been to such a big school! It was huge! Maybe she would make friends here!
She walked into the school looking around at everything her eyes landed on a chalk board, it read:

Ostrich took a step towards the left and found a few rooms. There was a what seemed to be a art room, and to the other side there was a room full of glass and others see through substances. She sat down. Maybe there's a room with no dragons or at least a few..? ostrich thought to herself.
After several minutes of walking around she found a room with little to no dragons at all she curled up by a pile of sand near a window where 2 dragons looked like they were talking, there was a large dragon who looked like he had a whole bunch of diamonds imbedded in his scales. Jealousy grew from the pit of her stomach she wished she atleast had half of his glitteryness! Even though 'glitteryness' wasn't a word she used it often, the other looked anxious and was sitting in the window. Ostrich tilted her head at them, she looked away and started to stir the sand with her claw. The sand seemed so warm and welcoming it's minerals were round and glided around her talons easily.
Gaboon glyded with onyx wings, making note of how empty the campus felt to him.
He had been encouraged to enroll at this school, while he was dreading social contact he wouldn't refuse the opportunity to learn, to make her happy
He entered through the entrance, wings tucked against his fist scales as he walked with pride. In the corner of his eye he saw her, while in motion he could only describe her as a shadow flickering in and out of sight.
His heart leapt with joy as he ducked into a corner, here he could wrap himself with his wings and hope to blend into the darkness, he could maybe spend his time with her

The golden-brown drag ones glided down from the warm desert air currents to land—not very gracefully— in front of the school. Here she was! At a new school!
Both the head of the orphanage and the two teachers that worked there had been pestering her about going to school for a year now. It was driving her crazy.
She didn’t need to ‘build character and find lifelong friends’ as creaky old Sanddrift said, or ‘learn the skills you need to maneuver smoothly through life’ like Lantana always droned on about.
She was a sandwing!
A rough and tumble dragon straight out of the toughest neighborhoods!
She didn’t need to become the queen’s top advisor! She could just stay in her town, roaming the streets and becoming a tough trader!
But of course, she was already here, so it was time to get on with school.
Head held high, she marched right in through the entrance hall and chose a door at random. Maybe she’d find someone to tell her what her first class was.
By chance, she walked into a library.
Oh boy.
Vinca couldn’t stand libraries.
Yeah they were cool and all, but what was the point of reading about something completely made up if she couldn’t see the characters and places?
Her roommates were all mad about books back at the orphanage, and she’d heard them blabber on and on about adventures with seawings and hybrids and magical thunder dragons in their scrolls, but they were just words when Vinca tried to read them. Cold, hard, uninteresting words.
Shaking her head, she turned back around and managed to find her way back to the entrance hall. Well that was lucky.
Vinca traced one of the walls with her talons. No major details she could focus on. No rocks in the walls, or pebbles on the floor, nothing. She’d have to surreptitiously mark each room in some way later on, maybe putting a pebble in a corner or something.
Turning to examine the area for anything that might help her, she noticed a sandwing huddled in a corner.
“Hey, are you alright?” She said, coming over to see what was going on.

Gaboon twisted his neck, his face narrowing as his forked tounge slit out. " No, were fine " he murmured, lifting a black claw to cover his face. He was always self concious of the parts of him that were his father, never knowing how people would react to him
" If your lost, go ask a teacher or another student, I've Just arrived and needed a break from flying " Gaboon opened his fingers over his eye to look at the sand wing, yeah, he was acting natural.

“Who’s ‘we’?” She said curiously, suddenly much more interested in the sandwing. They also seemed to be part nightwing, judging by some of it’s scales. Or they were very, very fond of tattoos.
“Oh I’m not lost.” She said casually, thought that was a complete lie since she had absolutely no idea where anything was, “I’m just making sure you aren’t lost or generally upset or worried.”
Vinca shrugged, as if she wasn’t sure what she was doing over here herself.
“Apparently dragons are afraid of school? Which sounds like nonsense. The walls aren’t going to bite you or anything.” She continued, leaning over to pat the hard packed sand that made up the building.

He felt her breath on his neck, had a feeling she was slipping out from the darkness, gave him a sense of comfort " nevermind, me, " Gaboon pressed his body against the sandstone, a scowl ever present on his face. He didn't know why people seemed tone deaf sometimes but he'd have to deal with it for now
" It's not the walls that I don't like, " it was the dragons here. There was so many dragons that Somno might not be able to keep track, to keep him safe.
He shifted, spreading his wings. They were dark on the underside with little silver scales scattered all over, Somno always liked to look at them when the stars were covered. Gaboon pulled himself up, giving one last glance to the female sandwing before trying to disappear into the crowd
