I figure we have enough characters to start, although I'm still welcoming more people if they so desire. So I guess I'll begin....

Victor checked his compass. He couldn't be too far away from the city now. He was positive he was going in the right direction. He had been near Fairlake many times before, but a dust storm had almost completely thrown him off course had it not been for his trusty navigation tools. He didn't know if his client had hired more mercenaries for the same job, and Victor really didn't want to miss out on a kill/capture and thus payment. Sighing, the wanderer pulled his scarf up over his nose and mouth and continued on his way.

Neo let out a whine as a rather inopportune gust of wind blew his map away. Sure, the map hadn’t been the most helpful, but at least it let him figure out where he was in comparison to the various ruins of humanity from so long ago. He’d failed to find any relics or interesting items from before the wasteland he knew came into being that day, and had thus planned to take shelter in the nearest INH city, Fairlake, for the night. Neo had been there maybe once or twice—it was hard to remember, but he definitely didn’t know the place well enough to get there without some kind of aid.

And that was problematic, because the nineteen-year-old (who was actually sixteen, but he really had to get into the habit of internally referring to himself as older in order to avoid slipping up when asked his age) was lost out in the middle of the wasteland with zero clue where he was.

...Neo really hated his luck.

Something hit Victor in the side of the head. He instantly lurched and yanked whatever it was off of him, nearly dropping his compass in the process. It looked like a map. It wasn't like his, the font was different. He folded it up, he could rely on his own stuff, he decided. He headed off in the general direction the map came from, knowing the city was somewhere that way.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Anthony woke up yet again on another morning. That night he got crazy amount of 3 hours of sleep and he could feel incoming headache. He had to endure somehow. Just a bit more, starting next day, he had a few days off, so there was a possibility to get some rest or at least to catch up with a few books he bought lately. He planned to spend some time with his sister too.
After he had gotten to work, first thing he heard was that he had to go and help at the gates. Was it even his job? Well, arguing with his boss was pointless anyway, so he just geared himself up and went where they told him to. Guarding the gates could be both - the best and the worst job to do, depending how many people decided to visit the city. This day was rather boring, at least for now, but Anthony knew that everything could change in a few seconds. Nevertheless, at that moment, he was mainly focused on thinking what to eat for a dinner.

Neo now had three options:

1. Stand there and pray someone would come for him

2. Wander around blindly in the direction that possibly could bring him to Fairlake

3. Wander around blindly, but this time in the direction of the map

Neo decided that option number three would probably be the best, for now. He had no idea if there was anyone nearby, and he also wasn’t 100% sure that he was even facing the right direction. The young man started walking in the direction his map had flown off towards. Eventually, he spotted a figure in the distance.

Without thinking, he called out, “Hello? Anyone there?”

That might’ve been a bad decision, actually. Neo had no idea if the person was some kind of aggressive hobo or a random bandit looking rob him. Either way, he could totally take him! He had a handgun!

...A handgun with one singular bullet left in it, but a gun nonetheless!

Captain Rooster

Sandstorms had a weird sort of beauty to them. They were harsh yeah, and maybe he was just desperate to find pretty things in a wasteland but he'd come to appreciate watching them. However, that didnt really make being stuck in one very fun. He trudged onward, gas mask pulled down, afterall it currently had no filters. If he was on track like he thought he was he should be approaching the city outskirts, hopefully he could find some sort of shelter in a half burned home, or best case scenario hit the city and get inside somewhere. He kept moving, trying to spot grass on the ground. He sang a tune softly as he moved, he couldn't remember the name but he did remember the words. Strange how that happened.

Distantly, he thought he heard a voice. Now, it wasn't unusual to hear voices out in the desert, anyone knew that but that was distant. He didn't often hear them distantly. Captain stopped singing, and kept an ear out for any gunshots. The sandstorm wasn't as beautiful now, he couldn't scope out the land to figure out where that voice came from, or if it was just the wind. Still, if that was a trap, he dint want them to get the jump on him. He moved to the general direction, slowly, keeping an eye out for whatever it was out there.

"They asked me if I had a degree in theoretical physics. I said I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard"
Victor heard a faint shouting. Oh, someone's lost.... He thought, and trudged on in that direction. He saw a figure in the distance and decided to track it down. They seemed like they didn't know where they were going.

Neo suddenly realized that the figure he had spotted was getting closer, and he himself had stopped moving. Which meant that the person was now coming directly in his direction.

He didn’t know whether or not they were hostile, but he was getting really tired of the desert sand, so he’d take his chances. Neo started heading towards the unknown person he had seen, waving and hoping that he wasn’t about to get mugged in the middle of nowhere.

Victor finally got to the person. They seemed young, definitely under the age of 20. Looked like another scavenger judging by the clothes, and Victor had bumped into other ones before, but never one who didn't have even a small memory of pre-war Earth. "Hey, are you lost?" He asked. I hope this guy doesn't try to rob me, I'll blow his head off with my shotgun, he thought.

Neo, upon hearing the stranger’s question, contemplated what his next move should be for approximately 0.2 seconds before crossing his arms.

“If I said no, would you believe me?”
