A relatively normal afternoon on Popstar– Mr. Shine was blaring his bright light over the star's five corners, Bronto Burts were buzzing through the air, and the Waddle Dees were... well, waddling. A nice, peaceful start to the day for the lazy inhabitants.

[emoji=apple size=1] Bandana Dee [emoji=apple size=1] Bandana waddled down the halls of Dedede's castle. He didn't technically work there anymore, but he still admired the Great King to no end. And he knew the Waddle Dees that were working there had a lot to do, so he loved to lend a stub every now and then. As he passed the kitchen, he nearly ran into a Waddle Dee exiting it, almost causing him to drop his dangerously tall stack of plates. “S-sorry!” He said quickly, using his stubs to help stop the tower from falling. He carefully grabbed half of the plates to lighten the Dee’s load. The worker bobbed his head in a mix of acknowledgement and admiration for Bandana Dee. ----- [emoji=shadow rune size=1] Dark Matter Swordsman [emoji=shadow rune size=1] Dark Matter Swordsman sat in the shadows of the forest, narrowly avoiding the spots of light that snuck through the leaves. He constantly tried to fight it, but the problem still stood that light caused the lone piece of Dark Matter annoying, mild pain. The equivalent to staring directly into the sun for too long, but with your entire body. All of the forest creatures seemed to cower away from him. But… that’s fine, he… didn’t care, he didn’t care, he reminded himself as he used his sword to slash a tree over and over again and his eye turned a light shade of red.

[emoji=sun size=1] Marx [emoji=crescent moon 2 size=1] A nice, peaceful day... Too peaceful. Too nice. This simply wouldn’t do. Marx grumbled to himself, kicking aside a small stone in his path as he wandered through the forest, watching lazily as it careened off into the grass. Residing on Dreamland for so many years was beginning to make him soft. Him! Part of him longed to go lounge in a patch of sunlight for the rest of the day— he needed to find something to do, and fast. He needed to see some chaos! Grinning eagerly to himself, Marx began to take another step forward… ...but whirled around suddenly upon hearing a strange noise, not too far behind him. It was almost like… someone was attacking a tree with some kind of blade? Whispy didn’t usually hang out around these parts, and Meta Knight never trained in this area either… Nor does he just slash at random trees, last I checked. He’s got training dummies for that. Marx considered just moving onward for a moment, but… whatever was going on could provide just the excitement he needed! And with that, Marx cleared his throat and slapped a smile back across his face, staring off in the direction he heard the sound from. “Helloooo~! Is someone there?”

[emoji=shadow rune size=1] Dark Matter Swordsman [emoji=shadow rune size=1] Dark Matter halted his attack on the tree. He stayed silent in order to listen to his surroundings, his eye fading back to yellow as curiosity overcame his annoyance. This new voice was slightly painful to listen to, but it was a step up from the normal cheery, squeaky voices of the other inhabitants that cut into his thoughts like the Rainbow Sword did to him a while back. The voice sounded friendly, but the friendliness seemed a little… fake. He still hesitated to speak, though. He had not spoken in a while… it seemed his voice only drove people away. Instead he slunk as close to the edge of the woods as he dared, almost in reach of the blaring sunlight, to try and catch a glimpse of the speaker. Unfortunately, staying in the shadows so long caused his eye to hurt when he stared directly at the bright landscape, and the creature remained an unidentifiable colorful blur.

She stretched and slowly crawled her way out of the shade of the Dreamstalk beneath which she rested, rubbing her eyes. It seemed she had slept late today. She frowned, disappointed with herself, but then again, she had stayed up extremely late last night to make the journey down from Royal Road. The Floralian smoothed out her ruffled, silky white hair, adjusting her scarf, before taking a look around. So this was what the Lower World looked like at day? It almost reminded her of Fine Fields, with... less clouds and vines. ... It's beautiful, Sectonia thought, smiling to herself. A dark visage, a single eye… and a rather impressive-looking sword floating at its side. Jackpot. Marx whistled, trotting over towards the strange figure. “He~llo there! You don’t look like you’re from around these parts, nope. Are you lost? Where’d you come from? What’s your name?” There was a bad feeling stirring in his gut, but Marx decided to ignore it. He’s seen and dealt with worse things than what could very much possibly be a lone, unfamiliar dark matter! As long as it didn’t try to possess him… Marx shook his head, his grin widening. If it wanted to possess him, he figured it would’ve done so already. Besides, this thing looked like it could provide just the excitement he was after!

[emoji=apple size=1] Bandana Dee [emoji=apple size=1] "Um... hey!" He greeted Sub-Zero, seemingly nervous around her (however, hilariously, the other worker Waddle Dee seemed fine around her, and he wasn't even skilled in combat like Bandana Dee was). He considered waving, but seeing as his stubs were holding up five very fragile plates he decided against it. "You know, it's a nice afternoon! You don't have to be patrolling." he said, quickly adding, "...But if you want to, that's totally fine! I'm not trying to judge you!" Bandana shifted on his feet, choosing to stare at the ground rather than Sub-Zero. "...I'm just saying, even Sir Meta Knight takes breaks every now and then." ----- [emoji=shadow rune size=1] Dark Matter Swordsman [emoji=shadow rune size=1] Dark Matter grumbled. He didn't know what was giving a headache more; the bright sunlight, or this stranger's persistent questions. Though, something inside him urged him to stick around. I mean, when was the last time he was asked questions like that? A forever ago? Sure, in the hivemind he was sometimes queried as to what his Dark Matter number was, but that wasn't the same. This was definitely a first. Still, there was something untrustworthy about the creature. He kept his sword out in front of him, just in case. Might as well humor them, at least for the moment. If they run, they run... he thought as tried to find his very low and distorted voice. "...Don't be stupid." he stated simply. He was, quite obviously, a Dark Matter from Dark Star, and Dark Matters didn't have names (except for that fool, Gooey. Even thinking about him made the Dark Matter feel anger bubble up inside of him). The figure would either have to be blind or incredibly dense not to know that.
