The jet black pearlcatcher had slinked away from the rest of his coven unnoticed, careful not to be spotted by the guardian who so fiercely offered her protection to him. She went ballistic when Lux ventured out alone. But the night before, he'd seen a grand light in the sky- a meteor illuminated by the reverent glow of the Lightweaver's power. A sign from the cosmos, pointing him toward a fate his deity intended for him. Naturally, it was a calling that the pearlcatcher would follow.
As he wove between the brambles and thorns with practiced agility, Lux kept sharp eyes scanning the forest around him. He knew full well that the Tangled Wood held its secrets and its dangers. Dragons who would take issue with his divine burden. No matter. He'd be rid of this horrible region soon, able to return to the Sunbeam Ruins. In the meantime, he'd make the best of what his deity offered. The pearlcatcher had recently caught the scent of another dragon, and he was currently seeking them out in the event that one of the Reach dragons had finally grown reckless enough to leave the caverns.

The tangled barbs stuck in her skin as she dragged her way through twisting trees. She could feel the meteor tugging her towards it, so FieryGrace wasn't worried about getting lost - but it seemed the woods themselves were trying their hardest to stop her, roots tripping and branches snagging. With a scowl she twists her way free from another bramble, parts of her cloak left behind. She sighed deeply and rested a second, then makes a descision.
FieryGrace begins to pull herself up a sturdy tree, long dark trail brushing the ground as her head peaks above the canopy. A darkened sky, glittering with a thousand stars spans as far as she can see, broken only by a faint red glow ahead. There it was, and she was getting closer.

Momentarily distracted from his pursuit of that blazing light in the sky by the scent of another dragon so close, the pearlcatcher slunk through the brush, careful to avoid each jagged branch. He tried not to scowl in disgust at the cyan glow emitted from the mushrooms surrounding him. Their mock-light was nearly disgraceful on its own.
Lux returned his attention to the trail, a scent of smoke and iron, characteristic of a dragon from the Ashfall Waste. He looked up at the place where the path ended, his golden eyes scanning up a sturdy tree. Above, his gaze went wide with both surprise and distaste. There, perched between two branches and scanning something above the foliage, was a large black and orange imperial. Lux's mouth quirked into a sneer, but he wasn't keen on attacking without the others in his group. Nonetheless, he saw that the dragon seemed to be looking in the direction of the Lightweaver's calling. "Excuse me," he snapped, unable to stop himself. "Can I ask what it is you're looking at, imperial?" While his words weren't particularly aggressive, his tone certainly was.

FieryGrace jumped at a voice below her, disdain and aggression wafting up to her along with the words. She glanced down, meeting the eyes of a jetblack pearlcatcher, golden eyes and runes reflected the light of the moon and she tilted her head. Though it was common place for dragons to take up residence outside their birth flights, but the religous garb of this dragon suggested they were a priest of the LightWeaver.
Pointed eyes and downturned mouth covered by her mask, the imperial turns her gaze back to the crash site ahead of her. Without a word, she beckoned the pearlcatcher to her perch, pointing across the canopy to the crash site. Though suprised, she supposed it made sense other followers had started to gather here. The streak of light in the sky could have been a sign from the LightWeaver, at least it could have if she wasn't sure it was meant for her.

At her silence, Lux scoffed and almost continued on his way to the meteor's landing site until she gestured for him to join her.
Lux's curiosity overtook his disdain just then, and in one strong bound and a few beats of his wings, his landed on the branch adjacent to the imperial, keeping their distance a solid meter apart. He followed her gaze across the treetops all the way across the wood, where the fallen star must have hit the ground. Dark patches of smoke wafted up from the trees.
"You're a fire dragon," he observed, and his tone was, as always, judgmental. "Why would you be following the Lightweaver's beckoning?"

Against her will, a smile tugged at her lips. Foolish dragon, to think this a sign from anyone but the deity of fire. She chuckled slightly at his statement. She stretched her glistening orange wings wide, easily enveloping the pearlcatcher's smaller body as she prepared to take flight. The moon shined warped yellow light, changing to orange as it broke through her transparent wings, bathing their small area of forest in sweet orange glow.
"Shall we see who is right?" She whispered, voice gentle and barely audible, like sumer breeze through the forest. And with that she launched herself in the direction of the meteor.

The arrogance! Lux bristled. How dare this traitor to the light element imply that he was incorrect in recognizing a sign from his own deity? However, he took to the air and flew just below her, seething all the while.
"May Lightweaver forgive your impotence," he snarled. "I surely won't. But sure, imperial. Let's see whose deity has truly called them," he had to speak with volume, in order to be heard over the wind. The pearlcatcher had encountered dozens of imperial dragons in his lifetime, but never one so certain of another deity's power. Most of the imps he'd faced off with so far had been light-born and loyal to their element.

The flight was easier than she had anticipated. It had been a while since she had to fly more than a dozen metres, but the gentle breeze carried them to their goal. The pearlcatcher who flew below her was radiating anger and spite, which confused FieryGrace. True it was likely for priests to feel certain distate for those of other elements, but for the most part respected each other. Her experience with light priests as well were usually good ones, but this one seemed to brimming with something more than simple rivalry.
"You speak words of hatred, pearlcatcher," She stressed the final word. "Did my deity interupt your nap with her radiant message?" She crooned. If this dragon is to be hostile with her, then there is no sense in playing nicely.
As the pair approached the crash site, the meteor was easier to make out. Fire burning away at the forest, cinders cast into the sky as the night was set aglow. FieryGrace was overwhelmed with a feeling she was familiar with. Feeling the temperature rise the closer they got to the flames, a smile crept across her hidden face, as she alighted far enough away from the meteor that a non-fire dragon would still be comfortable.

Lux watched the path ahead of them with focused intensity. His golden eyes stayed locked firmly on their destination even when he let out a growl at her words. "Radiance is a virtue of light. Your deity is an amalgamation of smoke and ash and nothing more. I was seeking Lightweaver's message for many days. Unlike the likes of less practiced priests, I don't slumber on the job."
He added. "Besides. If my words ring of hate, you'll have to pardon me. I don't particularly enjoy conversing with Lightweaver's mistakes."
He landed on the ground, staring through the flame. Of course, he paid not attention to the fire caused by the blazing meteor but the aura of beautiful, brilliant orange light that radiated from it. It reflected in the dark sclera of his eyes, shockingly intense. He sent a smirk toward the imperial.
