Based off of the Weedy Seadragon (Phyllopteryx Taeniolatus), when a friend of mine mentioned "seahorse" I just had to draw them~
I went and drew some of the genes as well, they're right below!

Seadragons are timid, easy-going creatures. The Seadragon species originates from the Fishspine Reef, but thanks to them being able to withstand extreme environments can also be seen living far from home.
Gender Differences
The long "Swallowtails" on the male's pectoral fins could be shorter, or they could have a bit longer/sharper scales/horns!
Physical Attributes
Seadragons are a mid-sized breed. (Around 10-15 M in length) They have some rather small limbs as they do not use them to swim the majority of time. The spikes, "wings", and arm fins on the bodies of Seadragons are used mainly for camouflage, (The "wings"cannot be used for flight whatsoever on land) the pectoral fins that they use to swim are those behind their heads and lower backs. Their tails are prehensile, and are usually only curled when sleeping to hold onto something so they don't drift away, in defense mode, and when the males have eggs on their brood pouches.
Their long snouts can be used to siphon out crustaceans and plankton, their primary food source, or they can rely on their ability of camouflage and wait for an unwary fish or insect to go by in order to strike with their mouths that are raked by tiny, sharp teeth.
Social
These dragons prefer solitude, perfectly happy drifting alone safely in the waters.
Only when their eggs have hatched do they form strong bonds with their young, protecting them and caring for them extensively until the young have grown into adults.
Lairs
Seadragons prefer to drift in the waters surrounding the dragon lands but can be seen going inland and staking territory in very extreme places- some have claimed to have even seen them swimming in magma.
Seadragons typically build their nests in the waters, inside underwater caves, or around seaweed beds and corals far apart from others of their species. If there are no such places for them to keep their eggs protected in, the males carry the eggs on the brood patch under their tails.
The young do not have all their limbs grown in yet, so they reside wherever they were hatched in until adulthood, when they can finally either stay or seek out territory in another place.

Their tactic is to rely on their camouflage in order to avoid conflict by either blending in with their environment or using certain genes on their fins and "wings" to scare off predators. However if pressed into battle, they would use their extremely hard scales all along their bodies to buy time as they plan a way to escape-or fight. Breath attacks are their primary choice, and can be doled out from either their long snouts or mouths.[/s]
