I see alot of people unhappy with the current Site Status placements, and the more updates we get, the more I realize that the Site Status really is taking up too much room.
I've posted the idea for a drop down menu on a few other forum but I havent made an official suggestion for it, so here it is!
I like the status box where it is, and alot of other people do too, but what I think they could do to make everyone happy is to make it smaller and only show the most recent post, then to view older status' they could have a little drop down menu.
Something like this:

Where it expands to show more updates and you can also click "all updates" to go to the update forum. This should make random dragon completely visible (depending on how long the update text is) on resolutions 1600x900 (and bigger) as well as partially visible on smaller resolutions.
While I think having the site status on the top is very important, I also believe that we should at least be partially able to see the random dragon
Additionally a notification system to show when you have unread alerts

I was fine with the placement until it got so long. Hiding the older announcements and having a drop down to show them when you wish to check them would be an awesome idea.

Or maybe the site update box could be at the bottom of the right side bar where it can expand as much as needed without pushing the stuff down that we want to see, like daily exalt bonuses and random dragons.
