TOPIC | Adjust piece repulsion in Jigsaw
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ... 40 41
Now I get why the Jigsaw pieces are now repelling each other. It makes the game harder, so its not pumping out so much treasure. But as it stands, I think the pieces repel each other a bit TOO much?
Mainly, it interferes with pieces snapping together. For example, I tend to put together the edges of the puzzle first, then snap the edges all together. However with all these middle pieces floating around, even if I line the puzzles up EXACTLY for them to snap, they just end up getting repelled by another piece instead. And because the pieces repel, its hard to move them out of the way before you start trying to put things together.
Its good at stopping the accidental snapping when you just move the pieces out of the way, but its also interfering with things you WANT to snap together. Even more so if its a large section of pieces you want to snap together, so theres more chance an unrelated piece gets in your way.

A few fixes could be:

Lower how far the pieces are repelled

Make the snapping function take priority over the repelling function so it snaps FIRST then repels. However that does bring back pieces that snap together when all you wanted to do was move them out of the way.

Or more space to move pieces around in, so theres less chance of things being repelled when you want them to snap

I love the repelling feature but I was just thinking the same thing about prioritizing snapping over repelling. It can get a little frustrating after multiple times.

This this this! My playstyle developed into one where I liked to sort pieces that looked like they belonged, and now they ricochet around and -- on top of that -- even pieces meant to lock together bounce off as like as not.

If we can't have it back the way it was originally, the amount of repel should be reduced or the priority changed. Or give us more space to arrange our pieces.

I just spent about a minute trying to get a piece I KNEW fit to go into place.

"You fit there. Yes you do. No... stop. Just go. That's where you belong! WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING IT?!"

I like the new "sproingyness" of the pieces, but perhaps they are a bit too "sproingy." ;)

All of this. >.< We have a tiny little canvas space to work with and all the pieces come in a massive jumble, so trying to sort the edge pieces from the center pieces is a little bit like throwing a bunch of same-polarity magnets in a box and expecting them to all stay neatly in one corner of it.

I enjoyed jigsaw. It was my preferred game over the runestones one because I enjoy puzzles. I do not, however, enjoy having to fight to make two pieces that I know go together actually latch on to one another.

I kind of hate the repelling feature. The size of area we have to work on isn't large enough. Puzzle strategy that I have always used, whether it be online or in real life, is to separate the edge pieces from the inside pieces. I can't do that now because when I move the pieces, they refuse to overlap. Now I have to try and solve the puzzle within a messy jumbly pile of puzzle pieces. If you must have the repelling feature, please please please make the workable area much bigger. The puzzles can stay the same size. They aren't the problem. I just need more space.

I just tried ti play jigsaw at it was driving me up the wall, I had to stop because I couldn't take it. Every time I tried to align pieces with each other they just pushed the others away and made it impossible. 0/10 would not recommend.

I'm pretty sure I know why this needed to be implemented because some people were piling pieces and kind of cheating, but it really interferes with legitimate gameplay and annoys me to death. It needs to be adjusted.

This new puzzle feature of repelling pieces is maddening. There is not enough space for me to sort pieces and things have to be placed together very precisely in order to snap together.

Everytime I try to join a piece, it kicks other pieces around except for the piece it's supposed to fit to.

Please allow a "box" or a larger workspace. The "box" can be where we pull the clumped pieces out of so I can do the corners first and then spread the remaining pieces out... but in its current state trying to work around these is very difficult.

I assume the update was to fix the 'cheating' method of playing. If it's not possible to switch the game back to how it was originally I would agree with this suggestion.

Personally I think the jigsaw should just be reverted back. Any point the change would have made has been lost on the fact that there is now and overall cap of 75k per day. No matter what method you use to play nobody is making more than that, so I don't see the point of keeping the game update. It just makes a lot of people not want to play the game at all.

Eisen's Skins & Accents ... and Skincents!
Oh-- and the other part that is maddening: when you have half of an outside frame snapped together and it WOOSHES right off the board because the whole length of the outside pieces repelled against a piece and went byebye.

Does the easy puzzle have larger/less pieces? they seem bigger than I remember. Which is good :D
