TOPIC | A Handful of Miscellaneous Suggestions
Hello! I'm very new to the site (joined less than a month ago) so I'm not sure if many of these have come up before. I did some looking around, but if I am repeating any old suggestions please feel free to just disregard. ^_^

1) More Crafting
I rather like the way Alchemy is something you can come back to several times in a day, as well as really enjoying the notion of craftable-only items. I would really like the idea of more workstations like this, like a tailor who could take basic items and turn them into things like fabric, which could then be crafted into clothing. Or perhaps a dye station that would let you change apparel of one colour into another colour, if provided with the proper items and treasure. Other craft stations could be for things like cooking and metalworking. Also, perhaps spending gems would allow you to skip or shorten the crafting time?

2) Farming/Replicating
This could be a once-a-day thing, and would act a lot like the Nesting Grounds. You would begin by "planting" an item from your hoard into a box and tending it. Then, after tending it for the next day or days, you'd be able to collect multiple newly grown copies of that item. Like nests, you could save up to buy multiple boxes. Replication time and number of copies made would vary depending on the rarity of the item being replicated.

3) Slightly Increased Payout from Fairgrounds Games
(This one I'm actually not so sure about; perhaps it's entirely based in my own opinions. I certainly don't know what the site-wide ramifications would be for this one. Anyways.) It might be helpful if the games in the Fairground paid out slightly more treasure than it currently does. The daily limit could certainly stay the same. It is difficult to get an amount of treasure that can be spent on anything without spending about half an hour straight on a single game; which can be irritating when you only have about fifteen minutes at a time to spend. Like I say, I'm not so sure about this one.

4) Subtle Genes
This one would require so much effort I can't actually see it being feasible, but I thought it might be a really rather neat thing to incorporate. Someday. Maybe.
These would be genes that subtly change a dragon's appearance and proportions. They would determine things like snout length, wing size, horn shape, etc. Dragons with these genes would not be able to wear skins, unless those skins were designed for them specifically.
Like I say, I don't really think this one is feasible. But maybe it will spark some interesting ideas? I hope so.

So those are my thoughts. Thanks for reading!

If they introduce more crafting options in the future; I'd like them to be more than essentially a reskin of Baldwin.

For the replicating feature, as long as it does not affect gem items, limited items or retired items I have no real feelings either way.

For the increased payout, as long as the fairground cap remains the same, I don't see an issue with slightly adjusting the payouts.

For subtle genes; introducing more genes like spines would be fine, but I'd rather not see genes that really change the breed outline (for example changing the wings) as it could affect how apparel fits.

Agreed, it would be ideal if new crafting had new elements as well. And for sure, the replication would be unusable on things like that.

As for the gene thing, I hadn't even considered apparel yet. Good point. Guess that renders that idea pretty much impossible.

I'd prefer any new crafting avenues be different from Baldwin's. However, it does sound cool.

I'd love a replication option. What all could it be applied to, though? Could you grow food? Materials? Familiars? Apparel? There'd have to be some limits to this.

I think upping fairegrounds payout seems fine. I don't know that it would really affect much, though.

For the gene thing, I don't think this would really work. The changing proportions would mess with existing genes (unless they took the place of them?), and they would probably make some apparel look off. That said, Spines already messes up a lot of apparel, so if the artists want to do this, I'd say go for it. It'd certainly open up a lot more customization options for dragons. Even if it only works on all basic dragons, it'd be pretty neat. Tons of people think certain other genes only work on basics as-is anyway.

I think there might end up being some new type of crafting in the mythical Adventure Mode? IDK though, I don't think anyone knows much about this mysterious future feature.

I'm not sure what to think about the farming thing. It makes sense that sentient creatures would have figured out some sort of agriculture, especially when aided by magic, so maybe it would work with certain foods but not necessarily anything else. And whatever's being farmed would have to have a very low hoardsell value or just not be hoardsellable at all, or maybe there's some treasure cost or something. Anything to stop people from just farming food to get money - you'd have to actually need the food.

I agree with the Fairgrounds thing, the best way of getting FG money right now is playing Shock Switch for 20 minutes straight, as you said. Or Artifracture, I guess, but again, big chunk of time because NO PAUSE BUTTON.

Genes that change a dragon's outline are asking for trouble. And if it changes a shape, instead of just adding something like spines, then it suddenly becomes a huge breed-specific problem and maybe doesn't even apply to every breed. I think the admins don't want anything but skins/accents to be breed-specific if possible.

one of the biggest problems I can see with genes changing the proportions of dragons etc.. isn't so much apparel as skins and accents. Right now we have spines that adds some spines to the dragon line art. It can interfere with skins and accents, but it is usually a very small addition. Something that say, makes a wing smaller has a chance of messing up a skin that adds things that look like veils to a wing, suddenly those veils are hanging in mid air instead of wrapping around a wing.

Yes, the biggest issue for genes that mess with proportions would be the sheer amount of work the artists would have modifying genes and apparel to fit every single possible proportion for every body part for every dragon. It would be ridiculous.

On the other hand, it would be really, really neat to have every dragon look subtly unique. And be able to pass on those genes to their offspring for a real family resemblance.

Maybe it would be cool to have some kind of special "Morphing" dragon. It could only have basic genes and/or not be able to wear apparel, but you could purchase changes to it like wing size/type etc. Just a random thought there.

As for farming/cloning, I figure the trade-off would be time. Replicating something rare would take as long, if not longer, than the average of happening across it by grinding. Or perhaps "farmed" items couldn't be traded? I imagine the devs would know more about fair ratios.
