TOPIC | Retired familliar raffles
1 2
OK, It's a topic that I see come up here pretty often that people want the retired stuff back, most notably the sprites. While I don't think that they should be straight up reintroduced, I do agree that it would be quite sad if they simply... went extinct. Left in abandoned accounts, or forgotten. And, understandably, when many people get their hands on one of these sprites, they usually want to keep it- at least for awhile. However, a straight up reintroduction would cause many problems, such as the value of these sprites tanking, making the people who bought them for insane prices before the reintroduction waste their money (and in terms of the light sprite we are talking HUNDREDS) and In general, it wouldn't be good.

So, my solution is this-
Once a month, ONE (or more, I'm still thinking about what would be best) sprite corresponding to the elemental holiday of that month is raffled off. The raffle is free, you get one entry, and one only. On the last day of the festival, it is randomly assigned to any account that is currently receiving the bonuses for your clan being well-fed. I think this would help to keep the scarcity, while still keeping the sprites "alive"

Please give feedback!
*Edit* I see some people saying that they would like the apparel as well as familliars- I agree! Maybe it would be a full set in each box, or something like that. And I don't think it should be a paid thing- Maybe one ticket per person, or you get 1 ticket for day you log on during the ticket collecting period? If it was paid, then just the richest people would be able to get the items, and It wouldn't be fair

No support at this time. Maybe at a much later date it is apparent that retired items are no longer in circulation, then Maybe start looking at things but not now. By the way I could care less about the familiars, the apparel on the other hand I would love, but still not at the expense of others

While I'm wholehearted support retired items come back. How is this different with countless raffle are hosted by players in the forum?

I also support re-cycling items, but this suggestion seems lackluster. There's nothing to it beyond doing what players already do--keeping their clan well-fed. I could get more behind a raffle where it's 10,000 treasure a ticket and players can buy as many as they want. That would be a pretty amazing treasure sink.

I also don't think this should be limited to the year one familiars. There are some extinct skins that should also be re-introduced. A raffle could involve several tiers of prizes: Level 3) 12 winners, a skin. Level 2) 6 winners, an armband. Level 1) 3 winners, an apparel item. Grand Prize) 1 winner, a sprite. Or something like that.

Pings are disabled.

If writers are supposed to "show not tell," why are we called "storytellers" and not "storyshow-ers"?
Why familiars?

If anything, apparel should be the one coming back. Or skins.

@Sopheroo the familiars are controversial since there's more incentive to collect them. that empty box in their bestiary just drives people nuts

@vaxl

You only need one of each familiar.

Meanwhile, you can need more than one Tricktrouper Crown, or more than one Sunchasers Jewellery.

imo, apparel becoming extinct is far more worrying than familiars.

@sopheroo

most people don't really care for apparel beyond the silks... Or banners? I personally just really like the ribbons. There's no real incentive to get apparel though. I had spellscrolls once. It took a while, but I sold them.

there's definitely room in this thread to include other holiday items though

@Vazl

But... a LOT of people actually care for apparel beyond the silks and banners, I've actually never seen anyone who only likes those and not other apparel, tbh.

Most people who use apparel actually use a wider range of apparel? I've never seen anyone use one or two kinds of apparel in their lair. And most people I see use apparel too? I've seen a few who don't though. I mean the incentive is to make your dragon look cool or pretty or whatever, same as genes or breads?

@vaxl And a lot of people don't care for the bestiary. See, it goes both ways. @toonkuriboh
I've never seen anyone use one or two kinds of apparel in their lair.
sup it is me the person who only uses one kind of apparel
