TOPIC | Awakening Familiars = Permanent Bestiary
1 2 3 4
I feel like I can't be the first one to have thought of this but I haven't seen a thread for it.

Something I'd like to see implemented is a way to sell/transmute/give away a familiar, without having it disappear from one's bestiary or bestiary count. A fair way I think one should be able to keep it from disappearing is putting in the effort to fully bond with said familiar.

This could make sense since your clan would learn a lot about that familiar during the 83 days it's bonded with, and wouldn't forget its traits or coloration upon having it disappear from one's hoard.

Of course you could keep a copy of the familiar in your hoard or vault, but I know I'd want to make use of the familiars I don't plan on keeping or assigning to dragons by either trading, selling, gifting, or transmuting them for slime.

You don't have to agree of course. Feel free to share your thoughts and whether you agree or disagree if you want to.

I think a way to tell if they are fully bonded from your hoard would be a nice touch as well? But I do think something like this would be a good idea. If you have had the familiar before, it should still count in some way

That would be nice. A way to tell if you've fully bonded with a familiar from auction sale and maybe the crossroads page too?

I might sell my light sprite if this was the case.
I want to keep my fam count, and having to keep all the fams with me stops me from selling my really old ones because I would lose the entry and number. Even though I have them awakened.
This would help encourage people to part with their fams instead of hoarding them.
Which would likely help the people who are trying to get those hard to get fams and can't find them because no one is selling them because they want that beastiary entry.

I’ve always been a fan of this idea. It would help with the ‘retired familiar issue’ as many people keep them in the vault to keep the entry but don’t actually care if they have the familiar or not. There are several sprites is get rid of if I kept the entry

i like the suggested ability to see if u awakened a familiar from the inventory

this way i dont have to check all of them when i have to give a non-awakened familiar to a dragon

Ah, please. I wish this were a thing. Awakening familiars has virtually no point presently.

And the way the bestiary works now never made much sense to me. A bestiary is a record of creatures "encountered and collected." From the tooltip, it says "how many familiars your clan has befriended." I'm sure I wouldn't like it if it were simply encountering the familiar that put them in there, but right now it's as if the familiar rips its page out of the bestiary on its way out the door. I don't know about you guys, but I'm friends with people for longer than they happen to be at my house.

Would be neat to keep the profile count based on what you actually have (fulfilling the 'collection' description) but colour in the bestiary entries permanently if you've awakened them. Bestiary could also list two numbers - befriended and collected - and so could profiles tbh.

That way, people who just want to complete the bestiary have a better chance of doing so, but it doesn't break the 'big number' reward for people who've put a lot of time and effort into owning everything they have so far.

Tldr; more functionality rather than completely overwriting something that people already use as a goal

I've always been in support of this. There's no real reason it should vanish from your bestiary if you've taken the time to bond with it. The game still keeps track of your bonding level even with fams you don't have, so.
