Make Flight Rising better by sharing your ideas!
TOPIC | Suggested Changes regarding Exaltations
1 2 3 4 5
I would like to propose a couple of changes that I think would benefit the site and its community in the long run.

First Suggestion:
I would like to see a 24 to 48 hour block, preventing dragons newly purchased from the AH to be immediately exalted.

Second Suggestion:
I would like to see a limit of 5-10 dragons being able to be exalted from a lair per day.

I believe both of these suggestions would help keep the battles for Flight Dominance in the spirit they were, I believe, intended. Flight dominance should be a flight wide team effort, each clan within the flight sharing the burden of exalting dragons. I also think that it should not be determined by who is able to buy out the AH and exalt tons of dragons at once.

I honestly enjoy the overall atmosphere and community on Flight Rising, and I would truly hate to see "buying your way to dominance" becoming a trend. I feel that if that happened the dominance feature would become greatly unbalanced and flights would no longer all have the same fair chance at achieving dominance for a week to enjoy the benefits it brings.

Neither of my suggestions would truly alter the economy or general game play in a negative way. People could still buy up a lot of dragons, but they would just need to do it over time, and have the space to hold the dragons for the duration of the "no exalt" timer on auction house purchases.

My intention with these suggestions is just an attempt to maintain and keep things balanced so that every flight has the same fair chance at achieving dominance through teamwork.

EDIT: Guys, guys, psst. This thread is over a year old. Stop commenting and bumping it or people will just get confused!

I'll provide my support wholeheartedly for the first for so, so many reasons, but I think the second might be too limiting.

The idea of an "exaltation cooldown" on AH-purchased dragons definitely makes a lot of sense.
Although some people might sell dragons exclusively for money, a lot of people just want to see them go to a good home. Checking up on your babies to see they've been exalted to the deity of a completely different flight thirty seconds after purchase is probably a little frustrating and disheartening.
It makes sense, story-wise, too! A new dragon in a new clan and possibly a new flight is going to need some time to adjust.

@Dragonsage

It would a limit per day, so I think that would still be reasonable even with leveled dragons, to just spread them out a bit.

I'm not positive, as I have had dragons to exalt myself yet, but I believe adult/leveled dragons do give more in rewards when they're exalted, so it does benefit each clan to train up their exalts rather than just dumping hatchlings. I'd love to see some admin clarification on this though, I haven't been able to find any yet.

Yeah, I support these ideas wholeheartedly. It would break my heart if I sold a dragon only to find someone else had exalted them. I understand it happens, but at least a small deterrent will stop people from doing it willy nilly without regard to whether or not it's an eyesore.

...That's right — Lay down — Play dead — Be dead...
If there's that many people that want to buy dragons just to exalt them, enough to make it a real problem and not just a few outliers, then they're going to do it anyway. What's going to stop people from pooling resources and sending flightmates spare dragons and just exhausting everyone's limits? You would have to take further measures to prevent dragon trading x many days after purchase or how many dragons someone can purchase at once or how often and how much money you can send to people and it starts to become very micro-managey. On that grounds, I can't support it, even though I think the intentions are noble enough.

@Peixes
I think the idea behind the suggestion isn't necessarily to stop people from exalting purchased dragons entirely, and giving dragons to flightmates to exalt is still teamwork (even if I don't really agree with the limit per day). As I understand it, the suggestion is simply to deter people from short-sighted dominance racing that treats dragons more as currency than as…dragons.
