Hello FR Staff!
I'm BirdeeBee, breeder, trainer, and artist on your site and I have made many friends in this community. Unfortunately, I am also extremely photosensitive. Light, especially the bright blue light of screens, often causes me headaches. I cope with it by turning the blue light off on my phone, turning the brightness all the way down, and limiting my screen time. You know what also helps? Dark mode on websites. No doubt this is a suggestion you get a lot, but what's another thread in the mix?

I'd be lying if I said I was unaware of the Dark mode “mod” for your site and that I haven't considered using it. However, I am also aware of the . . . extreme lengths the Moderation staff goes to stop “modding” of Flight Rising. Which, is great, stop the cheaters. But, for those like myself, Dark mode can be the difference between being fine and a crippling migraine.

As a website who makes money from my clicks and time spent on your site, as a site who wants me to buy your in-game currency, your top priority should be keeping me and users like me on your pages. Not to even mention the fact that you should care about our well being as a site that presents itself as caring for its community.

I understand there might be some concerns about how dragons and items look on dark backgrounds or the time it takes to do such a thing. Well, from my own experience using Discord (as opposed to the forums for exactly this reason), Dark mode hardly changes the look and feel of dragons. And websites, as I understand, are not overly complicated to reskin. In fact! A simple endorsement or official release of a Dark mode “mod” would do the trick.

This is not simply a request to feed my dark goth edge-lord. This is not just “quality of life.” Many people suffer from actual medical conditions that can have a lasting impact on their lives.

I'm not expecting much, if any, response as I am very familiar with the reputation on the staff team. But, if you, those who built not only this great game but the amazing community, see this, We would love it if Dark mode was put on your to-do list. And, as someone reading this in the community, please post and show your support for Dark mode. The more fuss we make, the harder we are to ignore.

Thank you for your time and I hope to see you around <3

Support!

I often switch between this and Discord and Notepad++ (both of which are in dark mode) and I get severe migraines from doing so. However, I can't turn them into light mode because I can't read it.

Please consider this. Accessibility is so important!

indeed! i have a light sensitivity as well, to the point where i'm not even supposed to be outside without sunglasses when the sun is out. i get headaches from screens as well, even with blue light filters and lowered brightness. i'd love to see a dark mode - especially for when i'm online at night (which as someone with a full time job, that's usually when i'll be playing these days) and my apartment is dark (as i have poor lighting and i can't afford to buy extra lights). it definitely reduces the strain on eyes!

Would love, love, love a dark mode! Most other sites I use have one so switching over to FR from them is an unpleasant shock to the eyes every time.

What's a pixel dragon?
I don't have issues with bright screens myself. However I can support a dark mode for those who need it for medical reasons or even for those who use dark mode specifically at night to ease strain on their eyes. Every big name site these days has a Dark mode. A ton of adoptables sites I play on either have dark skins you can use or allow "modding" of the site to a degree that allows you to use a dark mode mod. As it stands FR is the only one with a GLARINGLY bright white backround and that's terrible!

Staff PLEASE just add it to your list! We are not asking for Dark mode tomorrow. Just for one at some point. Maybe it can be your next project after the lair tabs!

A dark mode would be very good, because switching between FR and, for example, discord on dark mode, hurts my head a lot, especially since im usually in a dark room because of poor lighting.

It hurts my eyes in the night hours even when I set my desktop color to a warmer scale! And I'm also temp blind when I switch to a site I have dark mode on.

I definitely support this as well! A lot of my other sites have dark mode. I don't have super photosensitive eyes, but I'd like to keep it that way. I do, however, have photo-sensitivity when I already have a headache because I get migraines very easily, so any little thing to help would be super appreciated. Please make this a thing, mods!
