Honestly FR is one of the most expensive games out there to play and I believe that the gem prices should be changed to like $1 = 500g it's a good price. Most of the time like I spend $20 on gems and can get like 2 things I really want with it? I think that's ridiculous.

Actually, from what I can tell, FR is pretty normal in gem prices. Especially considering that you can easily buy gems with treasure from other players, earn gems through chests and things like that, and so on...
Many other sites, probably many of those with 'cheaper' premium currency, don't have much in the way of the ability to get the premium currency without paying for it.

I think the rates are fine as they are.
Small transactions like a dollar generally cost the site more than they bring in due to fees.
Flight rising is also one of the more generous sites when it comes to free premium currency, if they made the gems cheaper they would likely remove or severely reduce the free gems.

no support, the staff deemed the price based of what they felt gems are worth and therefore price gem items accordingly, also from the other sites I've been on FR is well within average
Plus you get gems from playing the game? most premium currency you with have to buy
Would it be nicer if I could get more gems for my money, sure, but the gems are a big way the staff gets money to fund the site and I don't want to cut that money in half

Hmm.... what are you judging from and decided the gem selling rate is too high on FR? Most of the other pet sites I play uses a very similar rate to FR, unless you're referring to sites I do not know. If you mean a gene scroll or a breed change scroll, that's because those items, once applied to a dragon, can be passed on to the offspring. Meaning buying one coatl scroll, for example, can result in you have unlimited supply of coatls in the future. Not like most of other pet sites, where each individual pet is probably very cheap in comparison (something like $2 instead of $20), but most of them cannot breed so you cannot produce more of such 'premium' pets without buying more with premium currencies.
With items, well, in the context of game balance, I think they aren't bad too. Maybe some gem apparels are kinda expensive, but from your example I'm sure they aren't the items you're referring to since they are only $1-$3 a piece.

They'll most likely want a refund, which they won't get, and that isn't very fair. People have sunk a lot of real life money into this game and slashing gem prices like that would make many people upset.
