This request has been made for years with regards to hatchlings, but it merits bringing up for ancients too.
I doubt many players would disagree with this: we love our devs and artists. We don't take the enormous amount of work fitting the entire apparel catalog to a new breed must entail lightly, nor would we ever want the team to stress themselves out trying to do that on an unrealistic schedule.
Ancient breeds sound like a great compromise! I'm looking forward to seeing what the anniversary holds in store. And these dragons never being able to wear fitted apparel makes sense; both practically, considering the work that would be involved and their potentially different anatomy, and even lore-wise, because ancient, feral dragons might not want to wear hoods and pants!
However, it's a little sad that the very reasonable aversion to drawing vast piles of fitted apparel also excludes things like elemental emblems, seasonal winds, flowerfalls, and pets, which are more along the lines of copy/paste jobs. (Not to mention the invisibility cloak, which has great lore potential where an ancient dragon is concerned and, of course, requires no art work at all.)
The coding does not currently support tagging apparel into 'fitted' and 'non-fitted' categories. But perhaps it could.
In addition to making ancient dragons an even more exciting prospect, this feature, if applicable to Eternally Youthful dragons as well, would also increase interest in them, which might in turn increase gem sales.

If it’s not too much work, I’d love to see non-fitted apparel be applicable to Ancient breeds (and permababies, of course). The flowerfalls/flowerfall-type apparel, Flight emblems, Gem MP fairies, pets, and of course the Invisibility Cloak would be relatively low-effort to edit for Ancient breeds.
I’m fine with just having skins for Ancient breeds, but some simple apparel items that don’t require much form-fitting would be fun to have as well, if possible. :3

Dragons without apparel are extremely empty to me which is the reason why I'd like at least some sort of simple Ancient-specific apparel like robes and kilts.

To tell the truth, I think, since ancient dragons are going to be completely separate from modern breeds, that it woudl be better for ancient dragons to have their own set of apparel rather than specific things from modern dragons' apparel catalogue.
If they do decide to fit non-fitting apparel to ancient dragons, I would prefer it be kept to the things like flower falls that don't even need to be positioned.

I think they'd need their own class of apparel, like how they'll get their own class of genes. Pet and flowerfall apparel could be copied over to it. I understand why they just put a blanket "no apparel" rule on them though.

Nobody wants to tell you why discipline is so important. Discipline is the strongest form of self-love. It is ignoring current pleasures for bigger rewards to come. It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.

A dragon just doesn't feel finished until it has an outfit. And skins are not the same thing as apparel, in addition to being very expensive.

i already mentioned that in a thread about ancients in the forum. just anything that is copy pasted.. it doesnt even have to be all of it. even if its just flowerfalls that would be very good. ^^

I support this! Honestly, they should first reclassify all of the "extras and accents" that are actually apparel, and then make the remaining "extras and accents" the only types of apparel that ancients can wear. I think that would work well and wouldn't require much extra coding!
