I know that some players may be willing to trade gems for treasure, however I feel as though I am not the only person with a hoard of gems who may prefer some treasure instead. I think it would be cool if there is what would be the equivalent of an exchange rate/ currency trading post thing? I'm not too sure what you'd call it, I've been awake all day and my head is a wee bit fried lol.

I don't want the site to set a fixed currency exchange rate. It should be set by players so it can fluctuate with time and as the economy changes.
I'd love for players to be able to sell either type of currency on the AH tho, but it should always be at player-set rates.

No support. You can already exchange currency with other users via the forums, using two-way CRs. That could be streamlined, such as with an AH option like elfin suggested, but it exists already.
A site-run currency exchange would create a fixed exchange rate for treasure to gems, or vice versa, which is something that the majority of the userbase is vehemently against. Right now, the exchange rate is user-controlled, and fluctuates with the economy, as any healthy exchange rate and economy ought to.

As elfin said - AH with player-set rates yes, site-fixed rate no.
If you have a lot of gems stocked up, there are always buyers in Item Sales.

I'd just like to make a note that a site-run currency exchange doesn't HAVE to be fixed. I play another game where there's a currency exchange interface, but every gem available to buy is one that had been sold "to the site" by another player. There's a limited pool, created entirely by users, and the ratio dynamically fluctuates based on supply and demand.
So with that said, no support for a fixed ratio, and I could take or leave a dynamic one. I really love the ease of access to a site-run dynamic exchange system, I'm just not sure if flight rising has a big enough user base to support it. I'd worry wildclaw scrolls would come out and the entire pool would get emptied immediately.

The best way to handle this is to be able to post gems on the AH so that users can buy them as they please. It would be a site feature that would allow users to cut out the forums and more "face to face" aspect of the trading, but still make sure that all gems being traded are ones already circulating and allow players to set their own prices.
