judging by the color of FR's brown strip that shows how many users are online and sometimes your food resources. as well as the cancel button a lot of you might see typing up your comments in this thread. I think a small, brown colored dot next to your name on the clan profile and by your name in the forums. It would be very helpful if that was possible.

You might want to search 'show online status' in the suggestions forum.

This is a somewhat divided topic. I personally don't support because it really isn't anyone's business if I am online or not, and it wouldn't be accurate in anycase.

I often leave my browser open while I am playing different games, so it could show me online when I am not.

If I am playing the coliseum, it would show me as online, but I wouldn't know I had notifications.

I have also seen too many people (not on FR itself, but talking about it on different sites) who have a sense of entitlement when it comes to being replied to. These types of people already stalk the user's forum activity and whether their dragons are being fed, they don't need an additional tool in their arsenal.

Many players come on FR to relax. That means that if they don't want to interact with others, they don't have to. Having a way for others to see whether a person is online or not (an easier way than searching the online numbers) would give some people anxiety about not replying immediately to messages or pings.

All in all, as I said above, It isn't anyone's business who is online or not. FR is a casual browser game, and I feel that having ways to know when someone is online or not would change the feel of the game. Instead of 'oh I will respond later when I get the time, but I want to browse the forums right now', it would be 'they know I am online, I odn't want them to think I am ignoring them, but I don't know how to respond to what they said'.

No thanks, I like my privacy. It isn't anyone's business if I'm currently online or not.

I support adding a search function to the "online user" page, actually.

By the way, you can already hide if you're online or not, it's known as "account visibility". Even if such a feature was to be added, you already have the freedom to opt out of it.

No support for me, sorry. I want my privacy and I actually don't want the "I know you're online, why are you not answering me ?" problem or even worse (stalking, harassement,...).

I support because of this: [quote name="Corviknight" date="2019-07-06 08:07:59" ] By the way, you can already hide if you're online or not, it's known as "account visibility". That way people who want others to know that are online can actually show it, like for sales and stuff, and those who are shy or just want their privacy can hide it. It’s as simple as there being a green/red light or no light at all.

Maybe if it's in a less obvious place, like on your profile page instead of forum posts, and an option to turn it off, then I'd be more comfortable supporting it. And if it can automatically switch to 'off' or 'away' after 5-10 min inactivity on any FR tab that would be even better. I often leave tabs open when I'm not by the computer or am doing other stuff, and I don't want anyone thinking I'm online and ignoring them.

No thank you, not even with opt out. There's a lot of social pressure to enable it if the option is part of site, and I do not want that pressure on here too.

Even if you do want to enable it, I know I often have a FR tab up while I'm doing something else entirely. Coli has stayed live for hours for me like that, so FR would probably be telling people I'm online when I'm not going to see their messages for potentially hours or the next day.

People who want to indicate they're online can already do so via forum sigs and clan profile. Feel free to assume that anyone not doing so does not want their activity to be advertised to others, no matter how 'helpful' it might be.

Helpful for what?

Also, unless FR has a sensor to detect mouse movement on one of their pages this feature isn't terribly accurate. Heck, even if it did I know my mouse moves without me being there.

I would absolutely leave mine on simply to increase the amount of incorrect online/offline notices.

The only useful aspect of this sort of addition to the site would be to collect the usernames of people I need to block who start sending "why aren't you answering" messages when they think I'm online.

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.

Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
No support, even with a toggle. As others have said, it would drastically change the culture of the site. Shop owners and Dom leaders would be particularly affected by this. "If you want to beat out the competition, you should be available to me at all times" and suchlike.

If this is something you want for yourself, you can put one in your own signature or profile.

It takes Twelve Years for one Imperial pair to produce a Primal-eyed offspring of a specific sex. Goal-based breeding is dead.
