Does anyone else think it would be really nice to have something shimmer/iridescent-esque to go over their tiger/clown/speckle genes ;u;

@Elesette
You mean kind of like for example if a dragon has black pirmary and gold "shiny" tertiary it would have a golden shimmer to it? That does sound interesting...

Dracostryx is love.
Dracostryx is life.
@twilishewolf
yeah something like that :o Though I suppose for some colors it wouldn't work to well
- but i always get so frustrated when i realize that I have speckle on my dragons wings and cant but shimmer over it xD

An interesting idea, though I have no idea how it'd be executed.

I was just thinking about this myself this morning, though I was thinking more of "stacking" genes (or making them co-dominant so that both genes are expressed, so a dragon could potentially have iridescent and clown, for example) instead of having a shiny tertiary. XD

But I wouldn't mind having a shiny tertiary. I have a couple of dragons that would probably look very nice with something like that if executed properly.

It would be difficult to do what you're suggesting, since it would require the artists create a "shimmer" or "Iridescent" variation of every single colour of every single gene, since I believe they are done by hand and not via a filter. However, I do think the idea of an overall "shiny" look (the 'golden shimmer' suggested above) would be a neat tertiary. Something to give it a sheen, so to speak.

Hmm or maybe some sorta patter with a shimmery affect in case it proves to be too much work for the artists?

I do like the idea of shimmery clownspots. (for example)

I really wish there was a shiny tertiary that would go well with Iri/shim :( It's a pity to have a double gened dragon stay double gened just because a tertiary would look dull on it.

This wouldn't be difficult to do at all, actually. Time consuming, yes, but not difficult. I support this.
