The Scratch and Coin tiles get very hard to differentiate numbers very quickly, and as stated in another thread, the extra little color flair doesn't actually help that much, especially for users with certain colorblindnesses.

Runestones of the Arcanist already had extra elemental tiles, such as Cloud, Metal, Spirit, Time, etc. These extra elements would have been great to use here as well.


Please replace the busy Scratch and Coin tiles with tiles that are easier to differentiate, with things such as the extra elements from Runestones.

I agree with this notion for the most part.

I have visual snow that I see consistently. I can see the difference easily of the coin tiles, mostly because they have a patterned color variation that serves its purpose....
but I agree that the scratches are too hard to see and differentiate. It makes me go cross-eyed because I just can't see them that well, especially since I have floating static particles in my vision already. Makes me sad because I absolutely love mahjong and have been waiting since the site opened to have this game put in, but I'm not sure I can play it due to the fact it makes my eyes hurt to try and read the scratch tiles.

Perhaps we can replace the scratch tiles with scratches that make up the roman numerals instead? Even if people don't know what the symbols mean, it would allow for more space/bigger scratches so we can see them easier. And the symbols would just be matching anyway, so knowing what they mean isn't really absolutely needed imo.

I find the coins and scratches very hard to diffrentiate.

I have severely impacted vision in my right eye and sensory processing issues. I was sat there for like 10 minutes looking over the board like an idiot before I managed to match these tiles.

There are way easier fonts or icons to use!

Yeah, it can be difficult to tell the difference between the different coin and scratch tiles. I'm not sure why there needs to be so many variants of those particular tiles when there are plenty of other FR related symbols that can be used instead.

I think this is especially problematic with the scratch tiles. R/G colorblindness isn't that rare, and the one green slash amid red doesn't really help differentiate them enough.

I don’t even have any problems with my sight or eyes, and I’m having difficulties with the scratch tiles too :c would be nice to have them changed

Another pro-vote on scratch tile changing. I think the Runestones of the Arcanist tiles are in fact a good replacement.

The coin tiles don't personally bother me, as the hue and brightness change is significant enough of a difference and the coins large enough that I can tell their looks much more easily, but the SCRATCH tiles? Nope.

I agree! I don't have bad vision, but the scratches in particular are just not easy to tell apart. I like the new mahjong game, and I could possibly see myself playing it regularly (unlike any other fairgrounds game), but it would help if the scratch tiles were replaced with something more distinctive! Getting stuck checking the tiny differences between the scratch tiles just isn't fun.
