TOPIC | Minimal customization for hatchlings?
I was just admiring the new item for the recent plague festival, the riot hazebeacon. [item= riot hazebeacon] And thinking how it'd look lovely with my permababy Radium. Unfortunately customizing hatchlings and ancient breeds is not an option. It makes sense and is only fair given what a big hassle it is for the team to make all this extra apparel to match so many different dragons! Thousands upon thousands of apparel pieces! However it got me thinking, some apparel don't need to be particularly custom-fitted to each dragon to the point each art piece needs to be drawn uniquely for that dragon, right? Take for instance the Riot Hazebeacon. This birdlike creature just needs to be "in the picture". It doesn't need to fit the dragon's head, or its leg or anything of the sort. I also know some of the cat, dog and snake apparels fit this idea and so on. So I was wondering if there'd be any chance for us to have such apparel made available to hatchlings, and perhaps ancient breeds? It'd allow a small layer of customization for all dragons, without causing a bunch of extra work on the team. Perhaps there could even be a focus on creating an entire line of apparel that doesn't need to be "custom-made" for each dragon so that there'll be a wide range available to all dragons. As for hatchlings, could skins and accents be made available to them? Just like how users can model skins and accents for adult dragons now, they could design them to specifically fit the hatchling. Given that the users themselves take up the work, this again should not cause too much strain on the game's team. It might even improve interest for people to keep permababies since they'll serve a bit more use that way. Constructive criticism is appreciated. :)

I’d really love this. There’s plenty of apparel pieces that are basically copy pasted and I always want to put them on my gaolers until I remember they can’t wear them. I understand if they didn’t want to do this because it might set a precedent for wanting apparel. For instance, the new bird could be pasted onto any dragon, but then only plague would get flight apparel for their ancients/babies (ignoring similar stuff from other flights) which could bother some people, but I’d be fine with that.

If I'm not mistaken the banner objects from the festivals also seem fairly neutral and copy-pastable so there'd be one for each flight there as well, and otherwise there's always the option of making new themed apparel for flights which they can show off on their ancients and hatchlings! However I do think you have a valid point that as it is of current, it might be unfair toward people who wish to show off a "critter" of their flight. They could also leave out the flight-themed ones and just do it for the more neutral ones like the cats and so on. Thank you for your feedback!

It would require them to just make a model for the apparel for each common breed and since the art for male and female hatchlings is the same, it'd require only half the amount of work!
