TOPIC | Relist All
I sell majority of items listed under Other, and it gets really annoying to do it one by one, so a relist all button would make this so much easier. I know others have the same problem, it get's tiring having to relist your hundreds of items one by one.

This has been brought up a lot, and one major problem with it would be the lag. You are talking about listing hundreds of auctions, others have hundreds of auctions to list, imagine them all being relisted at nearly the same time?

Plus, this also allows the AH to become clogged with auctions that will never sell, because they aren't reevaluating their prices, so weeks go by with just one click a week and the owner of those auctions never even bother to check the prices to see if they have dropped.

A solution: The relist all button only does the items displayed on the page. 10. So you have to go through each page still, yet get a bit of a break.

Also "We cant have this because more items will be up on the AH then" is a super bizarre concept.

This is actually really interesting to me, because it displays how different methods of moneymaking affect different users - and it changed my opinion on how valid this function is.

If you're a coli nut or a new-item-release sniper, it's likely that you should be checking the prices when you relist. Food prices are always in flux, new releases start high and fall fast, and things like familiars, coli genes, coli apparel, and battle stones are both constantly changing and in most cases slowly dropping in price. Even for dom-shop marketplace flippers, not selling something for over two weeks usually means you've been consistently undercut and you need to dip. I fall into this category, and even if relist all were to exist, I probably wouldn't use it.

If you're a retired items dealer, a breeder or g1 seller, or running an accent shop, it's likely that you'll never need to change your prices. You're just dealing with a much slower market, one where a seven-day span is nowhere near enough of a window to reliably sell these items. So you'll relist everything one by one, month after month, and take your sales where you can. And in this case, a relist all makes perfect sense.

So that said, I agree with Autopilot here - if you're never going to change your prices and they never sell, that's a 'you' problem. Or maybe the prices will climb and your blindly relisted auction will be the cheapest around, up until the point where they're all bought and it isn't. Whatever happens, it won't really affect the economy.

[/quote] Auctions that will never sell don't really affect the economy, but they could affect the servers if there are thousands upon thousands of auctions that are blindly being relisted time after time after time and those items are never going to sell at that price, since the supply is just too high. I also don't really think there are all that many players with retired items or gen1 dragons that are listing hundreds of auctions at one time (sure there are some, but not a huge number), so even for those players, whose prices are probably the lowest, I don't support this, as even beyond the auctions, there is the issue of lag itself to deal with.

Laluzi is completely right though. Prices wont change, and even then, its still not remotely applicable to this conversation or suggestion. Its a big reach to try and connect this suggestion to 'it will hurt the economy'.

Someone is going to re-list those items anyway regardless of how they do it. It's just annoying if you have to do it in batches. This a small QOL change that is just a little nice thing. It wont??? touch the economy??? Or the servers* for that matter (especially if it is Per-Page like I mentioned).

*'it is too hard for the servers!' is a super weak point. The only people who can answer a tech question like that is stormlight themselves.

I support this if taxes greatly increase when using relist all.

Double the taxes every time you use "relist all" So, a 1-day relist all is 2% tax, a 3-day relist all is 4% tax and a 7-day relist all is 6% tax.

Next time you use it again for the same items, it's 4%, 8% and 12%.

Increased taxes? No thank you. If I've got 500 auctions of food up and 450 of them come back, I think it's perfectly reasonable that I should be able to relist in batches of 10 without any changes. I already spent hours putting them up because FR doesn't have anything actually reasonable or convenient that lets us say, like, "15 batches of 10, each for 5000t" and then subtracts 150 from two stacks and puts up 15 auctions. It's a wretched slog for each individual thing and if I put six hours into getting them all posted individually the first time, I think that time demand is more than enough "tax".

I never said anything about the economy, I said that I was afraid it would be bad for the servers. Overpriced auctions don't hurt the economy because the prices will normalize, but having thousands upon thousands of auctions that simply won't sell could the servers as more and more players join and toss their own overpriced auctions up.

I would rather not see thousands of auctions that wont' sell everytime I try to look something up, especially with the rather weak searching options FR has (where you can't search for a one word item without finding all other items of that category with that name it theirs).

To be honest, I don't really want it even page by page. I do feel that the AH is very inefficient when it come to listing and selling items. An overhaul would be great, but a relist all or relist page is not something I feel would really benefit FR overall.
