This has been worrying me since gaolers came out and their ancient genes are specified for gaolers. Modern genes aren't specified per modern species, and I'm concerned how this will affect things once more ancient breeds are released.
Will we end up with pages of genes all with "gene (specific dragon breed)?" I'd really like to see the common genes that will be shared with all ancient dragons (things like tiger/stripes/underbelly as an example) to be labelled as (ancient) instead of (gaoler). I understand some breed specific genes like wintercoat and gnarlhorn, and I'm curious how FR will make breeding a gaoler with sharkflank with a second breed without the same gene possible. (Nvm, reread that ancients can only breed with others of the same species.)
I hope I'm not the only one that sees an issue with the current system.
