Make Flight Rising better by sharing your ideas!
TOPIC | Some Coli ideas
So I was just in coli, and decided to go to the venue above my level to try and level a little faster, and came across something I was unfamiliar with.
A team of four monsters.
Now, this got me thinking: wait, team of more than three? That's interesting. But.. what about more?
More what?
Dragons.
And, by this, I introduce a little idea I have for a possible dominance addition:
Legions.
Imagine this: Dragons gather into their flights, and every weekend duke it out for whoever has dominance next. This could encourage players to level their dragons more, members of their flights could plan attacks on other factions, wars could be forged, along with bonds. This could also allow a little bit more meaning to familiars, like maybe they could be sort of add bonus damage, or be a power move! Of course, the coli itself would have to be fleshed out with different dragon types, such as the healers and mages (they can't do much rn ngl). But, that's just my little idea I wanted to share

Dominance should only be determined by ratio of dragon levels exalted to active clans as exalting removes excess dragons from the game


Eventually the admins will re-establish pvp in the coliseum so when they readd that you can challenge other clans if you wish.

But isn't it kinda boring that dominance is only exalting? I mean, I don't wanna yeet all my dragons to jesus just for some money and bonuses (exaggeration but still), and it's just too easy to gain dom if you exalt all your trash babies. I feel like we should earn dominance, and get to duke it out with other players! I mean, pvp was cool and all when it was still up (not me, but a friend played pvp at some point), but it was sort of 1 on 1. Imagine if you could chat with your team, in sort of a party chat, and be able to communicate strategies with different teams! Like, it'd be pretty awesome to team up with four other players or so, and get to fight off another team of five. The sure, it'd take time, but since when was making a game mean taking the easy route?

Erm... from my point of view the amount of work that goes into leveling those dragons sufficient that they're worth exalting is definitely effort. Dom is earned.

Could it be updated to consider ever-evolving player/flight strategies? Sure.

Is it currently effortless to win? Not during a contested week it sure isn't. All of the things you seem to want: communication, team coordination, planning, strategy, they all happen with the current system. Any of the dom threads from contested push weeks demonstrate that, and have the benefit of involving those who can't or don't want to spend time in the coli if they want to participate in dom.

I like this idea a lot, but only if you remove the fact that it effects Dominance.

If there were some kind of leaderboard where you could see which clan currently has the strongest legion, then it could be interesting.

But Dominance exists to make sure dragons get exalted instead of flooding the game.

I agree with pokemonbutch. This could be a lot of fun, but I’m not sure it should be a part of dominance. I’d like it if it had its own rewards (just please no clanbound prizes)

Now that you guys mention it, it does make sense to be separate from dominance. as @/Wizardry stated, its own rewards would definitely be nice. Actually, if this idea actually became part of the game, it'd prolly be a solution to the... iffy economy here. It feels like there's so much to buy, but not enough money for it. I have to constantly farm tidal trouble and shock switch just to get treasure (that or start an exalting spree, coli farming, or waste all my gathering turns on digging). I have seen others complain about how you have few options with getting treasure, and it'd be good to add a decent way to get treasure in a not grindy, unfun way. tidal trouble does get boring after two hours

Exalting is a vital part of the game and we need to encourage exalting. Exalting to win Dominance is a team effort and is not 'easy' there is a lot effort, time and money involved in winning it. Nor is exalting resulting in dragon death. If anything we need more treasure sinks. If this introduced a new treasure faucet it would also need to introduce a treasure sink to avoid upsetting the economic balance. No its not boring that dominance is only exalting. Exalting is a vital part of the game and we need to encourage exalting. Exalting to win Dominance is a team effort and is not 'easy' there is a lot effort, time and money involved in winning it. Nor is exalting resulting in dragon death.

The economy is fine, the site does a pretty good job in preventing inflation. If anything we need more treasure sinks. If this introduced a new treasure faucet it would also need to introduce a treasure sink to avoid upsetting the economic balance.
