TOPIC | View Family Tree

This has been suggested before, but not with a very detailed idea for how it would work and not for at least 2 years. So I have a suggestion to make regarding this idea.

Please implement a way to view a dragon's family tree as far back as it matters for breeding.

I do not suggest this be on a dragon's page, but either through a link somewhere under lineage or as an option in the scrying workshop, perhaps a secondary option under "Assay Bloodlines".

It would not need to have images and could simply be a page with a family tree structure listing links and names of dragons up to 5 generations removed from the dragon.

Not only is this a staple in many other browser based creature breeding games, but it is a useful tool in breeding projects.

For example, I am trying to breed a dragon with obsidian metallic/obsidian alloy/maize ghost for primal eyes. I have a male who fits this description. However, all females I can find for sale are related to him through a dragon named Medusa.

If I knew how far removed Medusa was from my dragon and another dragon with those same genes, I could make a plan to breed those two to completely different dragons until I get two with the right genes that are unrelated enough to breed.

However, as it stands I would need to search through the links of parents in the lineage section of my dragon, then my dragon's parents, then my dragon's parent's parents, ect. for 5 generations. Then I would need to do the same for the dragon I am looking to purchase.

Hi!

I would love this! I'm also trying to breed for Primal eyes and finding unrelated dragons is a pain in the butt after a certain point! xD

I would love something like how Dragon cave does it? You click on 'Lineage' and you get a new page, which shows the dragon's line.

You can follow This Link to see an image I captured of the lineage. I grabbed the messiest line I could find quickly, so it shows several foundation lines.

My favourite part about something like this, is that it can be used to create fun lineages for those that are interested in that! Spirals, staircases, colours, etc. Colours, of course, could be soiled with a nice scatter, but the lineage 'art work' could be a lot of fun, especially since dragons can't be killed or written off, so they will always have their nice lineage patterns :)

Anyway, I would love some lineage pages. So massive support :)

This sounds amazing, and I would really like for this to be real!

This would just be a useful tool in general, not just for breeding projects. I’m less a project breeder and more a ‘buy a new dragon to throw at one of my existing dragons for laughs’ breeder, but I’ve been caught out by unexpected cousins before. Supported!

This would be cool to have just in general--especially if it indicated whether the dragons in the tree were exalted or not (don't know if that would cause extra server strain or not). Some of my dragons are pretty old, and I'd love to be able to track down their earliest ancestor still active!

[/quote] I actually have the same thing going on lol! Since I am trying to breed for a specific gene, color, and breed combo and produce a primal (and its the breeds with the worst cooldowns) I have to have dragons to breed compatible offspring to make a whole bunch of pairs to do this. So that's a bit of bookkeeping to figure out who to breed with who. Basically the hassle I described having to do in the first post, I went and did that. One big family spreadsheet.

Support! When I'm bored, I always go through my favorite dragon's parents and grand parents and so on! It's quite difficult to do that, and a little confusing!
I'd love if this was added to the game!

Full support! I don't really breed for my dream dragon or anything but for me this would just be a really cool feature. I love looking at my dragons' family trees and seeing how far back they go!
