TOPIC | Auction House Search Tags
This is a suggestion to help with finding specific-looking dragons on the auction house. If you're a social hermit like me about 95% of the time, you may or may not want to go and request on the forums for "autumnal dragons," or "Halloween dragons." Additionally, people may or may not respond to your forum, then you have to deal with bumping your page and waiting. To add to this, people may be expecting more than you can pay for their dragons since they know you're looking for this specific dragon.

(See why this would help below.) Another cool "extra" of this suggestion would be determining whether or not certain dragons are fodder. Some people request that you don't exalt their dragons, some don't care, etc. etc. Being able to put "fodder" or "exalt" in your dragon's bio would help people search for fodder, and only be finding dragons that are meant to be exalted.

The idea of this suggestion is for sellers to put in tags in the bios of the dragons they're selling. Then, people could search for these keywords in the auction house.

Pros
- Easier to find specific-looking dragons (ex: autumnal, spooky, icy, golden, etc.)
- May make selling dragons easier (putting in "fodder," may make things go faster)
- May help clarify whether or not certain dragons should/shouldn't be fodder! ^

Cons
- May be hard for system to handle (no idea how these things work)
- People could put false tags

Thanks for listening, I know I can be a bit wordy. :>

If tags were universally agreed upon and responsibly used, sure.

I'm pretty sure the price is the main criteria of fodder, not tagging it. After that it's all down to personal preference once it's in your lair. Once a dragon is sold it's not yours so "do not exalt" doesn't really matter. If the owner doesn't want a dragon exalted they need to keep it themselves.

In real life people indiscriminately tag to get the most possible eyes on whatever it is in the hopes that someone will buy the thing. I don't see why they wouldn't do it here.

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.

Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
I personally would not want tags on the bio, nor allow users to determine what these tags are.

IE, it should be up to the Flight Rising staff to create tags and to a certain extent, apply these tags. (not so much that the tags are automatically applied, but rather that users could apply them, but only to dragons that fit the criteria)

Perhaps users could submit specific tags they want to see, such as autumnal dragons with a specification of what that means exactly. If there is enough call for a specific tag, then that tag is added.

for instance Autumnal dragons would potentially be ones that are orange/red/yellow range, with perhaps brown ranges allowed. Breed and Genes wouldn't matter.

No fodder/not fodder tags, because fodder is subjective and more price driven than anything else. As Nightwind said, once a dragon leaves your lair, you do not own that dragon anymore and have no say over the dragon, so if you sell a dragon and the buyer wants to immediately exalt it, then they are completely allowed to.

The reason I want tags to be FR created and have specific meanings is that, if I want to look for 'volcano' dragons, I don't want to have to look up flame, fiery, firey, volcano, lava, magma, rock, mountain and whatever other tags users might make up to describe their dragon.

I also don't want what Nightwind mentions above, where users would simply put every single tag on the dragon they can, in order for it to be seen more and hopefully sold quicker.

If tags had specific meanings, then users could tag a blue range dragon with green and/or purple ranges as 'autumnal' and have that particular tag filled up with dragons that imply do not fit what the user is looking for anyway.
