TOPIC | Scroll of unnaming?
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ... 18 19
Okay. Hear me out. Sometimes I just really want an unnamed dragon, alright? And since a dragon belongs to you when you get it, it'd be fair if we want it to be unnamed?
And I can't just name it 'nameless' or something like that, it doesn't have the same ring to it ;v;
It's also hard to breed for a very specific dragon to keep that one instead, unnamed
So what if we had a scroll that'd reset the name?

If your argument against it is "I named my dragon and sold it named so it would be named forever"; it's not your dragon. It's not your decision. I already have the option to take a renaming scroll and name the dragon 'AAAAAAAAA' instead. 'Unnamed' would look better on an offspring list, in my opinion

Sure thing! Though I'd want this specific scroll to be more expensive than a simple renaming scroll, to deter potential harassment. Maybe something like 100g? As most people do prefer named permas, it shouldn't be used too often anyway, but I'd love to be able to unname quite a few of my dragons.

Also, applying this scroll should allow people to rename the dragon for free later, as if it was the "basic" unnamed, to avoid hidden fees for the next buyer.

It should definitely be like the basic unnamed state. And I'd be perfectly okay with a higher price like that

Personally I agree with you, and have that extra freedom for our dragons would be nice. But I feel the 'unnamed' topic is so heated and each side holds strong feelings that the dev might like to avoid any chance of additional harassment potential, so I doubt this is going to happen.

Nope.

This, in my opinion, is just as bad and unfair a suggestion as 'every dragon gets a randomly assigned generator name upon hatch/exalt', except it's unfair to the other side of the argument instead.

[/quote] It could easily be priced out of range for most harassment risks. Someone suggested a 100 gem price per scroll. It's not like people are going to be buying them up to purposefully exalt unnamed. We've been chanting "Our dragon, our choice" for years now when it comes to exalting unnamed ones. If someone wants to shell out the gems to revert a dragon back to unnamed, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to. There are plenty of awful names that don't break the rules that are so much worse to get on your offspring lists than Unnamed afterall.

Nobody wants to tell you why discipline is so important. Discipline is the strongest form of self-love. It is ignoring current pleasures for bigger rewards to come. It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.
I'm ambivalent to this item existing, but I worry that it'd be used for griefing more often than it'd be used for removing names for lore/aesthetic purposes. We already see people buying dragons from others and renaming them insulting things before exalting them, and it does count as harassment. While this is just another flavor of that... as it is, the whole 'don't want unnamed offspring, name before you sell' is a solid argument against anyone pushing for control over their offspring outside their lair. This'd cause a lot of noise from that sector, as you can no longer prevent that outcome from actions under your control. And even then, you've gotta ask yourself - is 100g to unname a dragon a fair price for that action? When renaming is 6kt? That doesn't seem balanced to me.

But no less than 2000g per scroll. 100g is just pocket change.

I like the neutrality of Unnamed and, no, Nameless or Unknown is not the same. All my breeding project dragons parents are named Unknown cause I want to train them but I would still prefer Unnamed. It's my dragon, it should be my choice how I name it, including Unnamed.

Technically, one can buy a regular scroll and rename the dragon to something like "Unnarned" or "exalted", or "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa", or whatever if they're set on ruining someone's list, so there's no real reason for them to pay 100g just to spite someone, there are, to put it bluntly, cheaper options to do that. Though I'd be fine with a higher price.
