I just accidentally named a dragon 'spirit' even though I already had one named spirit and I feel kinda dumb, but so I thought it might be nice if there was a way that the game could either warn you that you already have a dragon with that name, or that it wouldn't allow you to name a dragon after an existing dragon in your lair.
TOPIC | No two dergs with the same name

No thanks many people use the same name for fodder dragons (just copy and paste so it’s very quick to name a bunch of dragons and see who is fodder or not at a glance. Anything that pops up a warning would get annoying very fast and preventing duplicate names would ruin a perfectly valid play style
Names aren’t permanent you can always rename them if it bothers you

If you weren't aware, you can always rename a dragon with the Scroll of Renaming
More to the point, there are plenty of lairs that use repeating names on purpose (have you met Sunshine?) or name all their fodder the same thing for simplicity's sake.
Personally, I have 2 different fodder pairs with an offspring list full of the same name. I wouldn't enjoy the extra 5+ clicks spent to reassure the game that, yes, I do want to name all these hatchlings "BLOOD," if it'll even allow me.
No support for restricting repeated names to prevent mistakes that are incredibly easy to fix.

No support. I have multiple dragons with the same name for a reason, and many other players like to use repeated names for various reasons too.

What if I bought a dragon named Myst if I already had a dragon named Myst in my lair? Would I just not be able to buy the second Myst if I already had one?

No support.
The random name generator would become more frustrating for naming fodder.

No support! Being able to reuse names is one of the things that makes FR better than other sites!

sorry but, no support. I understand what you mean when you say you don't want to have two dragons with the same name since i'm in the same boat but I always check my lair and den so I don't get repeats. Another thing is there are a lot of people who have a lair of dragons with the same name, case in point Vanadium and their army of Pebbles
